The Pocket Elf trudged through the tall grass on her way back to Marinette's, then froze when she heard the grass rustling. Pocket Elf froze as a beautiful smoky gray cat stood in front of her path, and her heart went out to the creature when she saw their was something wrong with its right eye.

Though Pocket Elf wanted to lead the feline to Marinette's, she knew Marinette was about to receive another fluffy visitor after a potion gone wrong.

"He should have been here by now," Marinette told herself as she peered through the window. Cat always came for breakfast, and today was no exception. Though black storm clouds were rolling across the sky. Was it possible he had just stayed home?

Marinette jumped as she heard a soft scratching sound at her door. Opening the door slowly, Marinette was surprised to see a black cat sitting on her front step. The cat was beautiful, its black fur glossy, the eyes a vivid green. It even wore a little gold bell around his neck, just like Cat Noir! Marinette had a soft spot for animals, and she let the cat in. "Where did you come from, little one? Are you hungry?"

The cat looked up at her and meowed, walking between her legs. Marinette giggled as the tail brushed past, the sensation tickling her. "Don't worry, I'll get you some food." at the word "food" the cat started to meow loudly and Marinette opened a tuna can, spooning the contents into a bowl. She also poured fresh milk, and the cat begin to lap delicately, its eyes looking up at her.

She was glad the cat was in good condition, and finally knowing if she didn't eat her breakfast now, it would get cold. She could warm it up for Cat, if he did make it this morning.

Crunching on her cearl, Marinette felt two steady eyes on her. Two steady green eyes, that is. "Are you wanting to cuddle, sweetie?" Marinette asked. The cat meowed and sat down, washing its black paws.

Finishing her food, Marinette stood up with the cat following her to the couch, where she lay down. The cat leaped upon her lap, and Marinette sighed happily. How long had she waited for a fluffy companion to come along? "You can be another best friend, just like Cat Noir is to me," Marinette said, stroking the kitten softly. "I think I'm…." she looked at the cat who staring back at her listening. "Falling in love with him. He very kind and gentle, but silly at the same time." "Have you ever been in love?" Marinette asked, then shook her head smiling. "I'm being so silly! Though between you and me, I think I have fallen for Cat Noir." the small cat meowed and rubbed his face against Marinette's cheek. "Thank you, sweetie."

Just then, Marinette's Pocket Elf came in. "Marinette, you need to give the cat this potion!" "Okay," Marinette said, standing holding the cat in her arms. She trusted her Pocket Elf to guide her, and the cat took it willingly.

A green flash filled the room, and Marinette shut her eyes tightly. When she opened them, Cat Noir was staring at her. "So, your in love with me, Princess?" Marinette stood slack-jawed looking at him. "But you were so fluffy...and…" Cat laughed, titling her chin so her bluebell eyes met his green eyes. "I accidentally spilled a potion on myself and it turned me into a actual cat!" Marinette groaned and covered her face with her hands. Though she meant every word she said, she hadn't known it was Cat Noir! "I love you, too, Princess. Don't be afraid to hide your feelings from me," Cat smiled at her. "I still wish I had a cat though," she said, hugging him around the waist.

"Marinette, Cat, would you come outside with me?" The Pocket Elf asked. Looking at each other, Marinette and Cat followed her outside where it was drizzling lightly. The Pocket Elf whistled and the cat with the hurt eye crept forward. "This is Cinders," The Pocket Elf said, as Marinette's heart went out the small creature. "He has a hurt eye, but it will get better with love and medicine. He needs a good home." "Of course I'll adopt him!" Marinette said, kneeling down and waiting for the cat to come to her.

The cat crept forward, and Marinette could feel the tangles and mats in its smoky fur. "Well, my Kitty, we have work to do. Care to help me?" Cat nodded, a grin spreading across his face.

He would soon show Marinette he would be a worthy protector, and he was happy to help with the small cat. Marinette was happy to have a small companion, and was able to tell Cat her feelings.

His powers would save her soon, for evil was creeping towards the forest, as the rain eased a mist crept over the forest.
