Queen Moon Shadow sat calmly in the palace's private Lady's Room. She slowly sipped her hot cup of dragon nip tea while listening attentively to Crown Princess Astrid and Princess Una. They had come unexpectedly from their world four hours ago. They proclaimed they had urgent news that needed to be shared immediately.
Praise, Silver Queen, that Mage Azure had succeeded in conjuring a stabilized portal between the Dragon Kingdom and the Human Realm. It made these visitations from their human saviors much more manageable. The Kingdom immensely enjoyed whenever the Haddocks or Astrid visited. However, it was still confusing to have Guard Astrid and Crown Princess Astrid in the same room at times.
Of course, neither Astrid nor Una held any rank in their domain. However, the Haddocks and Astrid were considered royalty by the Draco Beings. Consequently, whenever they got together, they were referred to as such. It only made sense, given that Hiccup, Boden, and Una all harbored dragon souls within their human bodies. Moreover, they had aided the Dragon Kingdom multiple times.
Setting down her beverage, the enchanting Night Fury queen regnant addressed the two young princesses. "I'm feeling incredibly flattered by your visit, my darling princesses, even if it was unannounced. However, you two seem positively upset.
So please kindly share with me why you've come to our universe so unexpectedly. Did something significant come about within your domain?" Queen Moon Shadow questioned the gorgeous young ladies.
"Tragically, yes, Queen Moon Shadow. A world-shattering death came about in our universe only a few hours ago. The most celebrated female monarch in modern times has regrettably passed away. Her name was Queen Elizabeth II, and she reigned for 70 years!" Crown Princess Astrid explained to the Draco Being sovereign.
"It is heartbreaking to hear that a nation has lost its beloved leader. I'm assuming she had heirs, at least?" the Night Fury inquired fearfully. Her voice was overlaid with more then anxiety. She couldn't help but contemplate the fate of her kingdom and lineage whenever she passed on to the next world.
Princess Una nodded reassuringly, which allowed Moon Shadow to relax. The trio sipped their flavorful tea before resuming their conversation. "Yes, the Queen of England had an abundance of heirs, Queen Moon Shadow.
Therefore the monarchical bloodline isn't in any jeopardy. Yet, I'm not sure when the coronation will be. Then, however, people will no longer be able to say, "And I'm the Queen of England," Princess Una started to explain though she paused when she glanced at the crowned head in front of her.
Queen Moon Shadow looked utterly baffled by the young princess's words. Therefore, Princess Una clarified it was a figure of speech. Once that had been sorted out, the child princess restarted.
"From here on out, there's an abundance of male successors. So I'm not entirely sure how the United Kingdom's governing functions. But, again, we've only begun in school to start to understand how the American government operates. So we've had no chance to explore other countries' governments yet. However, I'm sure the schools will give us a brief explanation in the coming days."
"However, everyone in our world is grieving in some manner. Great leaders worldwide are paying their respect. No doubt, the funeral will be a momentous affair in itself. However, we couldn't help but desire to ensure you're alive and well, Queen Moon Shadow," Princess Astrid concluded to the sensual Night Fury.
"Well, I hope we can open the portal to view this magnificent lady's send-off. It seems only fitting that all leaders should pay their respects, even if we're from an entirely different universe.
Our customs are different, as is our theology. However, our civilization still understands the significance of respect and honor. How its only right to be supportive after such a loss."
"We'll do our finest to keep you updated. Thankfully with the portal between our worlds stabilized, we'll be able to do an adequate job of informing you," Princess Una soothed the queen regent.
"Yes, please. I'll send word that the kingdom will enter a week of mourning for a fallen leader. Again, we must pay our respects. Plus, we should pray to White King and Silver Queen that this extraordinary woman's soul passes on peacefully into the next life."
"Well, we do our best to keep you up to date. But, for now, we must return to our world if we're to get more updates for you. Thank you for having us for afternoon tea," the Crown Princess replied graciously.
They quickly hugged and curtsied before Queen Moon Shadow ushered them to the portal. Then, hopefully, the Human World would grieve as one, and a bright future could be salvaged from the ashes of tragedy. One can only hope.
