Estelle stands at the entrance of the isle, a crowd begins to gather around her, whispering among each other. She could hear her name being spoken under soft breathes through the wave of strangers. Her heart pounds under her bosoms, her crystal blue eyes darting from left to right at those standing around her.
"Do they already know who I am? Did my crimes get on to the news already?"
She thought to herself as her mind turns into a raging storm of emotions, unable to withstand the harsh reality of her life. So much for a new beginning here on the island. Her crimes and her being stripped of her title were now out in the open for everyone to see. Lowering her head down, she fights back the tears that were building up in the corners of her eyes, feeling like a freak show on display. Lifting her hands up she places them at the sides of her head and closes her eyes, hoping everything will disappear and she will wake up back in her bed and all this would just be a terrible nightmare. For a moment she felt her hands growing cold but before she could take full notice a deep make voice catches her attention.
"Well, well what do we have here? A princess gone bad; someone pinch me! I honestly can't believe my eyes!"
A male voice came forward from the sea of people, Estelle lifts her head up, red puffy eyes look in the direction in which she heard the voice. Her eyes widen to see a tall man with blue hair that looks similar to that of flames. His black leather attire and robe made him look intimidating. She takes a step back while he continues to make his way over to her. Wiping her wet cheeks with the back of her right hand, parting her lips she struggles to speak.
"Who are you?"
"Who am I? Seriously? Have you never read a book on mythology before?"
He spoke in a harsh and taunting tone of voice.
His tone got under her skin, the way he spoke to her as if she was a dumb little girl. Tossing her hands down to her sides, taking a forceful step forward. Her chest pumped up and her narrowed eyes glaring up at him.
"Don't treat me like a dumb kid! Just tell me who you are already!"
She snaps at him, matching his fierce energy.
"Oh, she can bite back! And to answer your question, I'm hades, God of the Underworld."
Her hues widen to his response as many more thoughts came flowing through her mind.
"A god?"
She thought to herself
"Was this place meant for villains?"
She thought once more.
"Hello! Earth to princess!"
Hades said while waving his hand in front of her face trying to snap her out of her daze. She blinks a few times and shakes her head lightly.
"Hades? That means this island is filled with v…."
Before she could finish, he cuts her off and finishes her sentence.
"Villains? Yes, packed full of them to be exact kid."
Did the councilmen really look at her now as a villain? Her heart aches to that very thought.
"I see, so that means I'm a villain now, since I was sentence to live the remainder of my life here."
She folds her arms over her chest and sighs softly, trying to process everything going on in her young life. He could see this was a lot for her to take in all at once. Turning to focus on the crowd behind him, he throws his arms out and yells.
"Get lost!"
He snarls at them all, the crowd gasp in fear to his harsh reaction towards them. Some sucking their teeth and mumbling under their breath while walking away to go back to their daily activities. Hades turns his attention back to Estelle.
"So kid, lets get one thing straight! Don't ever cry in public, got that!? It makes you look weak and easy to pick on."
He places his hand onto her left shoulder, gently digging his fingertips into her shoulder. She looks up at him and she could sense he was trying to be sincere to her feelings.
"Is this place really that serious that crying in frowned upon?"
She thought to herself, trying to learn what she could of this new land so she may hopefully survive.
"Look kid, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and take you under my wing. I'll show you the ends and outs of this place, so you'll be able to toughen up a bit. Sound cool to you kid?"
He says, patting her roughly on her shoulder, taking a step to the side he extends his right arm outwards toward an ally filled with vendors of different variety and people traveling in and out of it.
"First let's take a stroll through the island and I'll show you all the spots you need to know about."
He pats her once more on her shoulder, encouraging her to walk with him through the ally ways to explore and get a good feel of the island and its atmosphere. The sound of the busy ally way made it difficult for her to even hear her own thoughts, the sounds of steam piercing through the air from broken pipes. Everyone talking to one another making deals at the vendors for food or fabrics. The smell of dirty clothes and poor hygiene raided her nose and caused a few wrinkles to curl at the bridge of her nose. Hades looks down at her and could see the disgust look on her face.
