Monday when classes started more often than not Vesta Lestrange was separated from her friends Tonks, Fred and George were all in fifth year so she didn't see them except for during meals and off periods, the same was the case with Iris as she was only in second year. However, considering Asher Black was a fellow third year Slytherin, he and Vesta more often than not found themselves in the same class, and while it was true that Asher Black wasn't the friendliest of people, he did make an effort to make sure Vesta wasn't left to be on her own, not that it had mattered, because Draco had been injured in Care Of Magical Creatures and hadn't been in class since Monday.

In fact Draco hadn't rejoined classes until double potions with the Gryffindors on Thursday, and Vesta had to pretend not to gag as Pansy Parkinson fawned over Draco's injury asking if it "hurt terribly." Speaking of gagging potions was taught by someone who was very quickly becoming one of Vesta's least favorite people at Hogwarts, Professor Snape.

Professor Snape was in his mid 30's and yet still managed to dress and act like a 13 year old Emo boy, mostly due to the fact that it looked like he hadn't washed his hair since he actually was 13. Professor Snape was the head of Slytherin house and in the many times Vesta had interacted with him thus far her dislike for him grew further and further, in fact Professor Snape was so feared among his students that before Vesta even stepped foot into his classroom Vesta was warned to "Not make eye contact, but don't take notes unless explicitly told to do so. Don't speak up too often but also don't stay too quiet, and pray to whatever god you believe in that you don't make a mistake." Although none of that was what solidified Vesta Lestrange's dislike for Severus Snape.

The boy who always seemed to turn around and walk the other way when he saw her coming. By this point, Vesta had learned his name. Neville Longbottom was a tall, slightly pudgy boy who always seemed to stutter when called on during class, and never seemed to be able to catch a break. Neville Longbottom was clumsy, nervous, and often forgot what he was talking about mid-conversation. Most unfortunately of all though, Neville Longbottom was the son of the victims of the crime that landed Vesta's mother in Azkaban, and although Vesta had never personally been able to talk to him, she knew exactly what he thought about her.

Vesta didn't know if it was guilt or pity that made her so angry at Snape's actions that day in double potions. Of all the things she could have learnt about Neville Longbottom, Vesta learned during the few classes they had together that Neville Longbottom had a pet toad, unlike most students at hogwarts that tended to let their pets roam during their classes, Neville took his toad everywhere he went. Draco liked to claim it was because he had no friends, but Vesta noticed quickly that even though he always seemed so nervous, all of the Gryffindors seemed to always have his back, especially Hermione Granger, whom, Vesta was completely sure was the saving grace from Professor Snape's vile experiment.

After Neville seemingly had made a simple mistake when brewing his potion, it had turned orange, not green, Professor Snape exclaimed that by the end of the class he was going to feed the potion to Neville's toad, that if the potion was brewed incorrectly it would poison the amphibian, but if brewed correctly it would be fine. Fortunately Hermione Granger had found a way to whisper the instructions to him little by little and the potion turned out fine in the end. However in Vesta's mind it didn't excuse the fact that Professor Snape was going to willingly poison his student's beloved pet because of an easy mistake. Vesta was convinced he had to be some sort of sociopath. After class Asher caught up with her after she stormed out of the room.

"We have Defense Against The Dark Arts next, although we should really wait for Ace."

"Why are we waiting for Ace if we have Defense with the Gryffindors."

"Because our dad is teaching Defense and he wanted us in the same period, so he pulled some strings and got them transferred to our period."

"I see." They waited in silence for a few minutes before Ace made their way towards them from the direction of the greenhouse.

"Sup dweebs."

"Sit closer to the back near the greenhouse entrance," Asher was looking at his wristwatch, "You'll get out of the class quicker and make it here faster, we've barely got a minute to spare to make it to defense on time." Asher said slightly coldly.

"Hello to you too?"

"It's just a suggestion, or do you want to be late to our own fathers class every thursday?"

"Can we? It would be pretty funny." Asher suddenly looked slightly annoyed.

"No we can't, punctuality is the key to success. Besides what impression would it make if we, of all people, showed a lack of confidence and respect for him. It would tarnish his reputation."

"Asher, hon, get the stick out of your ass. I'm joking."

Ace, Vesta and Asher, soon enough found themselves entering the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, as they took their seats, Professor Lupin smiled leaning against his desk.

"I see, now that our stragglers, whom just happen to be my own children, are here, we may begin. If you would, please put all of your books back into your bags. Today will be a practical lesson. You will only need your wands." The class murmured slightly, but did as they were told. "Right then, If you would all follow me." Puzzled, the class followed as Professor Lupin led them down a long corridor and stopped directly outside of a staffroom. "Inside please."

The class filed inside one by one and Vesta had to stifle a groan when standing inside was none other than Professor Snape sitting in an armchair. Once everyone was inside Lupin made to close the door before a sneer played across Snape's face.

"Leave it open, I would rather not witness this." Professor Snape moved to leave the room but stopped just as he was walking out the door. "If no one has warned you yet Lupin, this class contains Neville Longbottom, do not trust him with anything of… utmost importance." Even though he was on the opposite side of the room Vesta could see Neville's face turn scarlett. Vesta could feel her blood starting to boil, she didn't understand it, it wasn't like she knew him, but she knew what he had been through and she supposed in her mind that was enough.

"Actually I was hoping Neville would assist me with the first stage of the demonstration, and I'm sure he will perform admirably" Neville looked puzzled, and if it were possible, more embarrassed than before. Professor Snape proceeded to leave the room and Professor Lupin turned towards the class before moving to stand next to an old wardrobe in the back of the room. "Now how many of you can tell me what a boggart is?"

Professor Lupin proceeded to instruct the class on what a boggart was, the environment a boggart prefers, and the type of magic boggarts are able to use. He explained that boggarts are shapeshifters that can turn into whatever they think will scare their victim the most. He turned to Neville, who by this point had gone slightly pale.

"The charm we will be using against the boggart is quite simple, as the only way to truly finish off a boggart is with genuine laughter, what you have to do is force it to assume a form that you will find amusing. The spell which we will practice now before I set the boggart loose is, after me… riddikulus." The class repeated the spell after him. "Neville," Professor Lupin smiled, "what would you say your worst fear would be?" In that moment Vesta felt her heart sink into her stomach and her vision went blurry. What was she going to do when Professor Lupin opened the wardrobe door and her mother stepped out, or worse…

Her.

Neville got shy for a moment before finally mumbling something out, she couldn't quite hear him, she was sure she was doomed. Then Lupin spoke.

"Professor Snape? … and Neville, I believe you live with your grandmother?"

It was official, Vesta hated that man. Though soon enough her mood was relieved when Professor Lupin instructed to turn the boggart into Snape wearing his grandmother's clothes. One by one the students took turns facing their boggarts, when it was Vesta's turn she didn't know what to expect, but when she stepped up, it seemed like nothing happened, until suddenly, the room went dark. She couldn't see anyone or anything, and then there was buzzing, almost like loud talking all around her, she held her wand high, but she didn't know where to aim the spell, she felt her breathing quicken, she wanted to call for help but in that moment her words seemed to fail her.
