Title: Everyone Loves Yukata
Summary: Katsuki battles some unwanted feelings while being forced to go to a summer festival.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything
Bakugou Katsuki was not in a good mood. He wanted to fucking kill Shitty Hair and then Dunce Face and then all of those fucking extras in 1-A for doing this to him or even those who weren't just for being there. He was fucking pissed and it was all fucking bullshit.
The ash-blond hothead knew from the moment he showed up at the rendezvous something was up. His shitty classmates, friends, whatever, couldn't be subtle to save their lives. Kirishima wouldn't meet his eyes looking like a guilty brat who was caught stealing from the cookie jar, and Kaminari and Sero wouldn't stop looking at him and secretly giggling about something like little girls.
A month ago, someone was talking about the upcoming matsuri and how they should go to the festival together. Personally, Katsuki would rather fucking not. He could think up at least a dozen of things he wanted to do and wasting more time with his classmates who he already saw more often than he would be happy with, was not one of them. However, before he knew it, thanks to somewhat association with Kirishima and the others he got fucking dragged into it as well as per usual since the redhead buffoon decided he wanted to be desperately friends with Katsuki.
Crossing his arms and standing a bit further from whatever the fuck was going on with the others, the usually loud ash-blond did wonder who else they were waiting for before he heard the last fucking voice he wished to hear.
'Oh, sorry, we're late.'
Katsuki groaned and purposely looked away ignoring the Nerd and whoever he brought with him. Why the fuck did Deku have to go with them anyway? Why couldn't everyone fucking go in groups as always? It was clear they would split up sooner or later anyway.
'It took us a bit longer to get ready, kero,' said another voice, and Katsuki's eyes snapped to the direction of it. He was wrong. This was the voice of the last person he fucking wished to hear.
When his eyes landed on her, it only became so much worse.
Apparently, apart from Deku, he also came with his usual crew of Cheeks, Glasses, and Froggy.
Katsuki swallowed.
Unlike him, Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero, the newcomers all came dressed in their traditional yukata. It wasn't unusual. Lots of folks were dressed like that. It was a matsuri for crying out loud. But like hell did Katsuki fucking need to see Froggy with her hair held up high and decorated by a kanzashi and her body wrapped in a fancy green with orange flowers yukata looking-looking fucking so damn good.
Fuck my life!
Just looking at her started a reaction, Katsuki had spent the last couple of months so desperately trying to erase. It was hopeless. Just looking at her like this caused his chest to feel fucking tight and anxiety to kick in. He could take down whatever villain no matter his quirk, but one tiny fucking Asui Tsuyu got him all sweaty and nervous and shit.
As if his staring was too intense girl's dark eyes lifted away from Cheek's face, and she looked directly at him for a second before she offered him a soft smile. It was like a curse. The corners of her lips lifted ever so slightly with the tip of her tongue hanging out and he was well a fucking pathetic mess.
It would be a miracle if he did not turn completely red for everyone to see based on how hot his face felt all of a sudden and how quick was his heartbeat.
Damn her.
Logically, the ash-blond knew it wasn't Tsuyu's fault. It wasn't like she fucking knew what she was doing or doing anything at all. He just couldn't…he just couldn't help himself. Fucking everything about the girl started a reaction in him. Either arousal or something softer. Katsuki almost preferred the horniness because the soft stuff made him feel even more like a desperate loser or something.
Just as he thought it couldn't get worse, he heard something even more horrible.
A sneer
His red eyes immediately followed the direction it came from and saw how Kaminari and Sero were clearly avoiding his face while trying desperately not to laugh and Kirishima was looking anywhere but at him looking like he might be sick.
Instantly, Katsuki understood.
That fucking traitor!
He pushed his foot off the wall he was currently standing at and started to walk, 'Fuck this shit.'
'Bakugou-san, do not speak like that!'
'Oi! Bakugou~!'
'Kacchan, what's the matter?'
'Hey, don't leave yet, Bakugou!'
He ignored the other's calls and carried on feeling like a fucking idiotic moron for coming here, for trusting Kirishima, and for holding those fucking feelings for Froggy in the first place.
Fuck my life!
'Hey, Bakubro,' he heard Kirishima run behind him and then felt him trying to put his hand on his shoulder.
Without a second to spare, the ash-blond stepped away from his reach and made sure to shoot him a death glare before he grunted, 'Don't fucking touch me.'
Kirishima looked genuinely remorseful, but Katsuki was too pissed to care, 'Look, I'm sorry. It wasn't like you think. I didn't say anything. I guess, Mina noticed you had been well staring at Tsu-chan and told the others, and it became like a thing. I found out last minute, and I wasn't sure how to tell you without you getting well…,' he waved his hand at Katsuki as if it was self-explanatory which it was. Everyone knew Katsuki would ger berserk if he found out others knew about his stupid little crush.
'So what was the fucking plan? To lure us somewhere alone?' he snapped and started to walk again ignoring the other boy who followed, 'I guess? They just wanted to see how you would react and we'll try to catch you two at something.'
