Moments.
Just moments...
They flash through his mind, each and every one of them; her.
She is beautiful, inside and out. But she is so much more...
Scott admires everything about who she is; Hope is intelligent, kind and witty. Caring, moral and strong. Hope makes Scott want to be a better man, aspire to be more.
He thinks about the slight crease that appears between her brows when she's focusing on work, the way she curls into him just a little closer when their alarm goes off; making it so much harder to get out of bed, and the glint in her eye when she jokes. He grins to himself at that thought; she has a terrible sense of humour...
Scott loves that freckles scatter over her nose in the summer and dimples mark her cheeks when she smiles. Hand in hand; hers is always cold, while his is always warm. Her eyes are bright and remind him of honey, while her hair falls in waves down her back. She fits perfectly against him, his chin resting atop his head when he holds her close.
Scott knows that Hope Van Dyne is fierce.
Fiercely loyal, fiercely determined and fiercely loving.
Somehow, she is a fantastic cook yet a terrible baker. Someone who (weirdly) enjoys to run, an animal lover, compulsive reader and unbelievably untidy at times.
He loves the sweet smell of her almond shampoo and the cherry taste of her lip balm. He loves that she manages to steal the sheets every night and despite having an overflowing draw full of pyjamas, still chooses his shirts to sleep in. He knows that any sweater he owns, now belongs to both of them.
Hope knows how Scott takes his coffee, exactly how hard to punch and just what to say when he is feeling down. She is beyond wonderful with Cassie, and seeing her with his daughter is his favourite thing in the universe. Cassie, like her Father, adores everything about Hope and the three of them enjoy figuring out a new meaning of 'family' together.
His home has become their home; science books litter the shelves, her clothes fill the closet and her toiletries are scattered throughout the house. Photos of them appear on the walls; the two of them with Cassie by the Bay, visiting the Avengers Compound, and Scott's favourite; a slightly out of focus photograph of them kissing in the rain which was taken by Cassie. Their time together is marked by Christmases, Birthdays, Anniversaries and vacations; Paris, Budapest, Madrid and Phuket are just a handful of the places they've travelled to together.
Scott Lang looks up at Hope, knowing with every fibre of his being, that he is truly and irrevocably in love. Hope Van Dyne owns a piece of his heart he never knew could belong to another. He looks up at her from where he is perched on one knee, a million moments of Hope running through his mind and drawing a smile onto his face. He can see the surprise evolving to elation in her eyes. She is nodding and he stands to kiss her, slipping the diamond ring onto her finger and gently wiping away a stray tear that has escaped to run down her cheek.
"I love you" he whispers against her hair, holding her close. "I love you more" she replies, arms slipping around his waist.
"Impossible" he replies. And if possible, her loves her more now than he did a moment ago.
Moments.
A million moments of them...
And they're both looking forward to a million more.
