It was a bleak and black space, infinity permeating the endless black place, creating a devastating feeling of loneliness.

Only darkness could be seen in the endless black world with no light.

In this endless void of eternal loneliness, it was possible to see a person floating as if floating on water.

He was an average-looking young man with brown hair, black eyes, and an average physique.

He wasn't ugly, but he wasn't handsome either. He was just average.

The boy's eyes could only see the endless darkness of where he was.

This boy could only come to one conclusion.

He was dead.

Yet the boy didn't try to deny his death or anything. He had accepted this for himself.

But it seemed that his death was not something the Higher Ones wanted to be permanent.

Welcome player!

The boy's eyes widened as he blinked in surprise when the words appeared in front of him.

He could not believe what was in front of him. After all, this was something that only happened in fiction, or to be more exact, fanfiction.

This was simply impossible!

But if he had learned anything from reading fanfiction, it was that it could be just as real.

And so the list went. I couldn't even distinguish the rest of the worlds where the list disappeared into the darkness of the void that was my temporary existence.

Still ... the choices I could make were more than attractive to me. In fact ... I already knew which one I wanted to go to.

"Campione!"

That's right. I wanted to go to the world where gods could walk among mortals and where mortals could kill the unfathomable.

I wanted the power to kill gods. To command the very essence of nature, depending on which god I gave my life to kill.

The world around me glowed once, twice, and finally, a third time.

Campione!

The world of gods and men.

You who seek the power of the gods... you will start your adventure here. Take heart in knowing that you have the blessings of the Ancient Chosen Ones!

Now go ahead ...

To situate yourself in the world of men and gods.

Let your will be done and your wishes be fulfilled.

Let no man or woman stand against you.

Let whole armies tremble under your great power.

Well ... wasn't that a kick in the stomach?

Then someone threw a hand at me and ended up with this fantastic gift! And apparently, they were pretty, the poets themselves.

I groaned as I tried to open my eyes. I could feel the sun's warmth against my skin as I tried to force my body to wake up. It was one of the many curses of being human when your mind woke up before the rest of your body.

Still, I had gotten used to it.

Slowly I stood up, and I sat down on the floor.

All I could see in all directions was a long, dry, endless desert. Moreover, the sun was peaking through, indicating that it was probably midday, and the heat was scorching.

But I realized that something was different, and looking ahead. I gained a terrified expression.

Less than two kilometers from where I stood, a terrifying wave of sand rose into the sky. It engulfed the entire surroundings in a wave of darkness.

This overwhelming wave of darkness had obscured even the sun.

"A Sandstorm... No, what is that?!"

It was possible to see three beings in the middle of the gigantic sand wave.

The first one looked like a large man two meters tall, what was most striking was his gigantic falcon wings, as well as his head that was the same as the animal's, above his head was a disc that shone like the sun and in his left hand was what appeared to be a key.

The second one was surrounded by darkness. His head was that of a black dog, and all his skin was dark as darkness. He had a linen crown on his head and several other golden accessories. In his right hand is a staff and in his left hand a rod.

And the last one was the most mysterious, a figure in a black cloak that covered his whole body, with blue flames surrounding him and a long black scythe in his hands.

I could recognize at least two of them. I couldn't forget that I was in Campione's world, so what was in front of me were actually [Heretic Gods].

[Heretic Gods] are gods, heroes, and divine monsters that came out of myths and legends to manifest themselves in the mortal world, putting people in danger.

The essence of the world and beyond is what makes up their supernatural core, giving form to these existences, the gods. From myths and legends, they were born. But for some gods, the forms and nature of their myths become a burden. They rebel against them, manifesting in the world, running away from the myths and legends, also known as the Realm of Immortality, as Evil Gods, and bringing disaster with them.

I always loved everything about mythology in my past life, so I decided to come to the world where Gods were real.

And the fact that two of the [Heretic Gods] had the heads of animals and the vast desert where I was could indicate that I was in Egypt, and these two Gods were from that Pantheon.

There were several Knife Gods in ancient Egypt because of the symbolism of this animal. The main one was Ra, the King of Gods, and Sun God. Besides, there were several of Ra's aspects and other Gods like Montu.

His name means 'nomad', which would explain his He was initially the manifestation of the scorching effects of the sun, Ra. Such a destructive characteristic led him to gain the aspects of a warrior, thus becoming a god of war.

But the symbol on the left hand of the [Heretic God] was the key that commanded the living and the dead, and only one Egyptian God possessed it.

Horus, son of Osiris, King of the Gods and God of Heaven, War, and Birds, is also considered a Sun God Ra reincarnation.

And with this in mind, it was easy to deduce the second God.

It was Seth, the Egyptian God of Storms, War, Revenge, Envy, Treachery, Jealousy, Darkness, Animals, and many others.

In their myths, Seth was Horus' greatest enemy, so that this manifestation could make sense.

But what caught my attention was the last [God Heretic]. He carried a Scythe, the typical representation of a [God of Death].

But at the same time, he didn't seem to have the animal head and had his long cloak.

It could mean that he was not an Egyptian God...

As I was thinking about this, I realized that the gigantic sandstorm was approaching me.

I cursed in my head and turned and started to run desperately.

Even though the [Heretic Gods] weren't focusing on me, I would be instantly turned to dust if I got too close to the battle.

I didn't want to die again, and this time it was very likely that I would never get a third chance.

But for a human, it was impossible to run faster than a natural disaster like a sandstorm.

Suddenly my body was knocked over several times by the sandstorm. I rolled several times in the sand and even ate sand.

Soon my vision became darker, and I was slowly losing my vision perception because of the storm.

I knew that if I didn't do something now, I would drown in the sandstorm and be killed by the power of the [Heretic Gods].

"Huh? What is that... A cave?"

I spotted a cave in the middle of the sand in a hurry and entered without thinking.

No matter how dangerous jumping into a random cave, nor who might be there, nothing was as complicated in this world when the three [Heretic Gods] were fighting outside!

After a few somersaults, I finally arrived in a clearing like a secret room, it was made of solid sand rocks, and there seemed to be magic glyphs around the walls.

The things in this place were all spread out; there were strange clay dolls, items that looked like they came out of a museum, several scrolls that seemed very old, and several amulets.

If an ordinary person walks in here, they will surely think all this is worthless. I felt so myself for a moment.

But I realized that these objects were Magic. It was hard to describe how I knew. There was just something different.

Magic. It existed here in this world, not as an easily accessible contemporary force but as a borrowed force.

All [Magic] was derived from the [Authorities], the power of the Gods.

[Authorities] are the divine powers, attributes, qualities, and weapons of gods, heroes, demons, and monsters, which make them invincible to normal humans. If a [God Heretic] is killed, his [Authorities] will be stolen by the human, turning him into a god-killer

Little is known about the [Authorities], other than that they are the Magic of the gods, far surpassing mortal magics, and are what gave them the right to rule. What is known is that the particular [Authorities] of a god are shaped by the myths and legends that give rise to them and reflect the history of that God.

The Magic of the human as a base drew some of the power of the gods. The [Spell of Golgotha] drew the hatred and resentment of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to create Magic capable of hurting gods.

Most spells depend on which God their power is drawn from, although only an insignificant portion is used.

The only ones capable of performing Magic otherwise would be the [Divine Ancestors], who are Goddesses who lost their divine position but still retained some of their power, and [Witches] who were their descendants and inherited some of the power.

I didn't know why I could feel that these items were not normal, but I didn't mind that and started to check.

I didn't go around carelessly touching the room either since it looked like a wizard's workshop.

It is an extremely dangerous place, any inconspicuous item can be a trap capable of making someone experience something worse than death.