'Fuck that and fuck them!' cursed Katsuki without stopping. Seriously, he was fucking done with those extras. He would forget their names, their faces, and everything for setting him up like this.
'Listen, how about we just ignore them? We can still go around? We would split up anyway since people want to see different things? You and Tsu-chan won't even have to meet.'
As if Katsuki was ever so lucky. If he was, he wouldn't fucking feel this way about that stupid Frog-Quirk User.
Damn it!
It all started during a stupid practice. He and Froggy were paired for a quirkless combat, and the fucking frog was getting the better of him. Before he knew it, he was on his ass, and Aizawa was praising the girl for how quickly she assimilated to a situation while he fucking sat there in awe and watched feeling the ever-present anger get to him.
He went off.
The sucker punch came as an unpleasant shock to both of them. It wasn't like he fucking wanted to hurt her, of course not. Why the fuck would he actually want to hurt her when it was just some light practice. That being said it wasn't like Bakugou Katsuki took those fucking lightly and gave whoever he was up against a free pass. If they didn't have what it took, they shouldn't be in U.A.
But the punch was a mistake he could only blame himself and his stupid anger on.
When Aizawa paired them up, he didn't think much of it. He didn't really train with the Frog Girl before, but mathematically speaking it was a possibility. They weren't supposed to use their quirks so it made sense they could try one another in combat.
She was good.
It was a surprising realization, but not a complete shocker. Katsuki wasn't a moron or as ignorant as others tend to believe. He noticed the strengths and weaknesses of others and Asui Tsuyu was definitely a worthy opponent in hand-to-hand combat.
It wasn't even that she fucking said anything to piss him off really.
Honestly, the ash-blond didn't plan to punch her, until he fucking ended up on his ass after a seriously good hit on her part.
'That's it for today!' called Aizawa as the Katsuki felt his blood boil over how fucking easily did the girl get him without almost any effort, and he just fucking saw red. Everything inside him fucking started and before he could even do anything else he just moved.
'Well, done Asui,' said their teacher, and the sea-green-haired girl turned around clearly losing her stance, and then came the punch.
With that it happened in a flash, he went at her, and before she could properly protect herself he punched her into the fucking face. It wasn't off limits, but it was after Aizawa called their match over, and Katsuki got detention because of it and ended up wrapped in the white scarf while the others tried to attend to Froggy who insisted she was alright while covering the eye.
Fuck!
'Did it make you feel better, Bakugou?' asked their sensei looking obviously upset in a way he was clearly telling the ash-blond he was profoundly disappointed in him which made Katsuki feel all the more shitty.
'No,' admitted the hothead.
'Think about that,' said his sensei and allowed him to go to the locker room to change.
He expected everyone to be already gone, maybe Shitty Hair stayed behind to offer some comradery as he usually did, but instead all that he found there was that Shitty Nerd and like hell he was up for a chat with him.
The boy, however, didn't allow him to fucking run away as he got in his way, 'Kacchan, what you did was horrible.'
The ash-blond shot him a glare and purposely went to hit his shoulder to get to his fucking stuff, but Deku surprised him by grabbing his arm and frowning at him with a look that made even the ash-blond pause, 'I never told anyone about our history or all those things you did to me because I believe that despite what everyone says that you have everything that it takes to be a good hero one day. Someone that could inspire people too. It didn't bother me because I thought all those things you did just to me because of our issues.'
He squeezed his arm harder and held an uncharacteristically angry look over his face that would almost make Katsuki respect him. Almost.
'Today, you acted completely unheroically, and if you ever do that again, I'm going to make sure you regret it-'
Katsuki tore his hand away from him, 'You want to fucking fight, you damn nerd?'
'No,' said Deku calmly, 'I would report you.'
That caught Katsuki off guard and shocked him enough to keep him quiet.
Deku started to walk away, 'You should think about what you did and think before you would ever try it again. No matter the history between us. I won't let you hurt anyone else like that ever again.'
Katsuki refused to say anything to him partly because anything he would say would just make him look petty and more like an ass.
He took a couple of deep breaths and then got dressed trying to run it all through his mind. He didn't really think about his past like that. He couldn't bring himself to deal with his past without feeling even worse than he already did. He knew he wasn't in the right when it came to all those things he did to Deku. It pissed him off every time he thought about it. So, he tried desperately not to.
'Oi, Froggy!' he came to find her the same day in the evening making sure no one was around which was rare since either he was always followed, or she had Cheeks and other girls at her side. Her eye already started to swell, and Katsuki felt angry and sick looking at it.
You fucking hit messed up.
'You need to punch me back. I fucking deserve it,' he said clearing his throat a bit and standing still really looking at her. It was probably the first time they ever spoke like this alone and close. He never really got a good look at her unless it was for something school or hero work-related. It was strange if he was being honest like he met her for the first time. She was tiny. It never really came to his attention, but she was really short and didn't really look like she could take down a villain the way he saw her do. She looked like all the girls. Soft and frail especially with the fucking bruise on her eye. But then again, Katsuki knew better than to think that. Her punches fucking hurt.
The girl watched him for a moment with her dark empty eyes and that impossibly to-read face and then smiled a bit, 'It's alright.'
