To be truthful, while Camie can hardly contain herself around Bakugou anymore, hanging out with some girl friends is never impossible. Some of her old Shiketsu pals would invite her out on little dates and spend hours fooling around and shopping. Her kind of date. Although Bakugou may be a tough cookie on that one… scratch that.
A date with Bakugou…
Like Hagakure said, it's too good to be true.
Not like he'd be interested in her, anyways. What kind of girls is he even into? He hasn't had an official relationship yet, right? He's popular, so if he did it would have been nationwide, just like Deku and Uravity's marriage proposal… even now, the media's headlines consist of 'congrats' being delivered, even from America.
Marrying Bakugou…
To seal the contract of marriage, that requires her to…
Kiss Bakugou…
Kiss…
"Utsushimi?"
Camie's imagination pops like a balloon and brings her back to reality, briskly glancing around to familiarize herself. In front of her stands Uraraka and Asui. She'd just remembered they're all out clothes shopping, for some reason. They had invited her out of the blue.
"So?" Uraraka beams. "Which one do you like?" Two yukata options are given to Camie, and she gives it a hard thought between the two. One with little carnation designs and the other with geometric shapes.
"Hum… this one," she points to the jumble of triangles and other weird shapes.
"Kero, kero!" Asui chirps. "I was hoping you would pick that one!"
"It's lit asf, I'd totes wear that. Btw, why are we buying yukatas?"
"Because, silly!" Uraraka says. "The Summer Festival's coming up, remember? Aren't you excited about going?"
Oh, right, that's a thing. She'd forgotten about it, actually. She didn't even plan on going.
"Idk. I'd cop the yukata, but tbh I wasn't entirely planning on going."
"YOU MUST."
…
Absolute menace is radiating off of Uraraka's face. Asui's eyes had widened along with her, staring Camie down with such seriousness it honestly baffles her to her core. Actually, the frog looks more panicked, though it's hard to tell with that unchanging face of hers.
Well. Seems she'll be going this year.
Aim a gun at her, why don't you?
"'Kay, I'll go…"
"Great!"
Weird…
She hasn't been to one in ages, mostly because she had no one to go with. All her friends would ditch her in the first twenty minutes they were there to have some alone time with their boyfriends. Thus abandoning Camie in a crowded lot, with no idea what to do next.
Like a mom forgetting her child at the store.
The yukatas were cute, though.
"So… like, what are y'all gonna cop?"
Uraraka and Asui stare at her with a raised brow.
Camie gestures to her yukata. "Are y'all getting somethin'? I'll help you find one, so—"
"Oh, no no no no no!" Uraraka quips, waving her hand from side to side. "I have one at home already!"
"Me too, kero."
"...Oh. How did you, like, know I needed a new one?"
"A girl's intuition! Like Ashido says!"
Right. Ashido.
Aka the one she still needs feedback from. It's taking her quite a while, it's already been a few days and Camie's preparing for the festival. Glad Uraraka and Asui came around, despite it being strange these two have only done things for her so far.
…!
…Come to think of it, Uraraka is technically more experienced than Ashido when it comes to love, right? She even got engaged before anyone else… if that's the case, then Camie should have gone to Uraraka first!
And no way is she letting this chance slide!
"Ay, Uraraka…"
"Hm?"
"Based on your POV, what turns guys on?"
Uraraka trips.
"W-what?! Why are you… asking me?!"
"'Cuz ur gonna get married."
"Oh. B-but," she gulps, and Asui looks cluelessly between them, "why ask… such a thing…?"
"Hum… well, y'see, there's this guy I like, and idk exactly what he likes. Like, the type of girl he'd want. Idk if I'm good enough."
The gravity girl looks as if her head might implode.
The frog seems to be searching for a quip.
Visibly sweating, Uraraka's face turns crimson as she stutters for words. "Well… um… i-it depends on the kind of man… I guess…? Um! My advice would be just be yourself!"
Such strained words!
"'Be myself'?"
"Mm," adds Asui. "Ochako-chan loves Midoriya-chan for who he is, and Midoriya-chan loves Ochako-chan for who she is. Fumikage loves me for who I am, and I love Fumikage for who he is."
Wow, way to rub it in.
But notably inspiring, Asui. Congratulations.
"What, like, counts as being myself?"
"How you are now, Camie-chan. Ochako-chan and I like you for who you are."
"In short!" Uraraka grins, giving a big thumbs up. "Guys like girls who are honest!"
…
Somehow, the sweet, tooth-rotting smile that could outshine the sun and moon combined is the most adorable thing Camie has seen today. She swore she saw a tooth shimmer. How blessed that man is, Deku, the soon-to-be husband of this woman!
She continues, "So with that in mind, if you stick to it, I'm sure everything will be fine between you and B—" she slaps herself, "—the guy you like."
Asui wheezes.
"Aww, thanks fam. I'll totes consider it."
"Yep! Aaaanyway, yukatas! Let's go check out nowwww!"
The stressed tone of Uraraka and the shaky frame of Asui completely fly over Camie's head. Maybe she'll even get some jewelry… she's had the same couple pairs of necklaces for a few years now… maybe even some new earrings? Perhaps she shouldn't, after all, it's just a festival, so no reason to get too excited. It's not like there will be anyone there with her to admire it.
"Ochako-chan," Asui suddenly says to Uraraka. "Do you know how many people from our old class will be going?"
"Oh, yes I do! I heard everyone is coming, including BAKUGOU."
"Wow, even BAKUGOU-CHAN is coming?"
"Yep!"
…
…
Camie's getting that jewelry.
