I Don't
Need To
Know Them
Disclaimer: Something I recently thought about where Chrissy and her future is concerned. Also takes some mild inspiration from a scene in the Tommy Lee Jones movie 'Volcano'.
"I don't get how you're able to do any of this!" Remarked one Jason Carver to his ex-girlfriend, Chrissy Cunningham, as he followed her around as she tended to various individuals at the site of an explosion.
Chrissy sighed but ignored him to focus on her job as an EMT to provide help where it was needed for anyone at the site. Wondering why the Hell the Universe had chosen this particular day for Jason to take notice of her as he'd been driving by when last she knew, he was supposed to be miles away back in Hawkins. Where she hadn't been for years and intended to keep it that way unless it couldn't be helped. "Hey! I'm trying to talk to you, Chris!"
"And I'm trying to do my job, Jason!" She called back without looking his way as she headed to a teen girl to check on her.
"Job? What job? Checking on total strangers!?" He asked in disbelief while Chrissy was very heavily considering getting the Police on the scene to get him out of there as his presence was seriously unneeded.
She looked his way after kneeling down to the teenager to check on the arm she'd been holding tenderly. "That's part of my job as an EMT. Helping them with their injuries."
"But they're strangers, Chris! You don't know them at all!"
Chrissy sighed and shook her head at how he was acting. "I don't actually need to know them to do my job! Now, please leave before I have one of the Police Officers on the scene make you."
"Y-Yeah, she's trying to help me and you're not helping how I'm feeling!" The girl in front of Chrissy told him with an unhappy look.
He scowled at her and Chrissy sighed in an agitated manner and looked for an Officer on the scene and called out to him. Something Jason wasn't happy about at all judging by the look on his face and was especially more unhappy when the Officer made him leave. "What a jerk." Murmured the girl quietly.
"Yeah, sadly he still is. But let's focus on taking care of you instead of thinking about him."
"Deal!"
Chrissy smiled at her and carefully tended to the girl's arm while yet again feeling proud of the path she'd chosen for herself. As it allowed her to help others out when needed.
Author's Notes: Glad I got that out of my system and I do hope folks enjoyed! I've got another idea where Chrissy's a Police Captain I'm gonna try and do soon.