Like hell it was!
'I know you didn't mean it,' she said, and her arms rose in front of her chest. At first, he thought she would cross them in a reserved way, but instead, the sea-green-haired girl just kept them in front of her the way she usually did. He would think it was unsettling how much she resembled a frog, but oddly, it wasn't. If anything, everything about Froggy, the stance, her breathing patterns, posture. It was all so damn calm.
Katsuki's frown deepened since he couldn't fucking accept her forgiveness like that, 'It doesn't fucking matter that I didn't mean to hurt you…hurt me back so we can be even.'
'I said it's alright,' said the sea-green-haired girl, and he had to grab her elbow to stop her from actually leaving.
Their eyes met for a moment of something intense that made Katsuki's heartbeat speed up, 'It's fucking not.'
The dark eyes watched him in silence for a moment before roughly, the girl broke free of his hold.
His stomach dropped at that, and Katsuki again felt strangely shitty for holding her like that.
Why the fuck was he fucking this up so badly with this extra?
At least, she didn't step away, but she did seem more aware of him now, 'I really believe it is not necessary. You are a very rash person who easily gets controlled by his anger. You should work on that. Apologize and we'll be even.'
'I rather you punch me,' he said realizing that even if he wanted to apologize, he couldn't. He fucking needed her to hit him back to feel-to not feel like a piece of shit.
The girl lifted her finger and gently press it against her lower lip as if she was thinking about something or was upset, but then she returned to that strange calmness she seemed to have, 'Ah, I see. You won't be satisfied until I do, will you, kero?'
He pressed his lips into a tight line.
What the fuck had the satisfaction to do with that?
He wanted to get this over with and not feel so bad while looking at her stupid face.
The girl nodded, 'Close your eyes.'
He supposed it was fair. He wasn't sure he wouldn't dodge on instinct if he saw a punch coming.
He closed his eyes and waited. However, the punch never came. He waited for what felt like a long time and when he opened his mouth to ask what the fuck was the hold-up, he felt a light flick against his forehead.
His eyes opened and he found the girl standing in front of him much closer than before and lowering her hand, 'There, I hit you back. Now we're even, Baku-chan. You can calm down now, please.'
The smile she gave him was soft, and even with the swollen eye, Katsuki couldn't help but think, that the girl was very cute.
What the actual fuck?!
He chased such an idea away as it had no fucking business running through his mind.
She was gone before he could say anything which was a good thing because later, the ash-blond realized he would probably say some bullshit and ruin the moment or whatever the fuck that was.
Since then, however, with every little interaction and shared moment, he couldn't help but grow to like the girl until he knew for sure he was crushing on her like a middle schooler was on his upper classmate.
Pathetic!
How could he become so pathetic? And for Froggy of all the people. Sure, she had a cute face and a hot body. She was a damn good fighter both with and without her quirk and wasn't even close to the level of annoying he got from their other classmates. She was calm and supportive and strangely fit well in any situation and every mood and-Fuck, fine, she was fucking flawless, and he hated her, himself, and everyone because of that.
'I wonder what had gotten Bakugou so upset again,' said Ochako by her side and crossed her arms frowning a bit where the boy left.
Tsuyu did not say anything to that and pressed her finger against her lower lip watching where the ash-blond and Eijiro left. She wasn't certain what happened, but she had a feeling it had something to do with how poorly Denki and Hanta were hiding their amusement and glancing somewhere between her and Katsuki.
Given all the clues as well as how bad the two boys and Mina were now in their furious whispering, Tsuyu immediately guessed what this was about.
It wasn't like the often-upset hothead did anything obviously incriminating. He didn't go out of his way to talk to her or be in situations with her. In fact, it seemed Katsuki did everything he could to stay as far away from her as possible, which Tsuyu would expect from someone like him of course.
It was mostly a feeling and some occasional instances of her noticing things.
If they were in an activity where they were opposite from each other, he would watch her, and even if, for just a moment, he wouldn't look as angry as he usually was. If he spoke to her, he would be his usual rude self, but when she once told him he was too loud, he did make a point of talking with her far more quietly than he ever did with the others.
Given that the likes of Mina and Denki notice, Tsuyu couldn't be so wrong in her assumption that somewhere along the way, Katsuki started to like her.
'Tsu-chan, are you alright?' asked Izuku by her side as he must have noticed she hadn't said a word for a while, 'Yes, just thinking, kero.'
The only real proof, Tsuyu had that she wasn't just seeing too much into it, was when he saved her on the train about a month ago.
It was due to the A.C unit.
Tsu had been feeling strange since she entered the train on her way to her agency. It was a hot day. It was summer after all so, of course, it was a hot day. They were close to the end of the school year. Their midterm final exams were days away, so their agency hours were reduced, but Tsu found herself still called over today for some case that would be perfect for her.
Her eyes blinked, and she furrowed her eyebrows a bit. She was feeling weird since she entered the train as if sensing something wasn't right, but it wasn't until she felt a shiver across her body that she realized what it was.
The A.C must have been turned extremely up causing the train's temperature not to be moderated to a much more pleasant one compared to the one that was outside. And the cold was starting to affect her.