"Gotta get used to it kid, you have a long life ahead of you."
He chuckles to himself.
"There's many ally ways that sell food, fabrics, clothes, you think of it there's someone here selling it."
She looks up at him with concern painted across her face.
"I don't have any money though. How will I afford anything?"
"That's the great thing about being a villain kid, you just take it but if you want to be miss goody girl you can simple trade with the vendors."
He says while rolling his eyes at the end.
The two of them continue to roam the endless ally-ways upon the isle. They came across a shop with a large sign that said "Lady Tremaine Curl up and dye" a startled look develops on her face when she read the name, Hades on the other hand simple laughs at her reaction.
"Take a chill pill! It's a play on words kid, It's a hair salon."
He teased her, nudging his elbow into her shoulder, she leans back a bit to look past hades to try and sneak a peak through the plastic flaps that dangle in front of the doorway.
"Don't worry kid, you'll get your chance to change up your look in due time, we have more to see throughout the isle."
Hade says in a calm tone. Kids run around them through the ally-ways pushing and shoving Estelle.
"Hey, watch where you're going!"
She yells at the kids who kept on running and laughing at her. Hade snickers, pulling her closer to him.
"Never let your guard down, those kids will purposely bump into you to pick pocket your goods. So always keep your money and valuables out of reach."
Her fair cheeks flush a faint red, having him being so "Protective" of her, reminding her of her own father and how much she missed him dearly.
They came to a black tunnel, standing in front of it, she could hear seagulls and people talking. Cocking an eyebrow, she looks up to Hades with a confused expression upon her face.
"What's in there?"
She asked puzzled.
Hades looks down at her with a grin on his rugged face.
"You'll see, I have a feeling you might like it."
He pats her on the back before lightly pushing her to walk into the black tunnel. The sounds of their shoes clicking against the tunnel echoes until they reached the end. Her eyes readjust to the nee lightening when they approached the end. A large pirate ship was dock against the port where small vendors and staircases hung against the side of the island. Pirates roam all over the edge of the isle. Her blue eyes scan the entire area, feeling excited for once.
"Pirates! How cool!"
Estelle had never met pirates before, only read about them in books back at home. Walking down a wooden plank to a set of stairs, they roam the area seeing a restaurant called "Fish and Chips." Her stomach beings to growl, holding onto her stomach, she groans softly.
Hades looks over to her and could tell by her facial expression that she was hungry.
"Ugh! Let's go inside and grab a bite to eat."
"Are you sure? I don't want you spending money on me when you just met me."
She spoke feeling a little embarrassed.
"Don't sweat it kid, lets just eat and head out."
He enters the establishment with Estelle right behind him. Walking to a table he sits down, and she follows his lead. He bangs his right hand on the tabletop, which startled her and causing her to jump in her seat.
"Hey, can I get some service over here!?"
He yells through the restaurant.
Not too long after a dirty looking woman comes over to the table with an annoyed look on her filthy face.
"Yeah, Yeah, I'm coming! What do you want?"
She spoke with an attitude as she glares at Hades.
"Get us the two usuals and make it quick, I don't have all day!"
He snarls back at her, glaring up at her like she was the dirt under his boots. She rolls her eyes and walks to the back to prep the meals.
"See what I did there kid? You gotta be cruel and demanding to get by on the isle. You think you can do that?"
He spoke as he leans back in his chair, his left elbow hanging over the top of his chair.
"Yeah, I think I can handle it. Might take some time to adjust but doesn't sound too difficult."
She responds.
"You don't have time kid! The longer you act like a princess the harder it will be for you to make a name for yourself here."
He spoke sternly.
She places her hands onto her lap, lowering her gaze down, feeling like she was going to struggle a lot more than she imagined. Sighing softly, she looks back up at him and fakes a smile.
"Very well, I will work on it immediately."
She spoke, sounding a bit defeated.
"Don't sound so dramatic, it's not like the end of the world for ya kid."
