"Wait, she what?!" Sally asked, growing angry.

"Whoa, calm down!" Kiki said, trying to calm her friend. "We don't know if it's for true."

"You don't know? Fiona could be cheating on poor Scourge!" Sally gasped, her voice louder than Kiki would have liked it to be.

"We don't know that for sure," Rouge assured the brown squirrel. "We're just trying to be cautious."

"And Scourge himself ordered it too... sounds like he's not a trusting boyfriend himself," Sally scoffed.

"You guys know that I'm sat right next to you, right?" Scourge asked. "We're supposed to work on this group project together, remember?"

"We are," said Rouge. "Or at least, three of us are trying to."

Sally turned to another table, seeing Fiona with Sonic, Rosy, and a lynx with light brown fur named Lightning, the last of whom seemed to be whispering something in Fiona's ear and making her giggle. "Uh... I don't think that we have to look that long."

"First of all, it's me and Kiki who are looking," Rouge said. "Secondly, shut up and focus."

"Thirdly," Kiki added, "what makes you say that?"

"Look over to Fiona's table," Sally said, tilting her head to point.

Scourge looked over, looking Lightning up and down and seeing his hand go to Fiona's leg before she pushed it away. "Hmm..."

"How about a bet?" Sally asked.

"Chaos, Sally," Kiki sighed.

"I'll bet ten rings that Fiona's cheating on Scourge."

"Please don't-"

"Twenty five if she's not," Rouge said.

"Rouge!" Kiki said.

"Deal," Sally said, shaking hands with the white bat.

"What the hell, you guys?" Kiki said.

"Oh, come on," Rouge said. "We'll both be twenty five rings richer if we're correct."

"Wait, no way," Sally said quickly. "I'm not giving you twenty five each. Just twenty five to you, Rouge."

"Well, what does Kiki get out of it?" Rouge asked.

"Hmm... I'll do her homework for two weeks. And if I win, she does the same for me."

Kiki shook her head, burying herself into the table and groaning loudly before extending her hand. "Deal," she said, her voice muffled by her arms.

The class was soon over, and throughout the rest of the day, Kiki had been trying to follow Fiona around the school in any classes that they shared, and if Kiki wasn't in a class with Fiona, Rouge would undertake it as well. Rouge was sat in an English class with Lightning and Fiona next to each other, and she saw the two of them holding hands, quickly snapping a picture with her phone and sending it to Kiki.

The brown hedgehog checked her phone under the table and gasped, texting. "Fiona and Lightning?"

"Looks that way," Rouge replied. "Meet after school?"

Kiki nodded, waiting for the teacher to pass before getting her phone back out. "Just us two. No Scourge."

"Sure."

The two had finished up their classes for the rest of the day, and they had to keep their following of the red fox on the down-low for the whole day anyway, but the last few lessons were difficult. Even at lunchtime it was hard to get much on what Fiona was doing as she didn't even turn up, Scourge having said that Fiona brought her own lunch so she didn't sit with anyone else, a statement that he didn't fully believe himself.

The end of the day came, and the students all spilled out to go outside, with Kiki and Fiona meeting ahead of everyone else. They didn't go right to the bus stop, instead waiting a few feet away behind the school gate and trying to stay in hiding. As more students came out, they happened to see Fiona appearing without Scourge in tow. They were more surprised to see Lightning appear a few minutes later, sitting next to her.

Kiki turned to Rouge, giving a shushing motion with her mouth as she moved forwards, getting her phone out to record. "Here goes nothing..."

"I can't believe that you got Scourge in trouble," Lightning laughed. "What did you do?"

"Planted some nude mags in his locker during lunch," Fiona smirked. "I told the dumb son of a bitch that I had my own lunch and I wanted to eat it outside."

"That explains why you stole my lunch," Lightning chuckled.

"I don't believe this..." said Rouge.

"Shh," Kiki said, looking ahead.

"Did you hear that?" Fiona asked, turning around.

"Fuck!" Kiki said, hiding around the corner with her hand to her mouth.

"Probably just some other kid leaving late," Lightning replied. "So... did you dump him yet?"

"I've tried, but he's not getting the hint," Fiona said. "Every time that I make out with him in public, I want to vomit. I don't even touch him or acknowledge him when we're alone, and we haven't been along a whole lot, which is fine by me."

"He really is dull, huh?" Lightning said. "Tall and strong, but thick as bricks."

"Exactly," Fiona smiled. "And I need a smart man in my life... and one that's so good at fu-"

"Shh," Lightning said, looking around. "You never know who's listening."

