It feels like a risk, a mistake, to just be falling in love with another country's prince, but there's something about the way it feels to be around him and something about their long winded conversations on the beach, when the sun warms their backs, and they laugh together. There's something almost gentle like candlelight, like a glow from a lantern, to being around Raji.
And Kihal would admit that he is a bit of a mess, but so is she, so that's okay. They both have a lot to work on, and perhaps they can even help each other along on their projects of self growth. Somehow, even beyond what feels merely intellectual to say, there's a hand in hers that makes her feel as warm as the sun and as vibrant as the beach in the daytime.
And as they walk these sandy shorelines together, they talk, like they've always known each other, like they've been friends for ages. Kihal has never felt more at home, and she lacks the words that define or describe it much better than anything she's ever thought of to begin to describe it.
It's just her and Raji out here at the moment, and it feels like their own special oasis, a place where they can be where it isn't the world or at least the country keeping its eye on Raji to see his next decision, watch his next move, gawk at whatever mistakes he could be making. Yet, despite all of the attention that he gets as the Crown Prince of Tanbarun, Kihal thinks that they might be able to make this work out.
And she repaints her future in new colors with bright new ideas, and she wonders how that will look, taste, feel, how she'll persevere and make it through all the obstacles that are coming their way, both the expected ones and the not so expected ones.
But she has faith, and Raji is right here beside her. So, it will all work out somehow.