The sound of laughter caught her attention from over at the tabletop bar in the far corner of the restaurant. Her gaze went from Hades over to the area to see that there were kids her age dressed like pirates, laughing among each other. One of the kids was a dark-skinned girl with braided blue hair, she was very pretty but seems like a strong type. The other two were young men one darked hair and blonde hair. All three were wearing torn up leather attire that made them look tough and really cool looking. Estelle hopes that one day she can look and be that awesome when she gets accustomed to the lifestyle here on the isle.
Hades looks over to the area that had Estelle's attention, tilting his head back he chuckles a bit. He parts his lips and begins to speak, catching her attention once more.
"Ah the daughter of Ursula, son of Gaston, and son of Captain hook. Uma, Gil, and Harry. They are as wicked as they come on this isle at your age. You can definitely learn a thing or two from them."
Before Estelle could reply back to him, the woman with their food comes back to their table and drops the plates of food in front of us, causing the food upon the plate to almost fall off the plate itself. The look of disgust came to Estelle's face, feeling very disrespected. She places her hands on the edge of the table, forcefully and quickly getting onto her feet and into the woman's face. The look of rage was painted against her face as she spoke harshly to the woman.
"Continue to act disrespectful towards me and see how fast I drag you out of here by your raggedy ass hair and put you in your place!"
The woman was in shock that she without no hesitation got into her face and threatens her. Sucking her teeth, she places her hands up and takes a step back.
"Whatever you say princess!"
Estelle clinches her fist tightly, feeling her painted nails digging into the palms of her hands. She was sick and tired of being called princess and being reminded that she lost her title back home. Without even taking a moment to think, she lifts her left hand up and swings at the woman's face, causing the woman to stumble over a few chairs at the table next to them. Her eyes were filled with shock that she was just hit. Without a word she quickly makes her way back to the kitchen. The three kids at the top tables look over to Estelle with a smug but impressed look on their faces. Hades barks out in laughter, clapping his hands loudly.
"Now that's what I'm talking about kid!"
Estelle exhales heavily through her nose and sits down with force, adjusting the plate of food nicely in front of her and beings to eat in silence. Hades could tell she was not in the mood to talk about what just happened, so he too begins to eat and to drop the subject. Once they were finished, Hades tosses some coins onto the table and stands up, Estelle follows and storms out of the restaurant without waiting for Hades. She looks up into the sky and could see that the sun was slowly sinking in the distance.
"It's getting late, and I need to figure out where I'm going to live on this trash can of an island."
She says, folding her arms across her chest.
Hades place his hand on her right shoulder.
"You can stay with me for now kid, so don't even stress it. My place is no where as big as the castle you grew up in, but I have a couch you can crash on."
She was still stewing over the attitude the servant had with her earlier, yanking her right shoulder from his hold she walks down the wooden pathway.
"Sure, that's fine, let's just go already. It stinks here."
She said as she kept on walking, hades placing his gloved hands into his jacket pockets. An annoyed look came to his face seeing that she was now giving him the unwanted attitude. They made their way to the black tunnel, the sounds of their shoes against the tunnel floor echoes. Estelle gently leaps out of the tunnel, crossing her arms under her small bosoms and glances up at him, waiting for him to lead the way towards his "home". He steps out of the tunnel, licking the corner of his mouth while looking down at her still seeing an attitude painted upon her face.
"Well, what are we waiting for?"
She snaps at him.
He chuckles softly before rolling his eyes some, he begins to head towards a different ally way where more busted pipes leaked, causing steam to fill the air making it almost impossible to see past your nose. Different colored drapes of fabric drape over the top of the alleyway, dingy and wet from the steam, the dripped droplets of water down to the concrete floor making little puddles all over the place. Estelle follows behind him, pushing through vendors and random adults who were also making their way around the area. Ten minutes go by of walking and they came to a somewhat quiet area, where an iron gate with a large skeleton skull was crafted into the gate. Her blue eyes scan the entrance, and they came across a sign that said "beware" with a silhouette of a three headed dog on it. Estelle swallows hard as she was not one for dogs more so one with more than one head. Hades pulls out a key that was in the shape of a skull, placing it into the lock and pushing the gate open he snickers.