Trying to think rationally she went through her bag, but then she remembered her temperature regulator was in the locker in her agency.
Her body started to feel tired and small, but she focused on the screen that stated they were not that far from another stop. She would have to take it.
With every passing minute, her body was growing smaller and more exhausted.
'Excuse me,' spoke a voice near her, and she tried to open her eyes to look at who it was, 'Do you need some help?'
She didn't recognize the boy or his school uniform other than that he wasn't a student of U.A or any other hero school, she knew.
He was smiling at her, but for some reason it caused Tsuyu's body to shiver and not just out of the cold.
Her eyes closed for a moment, and her stomach dropped, and she tried to push them to open again, 'No.'
She didn't like this. She didn't know this boy, and something made her very uncomfortable about his presence this close to her. She was always the type to trust her instinct, and at that moment she felt strongly she did not want to be in his presence.
When she felt him move and try to touch her, she let out a startled, 'Don't touch me!'
But due to the sleepiness, her voice was barely loud at all.
With the potential danger, her heartbeat speeded up which helped her stay awake longer. The situation was surreal, but Tsuyu still tried to stay as calm as possible. She wasn't alone with him. They were on a train with other people.
She pushed the boy away and stood up from her seat. She knew she couldn't use her quirk on him in public unprovoked, but she figured even if she fell down and cause a commotion it would be better than whatever was the alternative with this boy.
'W-wait, don't do that,' he said and put his hand on her shoulder moving closer, 'Let me help you.'
His voice caused the girl to let out a startled sound her knees shaking and, in a moment, breaking down sending her to the ground.
Except, she didn't fall.
To her surprise, she found herself in the arms of someone wonderfully warm, solid, and not at all threatening.
'Get. Your. Fucking. Hand. Off. Her. Before. I'll. Fucking. Tear. It. Off. And. Kill. You. With. It!' she heard the loud threat and almost smiled sliding deeper into the boy's warmth finally allowing her eyes to close, 'Katsu-chan.'
She was safe now.
The strange boy tried to say something stuttering, no doubt terrified by the ash-blond, 'B-but, I didn't-I wasn't doing anything-'
'Save it, creep, and fucking get out!' snapped the boy his loud voice and warmth the only thing keeping Tsuyu from properly falling into unconsciousness.
'Hold onto me,' she heard his voice in her ear. It sounded almost gentle, and in the next moment, Tsuyu felt herself being lifted from the ground and moved.
'You smell nice, kero,' she thought weakly or perhaps she even said it out loud as her nose filled with a strange sweet scent she was so familiar with but couldn't place at that moment.
'Get out of my way!' she heard the boy snap at someone and then she was out in the much better for her hot weather.
Her lips let out a soft pleased kero, and in several more minutes, she could open her eyes.
She blinked a couple of times adjusting to the daylight around her.
They were outside on the station, and Katsuki was leading the girl toward the nearest bench carefully settling her down on it and their bags on the ground. It was like a dream, and as more warmth slipped into her body the more Tsuyu could adjust to the reality of the moment.
The always angry and loud ash-blond wasn't looking at her directly, more like somewhere above her head, but even if he could have just settled her down on her own, he continued to hold an arm over her in both an attempt to keep her warm and comfort her.
Tsuyu stole a moment to freely look at his face. They were rarely this close without the pretense of training or hero work. Rarely in peace.
Katsuki was calm at that moment. Calmer than the girl ever witnessed him to be, and he looked extremely tender. Especially how gently yet firmly he was holding her close to his solid chest.
Based on instinct or perhaps still suffering the aftermath of sleepiness and cold, Tsuyu's palm found a place against that solid chest feeling. It felt good to be able to ground herself against him like this. He could serve as her rock of a moment.
He felt it based on a small hitch in his breathing pattern, but he did not say or did anything to stop her and simply continued to hold her. It was bizarre. Yet, it was nice and made Tsuyu feel warm for a different reason completely.
After a while, his red eyes moved to her face and caught her looking at him, 'Do you feel better?'
Bakugou Katsuki never spoke so softly. Even if they weren't close friends, Tsuyu was never surer of anything else in her entire life.
'Yes,' she whispered and blinked at him realizing just how close and how handsome he was not for the first time, but this time with a certain gravity to the situation.
His hand absently brushed her arm. It was a nice feeling.
'Don't let go, kero,' she said a bit too quickly feeling a slight wave of panic that he would, 'Just for a bit.' She had no right to ask that of him, but at that moment, she felt she could. At that moment, she felt she could ask him anything, and he would do it.
I could ask him to kiss me…but she didn't want to ruin the peaceful moment in case that would be too daring and reckless. She wasn't even sure she wanted him to kiss her overall, but in that moment, it wouldn't feel so bad.
His red eyes stayed on hers for a painfully long and intense moment before he nodded and brought her even closer to his chest until she felt him put his chin on her head.
Precious
She didn't think she ever felt this precious to anyone who wasn't her parents or best friend, and even then, it felt different. It felt good to be held like that. Especially by someone like Katsuki.
