Leo gazed at the sheer size of the Mess Hall in awe. It looked like it could hold all of the students at his school...times 12! There were Multiple tables lined with all kinds of foods, from burgers, fries and pizza, to dumplings, pasta, and tacos. Kids around him chatted as they chose the foods they wanted, some with more than one plate.

"C'mon Luke, there is no way you can eat all of that food." A voice said close to him. The source of the voices came from a girl with a curly ponytail and a pink dress, sitting next to a boy with a blue cap and sweater, and he was surrounded by multiple plates of food. "I can too eat it all Flora!" He said to the girl, a British accent in his words. The sounds of chanting caught his attention as he could see three children, all with cups for heads, pouring multiple sodas into their heads, a group of children cheering them all on. He turned his head again to see a girl chomping down cupcakes with red frosting "Easy Rocky, you can't eat all of them." a taller girl says beside her "C'mon Vella, you know I love cupcakes with red frosting!" She said, her voice laced with sugar as she jumped up and down.

Leo heard his stomach grumble again and he quickly grabbed a plate so he could get some food, but found that he was overwhelmed by the choices "You doing OK Kid?" A voice asked beside him. He looked to see the teen with blue hair looking at him concerned "Yeah, It's just that there's a lot of food here and I'm a bit overwhelmed..." Leo admitted. "Well, you can always ask Chef Saltbaker to whip you up one of his specialties. " He said. Leo tilted his head "Chef Who?" He asked. The entire mess hall seemed to get quiet, and the kids seemed to stare at him in shock, horror even. Did he say something wrong? "You don't know. About the greatest chef in the camp?" The boy asked quietly. Leo slowly shook his head. "Yeah, that needs to be fixed right now." The boy said as all the campers seemed to tale a deep breath and yell

"OH CHEF!!"

The room rumbled at the sheer volume of their combined voices. "Chef Saltbaker! We have a culinary emergency! We got a kid that doesn't know about your greatness!" The boy yelled. Leo began to back away "Uh...It's alright, maybe I can just have a few French fries..." Leo said, only to be stopped by someone standing behind him. Leo looked up to see a big, portly being behind him, and was wearing a chef's uniform, but the strangest thing was that his body was transparent, and near his head appeared to be...salt? "Meet Chef Saltbaker, the greatest chef in the lands." The boy said. Saltbaker bowed in front of the boy as the kids applauded him

"Oh thank You, Thank You! You children are like cherubs to me!" He said. The chef then turned back to Leo, "Now then, to correct this culinary error." He said, a smile growing on his face. Leo nervously backed away and Saltbaker grabbed his arm, taking him by the arm and taking him to his "Private Tasteing Room." He sat Leo in a chair and walked to a kitchen connected to the room. "Now you stay there, and trust me when I say, It'll be an experience you never forget." He said, slamming the kitchen door. Leo was incredible confused by the experience, not just what happened moments ago, but everything that had happened to him the second he got to camp. Magic Counselors? kids with powers? a camp that seemed to exist in it's own little world? It seemed like one big fever dream, and it was making his head spin from the craziness. But if he was being honest, it did beat going to the world's largest Tax return.

Moments later, Saltbaker returned to him, balancing plates on his arms and head. The smell of the food wafted towards Leo's nose, making his mouth water. Chef Saltbaker placed the dishes in front of Leo. His eyes had widened, he had never seen anything like this before! The portly saltshaker chuckled at him "Go on! Have a bite!" He said. Leo looked at the dishes, unable to pick which one he wanted to try first. His eyes then landed on a plate of bao buns. He picked one of them up, and took a small bite from it...and then another and another. To his surprise, the inside of the bao buns had been given the same stuff you would find inside of pizza, cheese, pepperoni, marinara sauce and (Leo's personal favorite topping) JalapeƱos!

Leo found himself devouring the pizza bao buns, until he was frantically licking the plate for crumbs. Chef Saltbaker pulled him by the back of his collar "Now don't forget, that was only the appetizer in this 3 course meal, it's not over yet." He told him, pushing another plate in front of him. To his delight, Leo had discovered it was basket of hot wings and fries, but each one seemed to have its own certain flavor to it. One of them tasted like the first time he rode a Rollercoaster, while the other one tasted like when he had gotten surprised at a surprise party for his birthday.

When he finished that, he gazed at the desert plate beside him, which had a white cake with multiple wings on it. Leo took a small bite of the cake and found that the flavors practically melted in his mouth he seemed to drift out of his seat and into heaven itself. He took a few more bites of the cake, each one sending him deeper into his sweet journey. He felt invincible! He felt as if he was on the cusp of victory!

By the time Leo finished the cake, he had leaned back into his seat, letting out a happy sight. Saltbaker walked over to him "So? What did you think?" He asked. Leo looked up at him "I felt like I was in heaven." He replied with a dreamy look. Saltbaker smiled as he opened the door and walked back into the mess hall. The kids went quiet once more. Leo didn't understand, didn't chefs LIKE it when you said their food was good? He got up from his chair and walked to the chef's side.

However, what Leo didn't expect was for Chef Saltbaker to pick him up, put him on one of his shoulders and shout "HE LOVES IT!" The entire hall bursted into cheers at the revelation. Leo's eyes widened at the chef's sudden change in attitude, but, for the moment, he smiled at the positive attention. Saltbaker winked Leo, and the boy chuckled back, he didn't know that even a simple dinner at this camp could be exciting.

However, this didn't change his mind about escaping, he just had to wait for the right moment...
