I don't own anything with regard to Harry Potter. It's the property of JK Rowling and WarnerMedia.
This story, to which I extend my intellectual property rights, starts from the premise that Harry says something before Vernon rips up the first letter that was delivered 24th July 1991.
To the reviewer of chapter 1. Yes chapter 1 was long and may have benefitted from being several more detailed chapters. Harry is purposefully sounds older than he is. Dumbledore thinks Harry is possessed by Tom. He's not that wide of the mark. Both hate Dumbledore and that gave Tom an 'in'. Harry did successfully drive out the soul parts effectively merging 'Tom' with himself. The part of the soul that had been all that Tom had left had departed 'on its next great adventure'.
Harry is buying a full wardrobe not just one outfit. I should have made that clear. Harry has a cheque book for his Trust fund. He's got his sort code and account number. At his age, you are correct, he's not that bothered. He is too young. There are a number of accounts that the solicitor in Godric's Hollow is Executor for. His Trust Fund and Care Account for the money from Gringotts and the State are held by the Bank as Executor. That was how Lily set it up. That the Dursleys didn't receive the money from Gringotts or the County was down to Dumbledore. He froze the Wills and redirected mail to Petunia from Lily and anyone else who knew her. Lily did send a letter to her sister detailing the finances they'd put in place for Harry. Dumbledore's interference meant she never got it. The Dursleys never knew there were any accounts they had to manage for Harry. Lily didn't use the same bank as they did.
The wardstone required both Harry's and Petunia's blood. Petunia doesn't remember donating any. Dumbledore bypassed legal channels, when he dumped Harry on them. He meant for them to have no money to raise Harry with, so that they would mistreat him worse than otherwise.
Hogwarts is not the be all and end all for magic. Auror's have to know how to end Fidelius'. Ending them means being more powerful than the caster or being the caster. Dumbledore's the most powerful wizard in the country. It's doubtful Riddle at his prime could have ended a Fidelius Dumbles cast. Lily and James reckon Harry is more powerful based on what he could do as a one-year-old. That Harry broke the bindings placed on him by Dumbles means he can end the Fidelius that Dumbles cast, by reading what Lily wrote.
Harry knows to speak to the Goblins because his parents told him to. Petunia went with Lily, when she first went to Gringotts. Gringotts deal with muggles, which means they have an entrance muggles use.
Harry James Potter was going to the best state school in Crawley, which was also the best one in Surrey. He'd spent a day in Hogwarts. What a dump. He'd presented himself to the school, he'd attended and he could still do magic. His state school headmaster had turned out to be a death eater who had taken him to see the misshapen thing that was Moldyshorts and a giant snake and he'd incinerated everything not him with fiendfyre. He'd portkeyed home, with his last look as the magical fire had proven uncontrollable and well on its way to burning down an Albanian forest.
Monday morning and he'd not had a free period first thing. The local police force came to ask him some questions. Harry said that the headmaster had known where he'd been Friday and had asked Harry to go see him after he'd finished on Saturday morning, because he'd been interested in helping. They'd talked and then Harry had left and returned home.
His afternoon games time had been taken up by another police officer, named Dawlish, according to his badge. His questions were a repeat of the questions the officers had asked earlier. Harry began to suspect he was an auror, a magical police officer. That was confirmed when the man began a different series of questions.
"Why did you ignore people you'd met in the past month?"
"Is it a crime not to acknowledge people?"
"Not at all."
"So why imply that it is?"
"Why have you not been you Gringotts in a month?"
"Attempting to find out about my business with the bank. I'm sure they'd ask you some pointed questions about your interest. It's contrary to several treaties."
"You were rude. You ignored people you'd met."
"I met all the members of my alliance. Once. Their families, too. That doesn't make them bosum pals." Harry liked the way Dawlish grimaced.
"You made Hermione Granger a protected person."
"She needed Protection and a different guardian."
"There was a fire in Albania that destroyed a forest on Saturday. A particular type of fire."
"Was that the only fire in a forest that was of a particular type?"
"Well no."
"Why ask me about it then?"
Dawlish seemed flustered.
"You didn't talk with anyone."
"I was doing something I did not want to do. Of course, I wasn't talking to anyone."
"You accused someone of trying to search your trunk."
"Which House were you in?"
"Ravenclaw."
"How do you gain access?"
"You answer a riddle, correctly."