Tsuyu closed her eyes again and just for a few moments allowed herself to be held like that some more.
They hadn't spoken about the incident of course, but given how sweet, gentle, and protective Katsuki was, Tsuyu knew there was more to his feelings for her than any other classmate. It wasn't like she expected him to confess to her or she would try and get the confession out of him. She understood him well enough to know he had his goals and priorities and getting a girlfriend was not on the table for the ash-blond, but she did feel that if he opened up, he would feel more in control of his feelings and wouldn't act like he did right now by furiously running away.
But perhaps, she was just fishing for something here too.
She didn't really think about him like that before, but once she was sure, he liked her, she started to wonder about to always loud ash-blond. He was handsome and despite his personality, he was a good person and future hero. He saved her and instead of going after the boy, he stayed with her.
She felt her face heat up and her heart race a bit as she recalled the feeling of being in his arms, so she quickly cleared her throat and suggested they start going through the booths.
The truth was even with his personality Katsuki wasn't as bad as people thought he was. He was angry at times, but mostly he was loud, and he had gotten a lot better at handling his anger even if he definitely still needed to work on it.
'Shoot!'
Tsuyu and Izuku stopped walking and looked over at Ochako who was holding a hand over her pink obi with a sour look on her face.
Izuku immediately stepped closer to her whole Tsuyu and glanced around wondering when did they lose Tenya and the others?
The brunette pulled her fingers off and revealed a broken obijime.
'My mom told me not to tie it like that,' groaned the girl a bit and then sighed loudly, 'Maybe I could undo my hair and use the pin somehow?'
Tsuyu pressed a finger against her lower lip, 'I don't think that would hold.'
'I think my mom has the same color,' said Izuku and then pointed somewhere toward a few buildings, 'We live just down the street. I can take you and you can borrow hers if you would like?'
Ochako looked torn between a smile and a worry, 'Won't she mind?'
'You borrowing something? Never,' said Izuku and chuckled as if it was the silliest thing he ever heard. Perhaps, he was right, Ochako told Tsuyu that the few times she met the boy's mother since the course of their friendship, the older woman took a strong liking to her.
Tsuyu saw the slight pink color that rose upon her best friend's cheeks and stepped in, 'Ocha-chan, you should definitely go. Your obi won't hold without it and it's better than buying a new one now.'
Izuku nodded as well and being pressured by her two closest friends, the girl had no choice but to nod, 'Alright, it sounds like a good idea. If you don't mind, Deku?'
The boy shook his head and Tsuyu looked around catching the familiar ash-blond hair and dark shirt in between the crowd of people, 'You two should go, so Ocha-chan can properly change in your place. We can call each other later.'
'Are you sure?' asked both her friends concerned which caused Tsuyu to smile at them fondly and be grateful that she had such caring friends, 'Yes, absolutely, kero.'
The two nodded and headed in the direction Izuku pointed a moment ago with Ochako holding onto her obi and Izuku's hand on her back guiding her through the crowd.
Tsuyu closed her eyes for a second and put her hands together letting out a silent prayer on the two in love fools.
Good luck, you two, this is your chance!
She turned around to see if she could find Katsuki again thinking that if they just talked a bit they could put an end to his anxiety over his crush, but found her path blocked by some three boys she didn't recognize.
'Hey, aren't you Floppy?'
Oh no.
How did he ever get convinced into these things by Kirishima, Katsuki would never know, but this sure as hell was the last time he ever did. Not even twenty shitty minutes later, the idiot managed to lose himself, and Katsuki was fucking done aimlessly trying to find him.
He turned around to get away from the crowd and the festival altogether only to notice the green yukata with flowers and stop in track.
He should fucking leave.
He almost did just that, but at the last second the crowd moved, and he found the owner of the yukata standing all alone with three unfamiliar extras towering over her tiny frame.
What the fuck is this?! First the creep on the train and then this?!
His feet moved before he could stop himself from hitting one of those fuckers in the shoulder as he appeared in front of Tsuyu, 'Baku-'
'Hey! Watch it-oh shit, is that Dyna-?!'
He didn't let anyone finish and snatched the sea-green-haired girl's wrist dragging her away from the confused boys without a single glance at them, 'How the fuck do you always end up in these bullshit situations?'
Instantly, it came from his mouth, he knew it was a shitty thing to say because he wasn't a total moron and because Froggy tore her hand away from his hold.
He turned around and despite her face and eyes always being a mystery, he knew he hurt her by what he said.
He looked away and fisted a hand into the pocket of his shorts, 'That's not…it's not what I meant. Fuck,' he said and absently rose his hand to move through his hair in a nervous habit, he thought he grew out of in kindergarten, but it seemed to deal with Froggy brought it back, 'Forget it…forget I said that bullshit.'
The sea-green-haired girl remained silent looking at him, and even if he wasn't looking back at her he fucking hated being stared at like that when he had no idea what the fuck was going on inside her mind.
His mouth opened on its own and before he could stop himself the most pathetic sound came out making him feel even more like an embarrassed idiot, 'Sorry.'
