Back at the squad room, the team got together to discuss the case.
"What do we got?" asked Captain Cragen.
"Liana Thomson 16-years-old been missing since 6:00 last night." said Benson.
She then placed a recent picture of Liana on a board.
"Amber alert is out." informed Munch.
"So far nothing."
"Liana's phone keeps going to voicemail. It's either off or dead." Fin informed.
"All right, where are we with finding her?" Cragen wanted to know.
"Stabler's in with the dad, and when he's done we'll head to her school." Benson told.
"Take Fin and go now. Munch check out to see if Liana has any social media pages, and then go to her room to see if you can find any clues."
And the three detectives left to do their investigations. In the interview room, Stabler spoke to Mr. Thomson.
"Do you and Liana have any other family in the city?"
"No, it's just us. And none of my ex-wife's family members live in New York."
"Does she have any friends?"
"She's got a couple at school."
"Has she been upset about anything lately?"
"No I don't think so. But hey she's a teenager she's unpredictable."
Stabler gave him a look uncertainty.
At the P.S. 90, Benson and Fin spoke to Ms. Edwards.
"So she is missing." she said.
"Can you tell us how's she's been in school lately? Anything that raises some red flags?" asked Fin.
"I noticed that a few months ago her grades began slipping, and she began to withdraw from others."
"Makes sense since that's when her mom walked out." Benson said.
"And then a while ago she started getting better."
"How long is a while?"
"About three, four weeks ago."
"Does she have any friends here we can talk to?" Fin wondered.
"She does have two friends, Hilary and Martin."
Hilary was at cheerleader practice and Martin was studying in the library, so Benson went to speak to Hilary while Fin went to talk to Martin.
"So she's missing?" asked Hilary, as she walked over to the bleachers with Benson.
"It's looking like that."
"Oh my god."
"Is there anything you can tell me about her?"
"She's a great girl. But she's been having a hard time with her dad."
"Her dad?"
"Ever since her mom left, Mr. Thomson's been going out with girls from NYU. And I don't mean professors."
"How did Liana take that?"
"(Scoffs), how would you feel if your dad dated girls young enough to be your older sister?"
"Right."
In the library, Martin and Fin were talking about Liana. Like Hilary, he knew about Liana's issues with her dad.
"I feel bad for Liana. I mean first her mom leaves then she's basically ditched by her dad." Martin told him.
"I take it with her dad's new social life he doesn't have time to pay as much attention to her anymore."
"Bingo."
"I really tried to help her. And be there for her." Hillary told to Benson.
"But lately I've gotten busy with cheer leading practice, and this guy named Colin and I have been dating for a while." Hilary admitted.
"How was Liana coping with that?"
"At first she was sad, but then she got busy."
"With what?"
"I don't know. But I thought maybe she met somebody."
"How's she been lately?" Fin wondered.
"To be honest she's been kinda lonely and sad." Martin said.
"I know she probably needed company, but I've been hard at work to apply for a scholarship."
"I get ya. But in the free time you've had have you noticed any chance in her?"
"Well I did notice something kinda lightened her mood. But I'm not sure what it was."
Back at the precinct, the detectives shared what they discovered.
"I did some digging into the ex-Mrs. Thomson, and it turns out she ran off with a wealthier co-worker." Stabler informed.
"That explains Mr. Thomson's dating choices." said Cragen.
"Yeah, to prove he's still got it, he goes out with girls young enough to be his daughter." Benson.
"What did Liana's school has to say?" Cragen wondered.
"Ms. Edwards and Liana's friends said that she'd been really sad and lonely. But a few weeks ago, her mood changed." Fin explained.
"So what happened?" Stabler wanted to know.
"I think I may know." Munch piped up.
"Find anything in her room or on her computer?" wondered Benson.
"There wasn't anything on her social media pages, but I did find something interesting on her computer."
He got on his computer, typed in some words, and the site appeared on the screen. It was called A Little Bit of Sugar . com
"A little bit of sugar?" read Fin.
"Are you a gentlemen looking for the company of a nice young lady? Check out our site and agency to find the woman for you." Benson read.
"A sugar daddy website." observed Stabler.
"Looks like Liana found herself another kind of daddy." Munch declared.