"That means anyone who answers a riddle, correctly, can gain entry?"
"Yes, I guess so." Dawlish seemed rattled. Harry wondered how Dawlish had ever made it into Ravenclaw.
The questions continued all afternoon, going over the same questions, as if Dawlish expected Harry to forget the answers he'd already given. Eventually, about 5pm, Remus Lupin strode into the room, smacked a cease-and-desist order in front of Dawlish and marched Harry out of the room. Harry remembered to take all his stuff with him. They departed, leaving Dawlish fuming.
Back at 12 Grimmauld Place, Harry ate his meal, served by an almost civil Kreacher, and then retired to his room to start his homework. Remus sat down, by contrast, and wrote a letter to Amelia Bones. He pulled no punches. He said the 3-hour grilling of Lord Potter-Gaunt with no legal representation present and no wizard children services representation represented a breach of all her Department's codes of procedure. Remus demanded to know how Dawlish had found Harry, since he was supposed to be hidden from magical Britain.
Remus was now on top of the Black side of Harry's businesses and Vaults. He knew Sirius was in Azkaban. Now he knew Sirius had blood adopted Harry, because he'd been there when that had happened. Peter hadn't. He'd said he had to go see his mother. James hadn't told Peter that Sirius was going to be made the official godfather. He hadn't known that Lily and Alice were going to be the godmother to each other's baby.
Remus had contacted the legal firm the Potters had used for their US business. They would get back to him. Remus wanted to go over to the US and deal with it personally. He'd wanted to get Sirius free, but Harry had said to find Voldemort first. The Ministry had tricked Sirius into attending a compensation hearing and thrown him back in Azkaban, since he was still on the hook for killing a dozen muggles and Peter Pettigrew. There was no body, so Sirius had to be guilty. They hadn't bothered with a trial, either.
Remus had arrived in Australia and had been left high and dry and very short of money. He'd made a life for himself down under. He'd written Harry on his birthday and at Christmas. He never received a reply. He now knew, because Harry had got Potter House-elves that Dumbledore had tricked into working for him at Hogwarts to redirect the redirect mail charm to take the letters in at Potter Manor. Harry now could not access the Potter House-elves, because he was barred from accessing the Potter account until he was 21, so he'd still not get mail sent to him from those who didn't know him personally.
Of course, Remus had been delighted when Dumbledore had received his comeuppance and lost all his posts. So he should have. Part of Remus wished Dumbledore hadn't lost it all, since they'd have known where he was, most of the time. Remus was actually pleased with the staffing changes that McGonagall had made. He hadn't been able to finalize a deal and was miffed that Snivellus had been hired. The man had long wanted the DADA job and must have had his name down permanently for it. Now, Snivellus was dead. The life debt had been invoked by Harry and it had killed Severus Tobias Snape aka Snivellus. Remus almost regretted telling Harry that the man owed him a life debt, via James. Almost.
Remus hadn't told Harry that his godfather was back in Azkaban. He knew that Harry would fly off the handle. Tuesday evening, Sirius returned looking very dishevelled. Sirius cleaned up and began to look more like himself. At dinner, the three of them discussed their next moves.
"Obviously, Albania is now moot," Harry said.
"What is next?" Remus asked.
"There's only one of those things left, now." Harry looked around. Neither man seemed to be happy about that.
"You think it's a diary, don't you?" Sirius added.
"I can't see it being anything else." Harry was adamant. "Three Founders items changed into those things. I just don't see him being able to get to Godric's Sword. Even if he did, he'd still have had to have given it to one of his top supporters. The question is whom."
"That's easy. We believed Lucius Malfoy was his number two. We could never prove it, mind or we'd have raided Malfoy Manor. Believe me we practiced assaulting it." Sirius sounded bitter.
"That's what we have to do," Harry said. "Sneak past the wards, steal the item, whatever it is and get out without anyone knowing we were there."
"A Marauder attack," Remus laughed. So did Sirius.
"Back in the 16th century, what's now Malfoy Manor was The Black Manor. I've plans and ward settings from that time for the property."
"Wouldn't they have changed the wards in the intervening years," Harry asked.
"Unlikely," Sirius responded. "House Black and House Malfoy have never been enemies."
"Until now," Harry said, darkly.
"Malfoy doesn't know that," Sirius chuckled.
"Strictly speaking we aren't enemies, now," Harry said. "We're retrieving something that has no business existing."