Something changed in her posture even if he couldn't see her, but the next moment she spoke, 'Thank you.'
She turned around, and he looked at her to see her looking at those boys before she spoke again, 'It was a bit uncomfortable when they spoke about me and my hero costume, kero.'
Her face heated up a bit giving her a cute reddish color, but she looked too anxious for the ash-blond to properly enjoy it, 'Especially when I'm dressed like this. It would be difficult to handle them if I needed to without ruining the clothes and looking respectful.'
Absently, she now brushed the side of her obi and lower making Katsuki's red eye follow the motion. It was a very pretty yukata that fit her very nicely after all.
His throat went dry.
'They were lucky,' said Katsuki quickly, and he forced himself to meet her eyes. They were far less dangerous than the yukata. Something about their darkness that never gave away a single emotion was actually comforting.
'Yukata or not you would kick their ass if you really wanted to,' he said, and it wasn't bullshit. He didn't give out praise if he didn't mean it and well Froggy deserved it.
Her lips pulled into a soft smile that warmed his chest again, and he hated that she had such an effect on him all the while he enjoyed he got such a reaction from her, 'Thank you, Baku-chan.'
You're pretty
He bit his tongue hard enough to bleed not to say that and rather looked away, 'Where are the other extras?'
Froggy's index finger lifted to her lips, 'Izuku-chan and Ocha-chan went to his place to borrow obijime that broke from his mom's. As for the others, we lost them somewhere along the way, kero.'
She then looked at him again, 'And Kirishima?'
'Got lost as usual,' Katsuki shrugged his shoulders and looked around. It was so rare for them just to be the two of them like this, but he was not sure what exactly to do when they were. It wasn't like he fucking wanted to. He didn't. He needed to stay as far away from her as possible so he wouldn't be even more of a mess, but fuck, how could he just leave now?
'Baku-chan,' said Tsuyu feeling like this was the perfect opportunity to come and spent some time together, 'Do you want to visit some of the booths with me?'
He flinched and for a moment, he genuinely looked like he was in distress, and wished to deny her. She felt some disappointment and mentally prepared herself not to be too obvious about it before he looked at her again, especially at her clothes, and nodded looking annoyed about it as usual. His eyes were narrowed and eyebrows furrowed, but his words were rather positive in their own way, 'On the hour, then I'm fucking out of here.'
She nodded feeling her cheeks warmed up by his gaze and the prospect of what they were about to do. She wanted them to do it, yes, but it also made her feel a bit nervous. Nevertheless, she soldiered on and walked around with the boy through the booths and tried out activities and games. It just…felt a bit like a date which caused Tsuyu's emotion to play with her a bit.
That was all.
They managed to play a few games, and of course, Katsuki won all of them which left them with about ten golden fishes, they decided to give them away to children who then started to follow them around annoying the ash-blond even more.
Tsuyu covered her mouth to hide her giggles over the boy's distress before she took hold of his shirt, 'Come on, Baku-chan we should go play another game again.'
She purposely nodded in the opposite direction, and the boy nodded, 'Yeah, let's go.'
Just as the kids started to rush in the direction of the booth, the two teens ran to the opposite one finally losing them in the crowd.
'Co-depended little brats,' commented Katsuki as they slowed their pace, 'I'm starving. Let's find something to eat.'
Tsuyu nodded and touched her lower lip wondering if he realized it had been well past the hour he said he would only stay. It brought a smile to her lips, but if he noticed, he didn't comment on it and continued to lead her through the crowds.
It was nice.
The explosive boy made sure, she didn't have to walk close to any strange men with occasionally putting his palm against her side to pull her close.
'Why would you even want this? Won't it kill the tastebuds on your tongue?' he asked her when she suggested they could eat some spicy food.
She touched her lower lip with her finger again before she looked at him, 'Isn't spicy food your favorite, Baku-chan?'
He watched her for a second frowning before he stepped closer, 'Just don't fucking cry if you burn your tongue, Froggy.'
She chuckled, 'I don't mind spicy food. Because of my quirk, I don't even feel it most of the time. It would have to be extra spicy to make a difference.'
He looked at her with a glimpse behind his red eyes and Tsuyu not for the first time thought he was extremely handsome like this. All wired for a victory. It was his second most common look if he didn't look angry, and she much more preferred it to that one.
'Fine,' he said and slammed several yens across the wood of the booth, 'Serve us two of your spiciest dishes, old man!'
She reached into her tiny bag to get her wallet, but just as she was about to pull it out, she heard his indistinguishable voice, 'Leave it. It's on me.'
She opened her mouth to protest, but for some reason didn't. If she let him pay knowing he had feelings for her wouldn't this be considered a date? It shouldn't matter, or maybe it should, and she should insist to pay her part, but instead, the girl closed her bag and stepped closer to him.
Katsuki's back remained toward her, so she chose that moment to step on her toes and leaned toward his ear, 'Thank you.'
He shivered so visibly it would have been funny if it didn't cause Tsuyu's inside to feel strange and wonder if she didn't make it worse.
When he slightly turned, and she caught the look inside his red iris, she was certain it was the wrong thing to do and felt her face warm up.