"Just saying," Fiona giggled. "I can't believe that I lost my virginity to Scourge..."

Lightning shook his head, smiling. "Hmm... should we get in some time of our own before he gets here?"

"We could... but we don't want anyone to see... I'd rather save it for when we get back home," Fiona replied.

"I don't see Scourge out here right now," Lightning said. "The bus won't be here for another five minutes."

"Hmm... maybe a quick one," Fiona chuckled.

Kiki stopped recording. "Unbelievable... how could she do that to him?"

"I know..." Rouge replied, rushing around the corner and seeing Lightning and Fiona making out. She got her phone and took a quick and blurry picture, rounding the corner back to a confused Kiki who gave her an odd look. "What?"

"I had to get hard evidence!" Rouge said, showing Kiki the picture on her phone. "See?"

"Okay, so they're kissing, but it's way too blurry," Kiki said. "Even if we show that to Scourge, he wouldn't be able to make sense of it."

Rouge sighed, going into her settings to enhance the picture and making it clearer. "Better?" she asked, showing it to Kiki.

"That actually is," Kiki said. "Shit... you know what this means, right?"

"That we both lost a bet to Sally?" Rouge asked.

"No, worse than that," Kiki replied. "Fiona really is cheating on Scourge... and she's about doing it in plain sight."

"We can't let Scourge find out," Rouge said.

"Can't let me find out what?" Scourge asked, popping up behind them.

"Fuck..." Kiki muttered. "Hey, uh... how did it go with the teacher?"

"I got caught out for bringing porn magazines to school... which I definitely didn't do at all today," Scourge said. "Someone definitely put them in my locker."

"About that-" Kiki began.

"I got a week's suspension," Scourge sighed. "So that means that I'll be spending less time with Fiona."

"Scourge, we really should-" Rouge started.

"No, it's fine," the green hedgehog replied. "It's not like it could get any worse."

He passed the two girls and rounded the corner... seeing Fiona and Lightning still making out. He stopped before them and the two looked at him, Fiona's eyes widening before she sighed, turning to say something to Lightning that Scourge couldn't hear before walking over to him.

"Hey there, Scourge," Fiona said, pursing her lips. "Yeah... I've thought about it and I think that we should break up."

"You... no way, you weren't kissing him," Scourge shook his head. "No fucking way. Not this skinny little creep."

"It's been going on for like a month," Fiona explained.

"And... you didn't think to tell me?" Scourge asked.

"I tried to. It's not my fault that you didn't get it," Fiona sighed. "All the times I've kissed you in public lately? Just an act. I don't actually like doing it with you."

"Then... why didn't you say something?" Scourge asked. "You couldn't have even just text me and let me know that it's over?"

"I did think about doing that for her," said Lightning.

"You stay out of this," Scourge huffed, turning back to Fiona. "You. Answer me."

"Well, it's because you are so damn stupid. I needed a much smarter man in my life, and Lightning is who I need."

"So... what, you plan on using him to get your grades up?" Scourge asked.

"Well, you sure as hell weren't going to help," Fiona said. "And it's not even that you're dumb. You just do all these little cute things for me all the time... it makes me want to puke. I want a man, not a boy."

"We're still teenagers!" Scourge replied. "We don't even fully know what we want yet!"

"That may be true, but I know one thing that I don't want," Fiona said. "It's you."

Lightning looked up ahead. "Bus is here."

Fiona smirked at Scourge. "You coming with us?"

"You planted those magazines, didn't you?" Scourge asked.

"I did, well done," Fiona said. "Now, if you don't mind, we must be leaving."

Scourge growled. "I... I can't fucking believe it..."

Rouge and Kiki were standing behind Scourge, watching Fiona and Lightning getting onto the bus and holding hands. Kiki walked up behind Scourge and turned to nod at Rouge, who nodded back and went onto the bus as well, touching Scourge's shoulder as she passed him and giving a sad look.

"Are you going too?" Scourge asked.

"Not when my best friend needs me," Kiki replied. "Besides, I have super speed like you, remember? I can go back home any time that I want."

"Great," Scourge said. "Well, how about you do that and I go to Fiona's place and put my fist through Lightning's head."

"Scourge, come on," Kiki replied as the bus honked.

"Hey! Are you getting on?" the bus driver asked.

"We'll walk home, actually!" Kiki called. "Sorry for wasting your time!"

The driver shook his head and drove off as Scourge looked up, seeing rain beginning to fall from the sky. "Typical... things were shitty enough and now it's fucking raining..."