"We're performing a public service," Remus said. Both men laughed.
"I was reading about something that could help us in The History of Magic. It was called The Hand of Glory." Harry looked pleased to have remembered that information.
"I see a trip to Borgin and Burke's," Remus said.
The following day, Remus 'dropped' Harry off at school and then went to Borgin and Burke's. Remus didn't like Knockturn Alley at the best of times. Too many people with shady business and far too many knives. Thieves and assassins were said to have Guild headquarters in Knockturn Alley.
The shop did have the Hand of Glory. It also had what Remus thought was called the Light of the Damned, a candle which showed the way to its holder's objective. There was also a cabinet. Remus thought Harry could do with one of those. The House of Black was 3500 galleons lighter after the purchases. Remus though it money well spent. Obviously the Light and the Hand were not infallible or they would not have been in the shop.
Sirius dug out the plans of what become the Malfoy Manor. He began planning the assault based on what was in place when it was a Black property. There were wards at the boundaries of the estate. That was so an attacker couldn't get to the house itself. The weakness on these properties was for deliveries, where food and the like were put into the house. It was effectively the walk-in pantry and the pantry door wasn't warded. That would be Sirius' preferred entry point.
A week later and Sirius and Remus dressed in dragonskin armour assaulted Malfoy Manor in the middle of the night. They were wearing gloves. They bypassed the outer ward without difficulty. They entered the pantry from the outside using the Hand of Glory. They entered the manor through the pantry door. Remus used the Light of the Damned to find the entrance to the cellar, which was well hidden where the dark items were. They bagged the diary belonging to TM Riddle. There was no sword for them to take. They then returned the way that they had come. Once outside the wards, they appararated back to 12 Grimmauld Place. There they found Harry waiting. Harry had an idea. He would write in the diary, pretending to be Draco Malfoy. First though, he would go back to bed and sleep.
Sirius and Remus decided they would create a more up to date version of their Marauders Map of Hogwarts. Okay, Harry wasn't going there, but both men missed the place and doing this would be one way to slake their nostalgia. Moony, Padfoot and Prongslet, yes, it would be the three of them. Neither man had any idea how they'd add Harry to the wardstone, but they weren't Marauders for nothing.
Harry was really enjoying school and the weekend came quickly enough. There was no sign of Hermione. That concerned Harry. Something else bothered him. He had never seen his birth certificate. The Dursleys hadn't told him anything. Harry remembered Vernon going on about his, that is Vernon's, parents had left everything to the local vets in their Wills. Harry had never seen the Wills of his parents.
For his magic homework, which he did after he finished his regular homework, Harry read about Obscurials. He thought he was lucky the beatings he'd endured hadn't come close to creating one in him. Perhaps the presence of what had remained of Tom's soul had prevented that outcome.
Harry went to talk to Walburga's portrait.
"Lady Walburga, I need your advice. I know nothing about my family, the Potters. I don't know what they said in the Wills. I don't even know, if my name is Harry, Henry, Harold, Hadrian or Harrison. I have never seen where my parents lived nor where they are buried." He had, of course, but he wasn't telling Walburga that.
"That's quite the case of Line Theft to lay at the feet of one whiskered wanker," Walburga said. "The Black Book, which is self-updating will tell you what House Black knows about your family. There's a section in the DMLE that deals with births, marriages and deaths. Go there and demand your birth certificate and your parents' Wills. They were sealed on his orders, you know. Quite illegally. The 1412 Act passed by the Wizarding Council expressly prohibited the sealing of any Wills from the Noble and Most Ancient Houses for any reason. It's The Family Act. You are Lord Potter, Head of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Potter. Convenient, isn't it?"
"Any other Wills I should get?" Harry asked.
"There are those of your Great Uncle and Great Aunt and your Potter grandparents. They were never read, either. Oh and your parents lived in Godric's Hollow in Devon. In the Watchtower overlooking Dumbledore Manor."
"What? My parents were Jehovah's Witnesses?" Harry asked aghast. They'd been regular callers at 4 Privet Drive. Vernon had gone so far as to threaten them with a shotgun should they ever call again. The visits had ceased. A postcard had been put up in the front door's lower left window saying 'No Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons or other religious wierdos'.
"Of course not. They were followers of Lady Magic, like all wizards and witches." Walburga was having serious doubts about this young wizard's upbringing. She wanted to hang whoever hadn't told him about everything or anything, at all.