Oh…so he wasn't the only one with a crush it seemed.
She didn't have much time to think about those feelings as she was handed the plate and chopsticks and Katsuki pointed out where they could eat guiding her away.
She wanted to talk to him to clear the water, but now that she realized she might like him back it seemed harder. Funny, she liked to think of herself as honest and always speaking her mind even when it was unflattering and even when it concerned her own actions, but she didn't really feel like hurting the mood.
'What, don't you like it, Froggy? Too spicy for you precious tongue?' he asked her in a mocking manner, and Tsuyu gave him a look before she started to eat. She could feel the heat, but it did little to affect her, 'It's good. Not as bad as it could have been.'
He shook his head but started to eat as well, 'We should try out some more so we can find the spiciest one.'
It made Tsuyu smile hearing about his persistence. It made sense that he always seemed to reach the top. He put everything he could into it and more. It was admirable really. It probably wasn't the best that she was thinking about it though. She had a feeling someone like Bakugou Katsuki wouldn't be open to any relationships. Not until he reached his main goal and became the Number One Hero.
'Your face is dirty,' he spoke suddenly, and Tsuyu blinked realizing he meant from the food, 'Where?'
Her tongue darted out a bit and licked the corners of her mouth figuring that must have been it before she suddenly felt him grab a hold of her chin and pull her closer.
Huh?
In a matter of a second, she felt something wet against the skin of her cheek and then the corner of her mouth before he leaned away and stood up, 'There, all pretty again.'
Tsuyu's dark eye widened as she caught onto the fact that Bakugou just licked her face just like that, and she felt warmth shutting to her cheeks.
What the hell was that, kero?!
Just as he finished eating, he looked up at her, and at that moment, she learned just that did the ash-blond realized what he did so unbelievably careless.
'Baku-chan, d-did you…do you like-'
He got her out of her bench without returning the plates and lead her to the nearest dark alley in a matter of seconds.
When Bakugou stopped he still continued to hold her wrist, Tsuyu looked up at him into his red eye and thought that he seemed to do be doing that a lot. This time, she didn't break free and waited.
He should let her go. He knew he should let her go. He needed to leave. He needed to get away from her as far as possible. This close…this close it was no good. She just freaking hypnotized him or some shit.
His eyebrows furrowed and his face twisted in a frown. Like hell he wanted some extra to have this much power over him, but fuck-it seemed impossible to let her go. Why did she have to make it this hard with her wide dark eyes and that expressionless face and that fucking Baku-chan, Katsu-chan, and Katsuki-chan?! Not to mention that horribly perfectly fitting yukata that made her look like a freaking feudal princess and made his throat dry. She was ruining him on the spot, and she was barely doing anything just being freaking herself.
Her eyes remained on his and it was way too long for him holding her hand to be taken as anything but inappropriate.
Fuck, he was acting like all those perverts!
'Look-'
'You should kiss me, kero.'
His eyes widened, and he almost jumped away from her, but her hand shifted and now she was holding it. It wasn't a firm hold. He could easily just move his hand away, so why didn't he?
'You should…' she started again and then blinked her face going a bit red even in the dark, 'I-I think you should because I think you will regret it if you don't-'
'That's bullshit,' he lied. What else he was supposed to say? That yes, he thought he would regret it as well if he never got a chance to kiss her? He couldn't say that! He didn't want to say that! He wanted this stupid feeling that was crushing his chest to go away not fuel it more so it could spread and shit.
The girl's tongue darted out and slowly stroked her lips in a way that almost made Katsuki run for the hills and pull her by the waist closer at the same time.
Damn her!
'K-Katsuki-chan,' said the sea-green-haired girl with a shaky voice, but her fingers stroked him as if they were barely holding hands, 'you should.'
He swallowed, 'I can't…' Because he couldn't. He couldn't be the one who will freaking move his dream aside. He couldn't put her in the equation that would lead him toward his goal to become the Number One Hero. He just fucking couldn't. If this…if kissing her would turn out to be the shit that would ruin his dream, he would hate her. He would fucking hate her and that would whatever good however good it would feel to just kiss her make it all ruined and-fuck!
Tsuyu watched him for a moment with a frustratingly unreadable expression before she sighed, 'Alright.'
His heart sank with brutal disappointment and the absolute force of both paralyzed him and made him want to reach for her. But she was right of course, she couldn't….they couldn't not when they had their priorities and this was a stupid crush that lasted months, and he just needed to step away from her and breathe something other than waterlilies for crying out loud.
Suddenly, Tsuyu's free hand reached out and her fingers got tangled inside his shirt.
His red eyes widened as he watched in slow-motion how the girl slowly pulled him closer to her. He could have stopped it. He could have just not leaned down. He could have broken free if he really wanted to.
When his face was centimeters away from hers, she paused and looked into his eyes, and even if Asui Tsuyu couldn't reveal anything with her eyes, Katsuki would have sworn, that she looked beyond precious and vulnerable at that moment, and he wished for nothing more than to pull her closer and bury her face against his chest to hide it from the world.
