"I hope they have marmalade," Luna commented as they made their way to breakfast. James and Remus were ahead of them. Lily was in front of Luna and Sirius. They had just turned the corner when Luna noticed Severus had joined their little group.

"Morning," she commented.

"Hey, could I talk to you and Lily?" he asked, glancing at Sirius. "Alone?"

Luna smirked as she watched Sirius glare.

"Sure, I'll see you in a minute, Sirius. I promise," she said, giving him a quick kiss. He nodded, running to catch up with James and Remus. Lately, Peter hadn't been spending much time with them. Luna was pretty happy about that. She still didn't trust him and every once in awhile, there was this nagging feeling that there was something else, something bigger.

"What did you need, Severus?" Lily asked.

"Your help. Look, um, I might have accidentally asked Mindee to the dance."

"Accidentally?" Luna asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Shut up," Severus muttered, Luna laughed.

"How can we help?" Lily asked, half glaring at Luna. That only made her laugh louder.

"I, um, see, I don't... dress robes," Severus finally blurted out. Luna stopped laughing and looked at him.

"Hmm, we could ask one of our group, but I know Remus only has one pair. James' wouldnt't fit you."

"What about Frank?" Lily asked. "He's about Severus' size?"

"He doesn't currently hate us either," Luna added. "I can write home and see if Arthur has a spare pair he'd been willing to part with?" she suggested.

"We'll find a pair before the dance," Lily promised.

"Thank you," Severus whispered. "I would ask my housemates, but..."

"You don't want them to know you're not a filthy rich old money pure-blood?" Luna suggested, her eyes sparkling.

"Yes, something like that," Severus agreed.

"We'll figure something out," Lily said. "We should get going, before someone eats all the bacon again."

"It's not his fault, he likes to put it on his eggs," Luna argued, defending her boyfriend. Lily laughed. The trio made their way to the Great Hall, splitting off once they reached the doors.

Luna wondered why Severus was even in Slytherin, he wasn't like the rest of them that she'd met. Of course, she could ask the same question about Marlene, who she personally thought was much more snakelike than lion. She only hoped that whatever she and Lily had been arguing about would lead to more trouble. Luna slid into her spot at the table. She flashed Sirius a huge smile.

"See, told you I'd just be a moment," she stated, "Now, can you pass me some scones, I like the blueberry ones," she added. Sirius smiled back handing her the plate. Luna took one, pausing when she felt someone staring at her. Her eye first flew to Marlene, but she was busy talking to Peter about something.

Slowly, Luna's eyes moved to the head table, where she caught Dumbledore looking away quickly. A shiver passed down her spine. There was something there, something about that nightmare she'd had last night. She shook those thoughts from her head. He was their headmaster, wasn't he supposed to be the one person they could trust?