At lunch, Harry told Sirius and Remus what he wanted to do. They seemed shocked, but said that is what they would do. After lunch, of course.
In the DMLE, Harry went to the office dealing with what he wanted. The rather bored attendant didn't even look at Harry as he asked for his birth certificates and Wills of his parents.
"The Wills are sealed by Order of the Chief Warlock 1st November 1981. The birth certificates cannot be released without the order of your magical guardian Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore."
Sirius was about to explode. Remus calmed him down. Harry was mount St Harry and he erupted at the poor young witch.
"The FUCK he is. I am Lord Potter, Head of the House of Potter, which is a Noble and Most Ancient House. Under The Family Act 1412, Wills belonging to a Noble and Most Ancient House cannot be sealed for any reason. Hand over the documents I have requested or face House justice." The Potter House ring blazed on Harry's finger. The poor young witch looked like someone had walked over her grave.
A few minutes later, Harry was in possession of 6 Wills and 2 Birth certificates. Remus looked puzzled. It would appear that James had pranked his son. Harry left the Ministry building with a face like thunder. Remus sent a request for Ted Tonks to join them via Patronus message. He joined them on the steps and the four apparated or in Harry's case side-apparated to 12 Grimmauld Place.
The four were suitable seated in the main Black office. Sirius had been wanting to use it, ever since he got back. Ted Tonks said,
"This is unusual. None of these Wills has been read. That is highly irregular. I shall start with Lord Charlus Potter's Will. I can summarise and then read it in full for you later."
"Summary, first please," Sirius said.
"Charlus left everything to Dorea, if he predeceased her or to Fleamont if she had already died. His entire estate was frozen until the next Lord was at least 21. He did enjoin the next Lord to recover his personal time turner. This was not limited like the standard ones at the Ministry. Dorea's is the same. Everything to Charlus or then Fleamont. Fleamont left everything to Euphemia and then James. His account was frozen until the Lord was at least 18.
If what I am reading is correct, James never knew he was Lord. James and Lily left everything to each other. Except 25000 galleons to Remus John Lupin, the heirloom Invisibility Cloak to their son on his 11th birthday. Their son was never to be left with the Dursleys in the event that they both died. They said Sirius Orion Black did not betray them. He was not their Secret Keeper. A fact Dumbledore knew for certain. The names their son should be brought up by went Godfather Sirius Orion Black, Godmother Alice Longbottom, Amelia Bones, Minerva McGonagall, Remus Lupin, James Evans and the local orphanage. Their son was to have his Vault Key from the death of his parents."
Harry was thinking that if Dumbledore had the time turner, he would be using it to reverse what he had just done. He asked that every document be copied and that Kreacher hid it somewhere safe, but to tell no one where they were.
The first birth certificate had Harry's name as Hadrian Jamesson Potter. Sirius suggested Harry try a phrase on it. Harry did and his name appeared as Harry James Potter with a message from his father 'You've been pranked'.
The second was the result of the blood adoption done by Sirius Orion Black.
HADRIAN JAMES SIRIUS POTTER-BLACK
That was his legal name. He was legally Heir Black. The Black Heir ring materialized around his finger to the right of his middle finger on his right hand as Harry said his name.
Then Harry was back in front of the young bored attendant. Things played out as they had until Harry erupted. After he had, he asked Remus to message Amelia Bones to get her down here with a full detachment of aurors and then to get Ted Tonks present. The young witch was handing over the 6 Wills and 2 Birth Certificates, when in burst Albus Dumbledore.
"I am afraid, Harry, that I cannot permit you to do this." Dumbledore said, twinkle whirling away.
Harry decided to be all grown up about this. "You do not have my permission to call me by my first name. Do so again and I call upon Lady Magic to hold you to account. It's none of your business. Under The Family Act 1412 no Will may be sealed for any reason, when it belongs to a member of a Noble and Most Ancient House, like me."
"I am your magical guardian," Dumbledore said. "And I forbid this."
"The fuck you are. Swear on your life and magic that you are my magical guardian."
Dumbledore refused. Amelia Bones arrived with a contingent of aurors. They searched Dumbledore. Amelia was the one who found the time turner. Her eyes opened wide. The name on the time turner was Charlus Potter. She handed it to Harry saying, "Yours, I believe."