Kiki nodded, reaching into her magic backpack to get an umbrella. "Here."

Scourge shifted idly to get under the umbrella, seeing that he was face to face with Kiki. He blushed a little bit and saw how her long hair-like quills had dampened a bit, matting around her face. He reached to move the hair a way and looked into her eyes, blushing a bit before clearing his throat.

"I... I should leave," he said. "Thanks for being here for me. I'm just... I'm just going to go home."

"Okay..." Kiki said. "You want me to walk with you?"

"No, I'll manage," Scourge replied, turning to leave. Kiki grabbed his arm to stop him, and she smiled, handing her umbrella over to him. "You sure?"

"I can always make another one in this bag," Kiki smiled.

The green hedgehog gave a small nod and ran off, using his speed as he left. Kiki did the same, making her way towards her apartment but not bothering with an umbrella of her own. She got back to her place and went to the bathroom, drying herself off and changing clothes too before going to her couch. She intended and vegging out for the rest of the day when her phone's ringtone played, so she answered it after seeing the caller ID.

"Hey, Rouge. What's up?" Kiki asked.

"I just wanted to check on you, see if you were okay," Rouge said. "It'll suck having lost that bet to Sally, though."

"That's not my main concern," Kiki sighed. "In fact, I'm more worried about Scourge now. He might actually try to fight Lightning, and he already got suspended after Fiona planted the magazines in his locker. If he starts a fight at school, he's going to get himself expelled."

Rouge sighed on her end. "Well, you know him better than anyone else, right? Even more so than Fiona knows him."

"I know, and he usually makes good on his word," said Kiki, rubbing her head. "If he says he's going to kill Lightning, then... well, he probably won't kill him, but he'll hurt him pretty bad. Or... maybe he would if I weren't there."

"What do you mean?" Rouge asked.

"Well, the whole magazine thing is the first suspension Scourge has gotten all year," Kiki said. "He's not as violent as he used to be, especially when he was a kid. But now that Fiona's broken up with him, he doesn't have anything holding him back. If anything, what happened is just going to make things worse."

Rouge giggled a bit on her end. "Well... maybe not with Fiona around, sure. But I don't think that the reason he's been so calm was because he was with her."

Kiki blushed. "You don't think he's better just because I'm around, right?"

"I think that that is the case, yes. One hundred percent."

The brown hedgehog sighed again. "I should go check on Scourge, shouldn't I?"

"If he's still got a place where you can talk to him," Rouge said. "I'd hurry if I were you. And don't forget to kiss him."

"Okay thanks bye," Kiki said, hurriedly hanging up. She typed in Scourge's number, and after a few rings, he picked up. "Hey, Scourge."

"Hi..." Scourge sighed on his end.

"Are... are you okay?"

"Not really, no," Scourge coughed out. "I just got dumped by my girlfriend, I got suspended for a week because of her, and she's got a new boyfriend who's smarter and is probably going to be more accomplished than me when school is over."

Kiki stood up and sighed. "That's it. Get to my place right now."

"I... I don't feel like going out, actually," Scourge said. "I know you don't live far, but-"

"No buts!" Kiki said. "Come over here so that we can talk it out over some hot chocolate."

"Kiki... no," Scourge said. "And before you ask, no coming over here either."

Kiki frowned on her end. "I'm sorry... I'm just trying to cheer you up."

"I know," the green hedgehog said. "And I'll be all right. I just need some time alone, okay? I mean, I'll have plenty for about a week."

"What about your parents?" Kiki asked.

"They know and they're going to work me to the bone with chores," Scourge replied. "But at least Rosy won't bother me much either."

"That's a small mercy," Kiki giggled. "I'll call you every day to check up on, you know."

"I know that," Scourge nodded. "I'll do my best to answer. It just... might not be the best time. I'm sorry."

"No, I get it," Kiki smiled. "After all, what are best friends for?" She felt her expression drop at that, thankful that Scourge couldn't actually see her face right now.

"True enough," Scourge smiled. "I'll see you when I see you. And when my suspension is lifted, I will take you up on that hot chocolate offer."

"I look forward to it. You take care."

"You too. And thanks."

They both hung up, Kiki sitting back and tossing her phone aside. "Just tell him how you feel, you moron..." She sighed heavily.

And that's it for chapter 2! The third and final chapter will be longer and will also feature violence and a sex scene, so warning you all of that now. I'll see you soon for that. Not much else to promote, so... yeah. Until then, take care, and stay tuned.