He breathed out her name like a prayer into the small space between their lips, 'Tsuyu.'
She waited and when he didn't stop her, didn't protest, didn't fucking do anything but look down at her mouth, she erased the distance between their faces.
He misunderstood it before, Katsuki later realized, she wasn't giving into denial or into defeat, Asui Tsuyu as a confident and modern girl and authoritative future pro-hero was taking things into her own hands. He couldn't be the one that would kiss her. He couldn't be the one that would put her on a pedestal to rival his goal, his dream of becoming the fucking Number One Hero. But just as before when she managed to sneak into his mind and heart, Asui Tsuyu could and did just that.
Their lips moved against each other in sloppy and enthusiastic moves. It was bizarre how messy this could be with the saliva and wet noises and yet, Katsuki eagerly deepened the kiss tasting her mouth and sucking on her tongue and lips.
Heavenly
That was how it fucking felt, and all the ash-blond could do was deepened the kiss and press Tsuyu's body against the wall behind them pushing further against her. She tasted so damn good and at least for once in his life, Katsuki let go of his bullshit worries and everything in order just to properly feel her in a dark alley like this.
His hand let go of her in order to move through her covered by that pesky yukata body. It felt so warm and firm, and he felt insane trying to feel as much of it as he could all the while feeling the girl doing the same to his chest and back as she ran her wide fingers through his clothes.
They broke the kiss to let out panting breaths.
Katsuki's eyes opened looking at the swollen red lips and blushed cheeks for a second before he kissed her against immediately feeling her push that heavy and hot tongue of hers into his own mouth.
He groaned feeling the sensation vibrate through his entire body. It was minutes and yet he already felt if they carried on he would lose himself inside her right here in a stinky alley.
His hands found her chest and he broke the kiss to look at her while he moved his palms against her breast taking not of her shallow breathing and how she pushed herself firmly against his hands.
It was hypnotic.
One of his hands found a way inside through the yukata and onto the hadabujan over her breasts.
She moaned, 'Kero.'
That sound was magical, both in how quickly it forced all the blood to rush into his lower body and how quickly it caused Tsuyu to snatch his wrist, 'Katsu-chan, we shouldn't…'
His eyes widened and all the blood left his body now as he realized she was right.
THEY DEFINITELY SHOULD FUCKING NOT BE DOING THIS!
Fucking Kami, he was worse than those perverts before.
Tsuyu didn't tell him to feel her up. Just because she kissed him didn't mean he could just do shit like this after their first kiss.
'Shit!' he cursed panting, 'S-sorr-'
'Here!'
Tsuyu's dark eyes met his again. Even expressionless, Katsuki felt their arousal the same way he felt his own coming from his pants and very full briefs, 'We shouldn't do that here.'
Her cheeks were still red, and he couldn't stop himself from leaning toward her and kissing one of them the same one he had licked not so long ago.
She shivered against him, and he leaned away putting his hands behind her against the wall, 'Yeah, okay.'
She nodded and started to fix her clothing undoing the obijime in order to do so.
Katsuki watched her shaky hands and wondered if it was alright or if he should apologize again. He felt like he did more than enough of that shit, but it once again felt like he should.
Fuck.
Tsuyu finished her clothes and looked at him, 'All good?'
His eyes inspected her and deemed her decent enough to leave the alley without people assuming shit. Her face as he was sure his, was a different story, however.
He cleared his throat.
She still looked pretty damn cute even more so with the blush and red lips, but like fuck he had any right to it all. She said he should kiss her and kissed him herself that didn't mean anything. He just got carried away and wanted more like he always did. He was selfish about the things he wanted.
He wanted everything.
'Katsuki,' she said, and his eyes widened because his name might have never sounded better than it had come from her pretty mouth that he was now all too painfully aware of how it tasted.
Her lips curled into a smile as she spoke, 'We should do this again…when we have the time and feel like it.'
His red eyes blinked, 'What do you mean?'
'Dates,' she said and pressed a finger against her lower lip looking a bit shy and not meeting his eyes, 'We don't have to do it all the time-'
'Yeah!' he cut her off and then covered his face a bit so she wouldn't see how red it must have gotten because he felt like an idiot, 'We…we can do that, Tsuyu.'
He only dared to look at her a moment later and found her smiling at him softly.
She opened her mouth to say something which was when they heard the fireworks go off, and he cursed grabbing her wrist again, 'Come on!'
'Wait, we can stay here,' she said and stopped him from dragging her.
She looked at the sky and the colorful explosions above them, 'It's nice when it's just the two of us like this, kero.'
He nodded and they remained watching the sky in silence. It was very nice. Even he had to admit that. Maybe just fucking maybe they could make some sort of high school romance or whatever work. Yeah, maybe he could make it work. He was the fucking best in everything he tried and he would continue to be the best, so why not in this?
He smirked at the idea and looked at her just as Tsuyu went to look at him, 'I'm gonna take you on the best fucking dates ever. You'll see, Tsuyu.'
She blinked a bit surprised but smiled nevertheless in that cute way of hers that caused his inside to feel tighter and warmer, 'Can't wait, Katsu-chan.'