Harry smiled. "Thank you, Madam Bones." He pocketed the time turner in an inner pocket. The rest of the afternoon happened as it had before; not that any of those involved realized. The difference being that Harry was able to put the time turner on the table, when Tonks said that Charlus enjoined someone to find his time turner. Harry chuckled that Dumbledore had allowed himself to be searched. He wondered how many times that afternoon had replayed itself before he had gotten the time turner.
Ted Tonks did read the 6 Wills. Remus wondered where the 25000 galleons bequeathed to Remus had ended up. Then he realized that he was the Remus in question. All the men looked at the names on the Wills for James and Lily. Dumbledore and Pettigrew had witnessed both Wills. The Executor was a firm of Solicitors Cartwright, Edgars and Magruder in Godric's Hollow.
Harry had been there, but it wasn't something he could tell. Secrets did have a way of coming out. Harry wanted to keep this one for as long as he could. He did not want them to know that he'd been the one to end the Fidelius. He'd read about the charm after he'd followed his mother's instructions. To put it bluntly to end the spell or cast a new one, you had to be either the wizard or witch who had cast it or be more powerful. Harry knew that Dumbledore had cast the spell, because Ted Tonks had read out the name during the reading of the Wills.
Harry had had some House-Elves he could call on and then he'd sent them to Potter Manor. He would not have done that had he known that the property was sealed off until he was 21. What a bummer! He'd outsmarted himself. Now that Snape was dead, Harry would be getting the proceeds from the sale of that house, too. He also had a sister to track down. That was his responsibility. Remus would never have known. He'd not been around when Lily was pregnant again. Sirius was in his final year of auror training and very busy with that and missions. Lily had taken steps to hide the fact she was pregnant. She hadn't wanted Dumbledore to know. According to Cartwright, the House-elf had taken the baby as soon as Voldemort had entered and ensured the room they shared looked like it had only ever housed him before leaving. The House-elf had left the baby at an orphanage – Harry didn't have a name for that House-elf. The orphanage had shut down. The County had a fostering and adoption policy, believing it better for the children than running orphanages. Investigation had revealed a lot of records from the orphanage had been burnt. The ash had long since been dispersed. Having Kreacher find every blue- or green-eyed girl born in 1981, except for November and December, who had then been put up for adoption was a wild goose chase. Harry had to think of a way to narrow the search.
Harry had been told that his sister had been adopted. The records had then been lost. That was very convenient. He did have a timeline. Dumbledore could not have entered his room before the House-elf left. If it was not the case, Voldie would not have needed to enter via the front door. Harry had to leave off thinking about such matters. He had an evil diary to bamboozle.
He found Remus and Sirius in the main office. Remus looked like he'd been crying. Harry thought he might be crying too, if he'd learned that he'd been left £125,000 that he'd never received. Where had that money gone?
The diary, quill, ink and parchment were waiting for him.
Harry sat, picked up the quill, dipped it in the ink and opened the diary.
"Hello," Harry wrote.
"Hello," the diary wrote back. "Who are you?"
"Draco Malfoy."
"Why are you writing in my diary?"
"My father thinks I need to discipline and order my thoughts."
"Who is your father?"
"Lucius Malfoy."
"How did Lucius Malfoy come to have my diary?"
"The Dark Lord gave it to him." Harry was guessing.
"Which Dark Lord? There have been so many?"
"Lord Voldemort."
"What happened to this Lord Voldemort?"
"He attacked the Potters. He killed the two adults and then vanished attacking the child or so the stories say."
"A child?"
"He was named Harry. He was 15 months old. No-one knew where he was. He isn't going to Hogwarts. He spent a day there, killed Snape and left."
"Snape, as in Severus Tobias Snape?"
"Yes. He was my godfather. I want revenge."
"Where is he going to school? I shall send some of my best Death Eaters to kill him and the muggles."
"Your Death Eaters?"
"Tom Marvolo Riddle = I am Lord Voldemort. You are not the first to write in my diary. Your father did, too."
Harry put the name of the school down and its address. Voldie responded with 14 names. All workers for the Ministry. Harry copied those onto a piece of parchment. Voldie told Harry to write to the 14 using ordinary post owls, telling them to attack this Harry and the muggles at the school and to wear full Death Eater regalia. The date of the attack was to be 27th September 1991, a Friday. Harry, as Draco, said he would.