"Don't worry kid, he won't bite…hard."
Her head spins back towards him quickly, white strands of her lock's sways with her movement, eyes widen to the idea she would have to live with the beast.
"Oh, come on now!"
He said, motioning her to follow behind, so she did what she was told and follows inside the gate, closing it behind her until it locks back in place. They enter the cave like tunnel, the sounds of dogs barking echoes so loudly inside that Estelle almost jumps out of her skin, covering her eyes from the sound. Hades continues to snicker at her reaction as they pass a two seated bike that sat on train tracks, but he passes it by and walks down the trail. She kept up with him, looking upwards to see blue electricity sparking in the ceiling from time to time, wondering if it was even safe for them to even be down here. It didn't take long for them to reach the end, a large open cave like room was before her. Staircase leading down to the wooden platform, dusty old curtains shielding what she assumed was his "bedroom", a couch in the middle of the room and a few home décor items were hung on the wall and sat on tabletops. The lighting in the room could be better but it wasn't as bad as she expected.
Her eyes scan all around her once more when the sound of the dogs barking caught her attention once more. Hades bust out laughing, pointing to the record player by the stair steps. He nudges her before he went down the steps and turned it off.
"I had to kid! I got you good!"
Estelle groans at him for playing such a cruel trick on her but then again, he was a villain so she should have known better than to trust him. Rolling her eyes and shaking her head she walks down the steps and looks around the small living area. He walks towards the curtains and pulls them back to reveal a couch inside that had a few pillows and blankets upon it. It wasn't ravishing like she was accustomed to, but it would have to do for now.
"I'll go steal another couch for in here so we both have somewhere comfortable to sleep, but for now I'll take the chair."
He said, letting go of the curtain and walks over to the chair and sits down on it with his left leg resting on the arm of the chair.
"You can crash at any time, I on the other hand will roam the isle during the late-night hours, get into some trouble."
He chuckles to his words.
Her eyes narrow a bit that he was just going to leave her here and go do his own thing, then again, she had no say in what he does with his life. Turning her attention to the curtains she pulls them out of her way to look at the couch again. Groaning in frustration she drops the curtains and turns to face him.
"I want to go too! You can't just leave me here alone! I want to see the night life here."
She complained to him.
His facial expression changed from being funny and joking around to a more serious look.
"Absolutely not kid! It's not safe out there at night and with you looking the way you are and you JUST arriving here today, it's not a good idea for you to be outside."
She stomps her left foot on the ground and folds her arms at her chest once more, throwing a fit. Deep down she knew he was right, one wrong move and something bad could happen to her and without her magic she wouldn't be able to protect herself.
"Fine! But once time has passed and I start to look and act like I belong her I want to go out at night and check things out, got it!"
She demanded.
He tosses his hands up and chuckles at her.
"Alright, alright kid, I'll take you out for the night life once you start getting more familiar with the isle. Geez, talk about tantrums."
She removes her arms from under her bosoms and places her hands onto her hips, leaning forward she groans again at him making a comment about her throwing a fit.
"Tantrum, really? All because I want to explore the night life one of these days where back home, I was isolated in the castle for seventeen years? Excuse me for wanting to see more of the world."
"Look, I'm not going to argue with you kid, it's getting late so get yourself comfortable and into bed. I won't be out that long. I'll start teaching you the ropes on how to survive here and you'll be able to be on your own in no time kid."
He motions his right hand for her to go into the small room and to lay down on the couch.
She tosses her head back, groaning even more that she had to take orders from him, but she did what she was told and went into the small room passed the curtains. Sitting down, she works on removing her shoes and socks, once removed she adjust herself under the torn and worn-out blanket and lays her head on the small pillows. Once she had laid down it didn't take long for her to realize she was a lot more tired than she thought she was. Feeling her eyes growing heavy, the sounds of his foot steps barely echo in the cave like room before she ends up falling asleep.