Sirius then used fiendfyre on the diary, after he'd put it in the Black destruction area. Harry had not forgotten about Hermione. He suggested that they should go visit her parents on the morrow, a Sunday. Remus agreed. Sirius nodded.
The 14 notes were written and sent off using ordinary postal owls. The note told each of the 14 that they were ordered by the Dark Lord to attack a muggle school and kill the Harry who had eluded him and as many muggles as they could. They were to wear full death Eater regalia, leave the Mors Morde sign behind and destroy the note they had received. 14 men would destroy the note they had received and be overjoyed that their Dark Lord had returned and sent them on the attack. It was all they had dreamt of doing for nearly a decade. Killing Harry Potter was past time for doing. Now, they would.
Sirius and Remus then had to work out how to ambush the Death Eaters. This had them excited. Harry left them to it and went off to bed. The following morning, when Harry went down for breakfast, the two men were beaming. Harry waited for them to tell him what was going on. They let him finish breakfast before telling him that they were all going to see the Grangers.
Remus and Sirius had got Hermione a book 'from Harry' and a portkey that the attached noted said was activated by saying 'Harry'. Harry hadn't had an idea about either. He'd left them planning an ambush and now they had presents for Hermione. He thought the presents were cool.
At 10am, Sirius knocked on the front door of a very nice detached four bedroom house in a leafy suburb of Crawley. The door was opened by a man in his Sunday best. Harry thought they were off to Church. This might not have been the best time to visit. They were invited into the lounge and offered seats. They sat.
"Mrs and Mrs Granger, I'm Sirius Black and these two are Remus Lupin and Harry Potter."
Mr Granger responded, "We're Doctor Mike Granger and Doctor Mike Granger. We're dentists with a surgery in Crawley. We don't usually accept people who turn up on our doorsteps as new clients."
"I'm Michelle and he's Michael," Mrs Granger added, by way of clarification. Harry couldn't imagine a more confusing situation for those attending their practice. 'Dr Mike will see you now'. Yeah fine, but which one.
"We're not looking to be accepted onto your dental practice's register," Remus said. "We're wizards, in case you've forgotten, and you're under our protection. That is the protection offered by Houses Black and Potter. There are a few provisions that we have not told you yet. Our protection doesn't kick in until a calendar month has passed. You do know you can home school Hermione, don't you?"
"No, we were not aware of that option," Michael said. "Hermione can go to a school in our world, be home schooled in magic?"
"Yes, she can. She can join Harry at the school she would have gone to and his magic lessons, with me," Remus said.
"But not before October 1st and not before 7pm," Sirius said. "We'll send Hermione a portkey that will bring her to my house, along with instructions on how to leave Hogwarts, so she can activate it. We'll send an owl here on her birthday to take it and a present to her."
"Wouldn't it be simpler to just go and pick her up?" Mrs Granger asked. Harry sniggered. Sirius gave him a dirty look.
"We're assuming that the letter we'll send along with the present withdrawing her won't be accepted," Remus said.
"Why wouldn't they honour our decision?" Mr Granger sounded disgusted and confused, at the same time.
"It's a question of money," Sirius said. "The 20 muggleborns at Hogwarts pay the same amount in fees as those 200 purebloods. You're not told you can home educate. You're told it's the best school of wizards and witches in the world. Last time that was true was when Albus Dumbledore attended as a pupil. In all his time as Headmaster, it ranked 11th out of 11 in world rankings. Some courses aren't even recognized as qualification by the International Confederation of Wizards (ICW). Aurors in particular have to take Defence against the Dark Arts NEWT again during their training, so substandard is Hogwarts' teaching."
"There are other things that Hogwarts just doesn't teach. Wizarding etiquette is the worst example. Aside from the very short and not very informative pamphlet first years get, how wizards and witches should behave and act towards each other is very much trial and error. Muggleborns make lots of errors and they are not told what these are. Two Noble and Most Ancient Houses protect Hermione and that gives us a lot of leeway. Don't worry, we'll teach Hermione all about Wizarding Etiquette. Harry will be taught as well," Remus added by way of explanation. Harry scowled.
"How much will we get back?" Mr Granger demanded.
"90%. You'd get that back anyway, because Hermione now counts as Pureblood, even if you didn't withdraw her." Sirius looked like a cat who had just won a bowl of the finest cream. Considering Sirius spent quite some time as a dog that was no mean feat.
