"Father, I am as appalled as you are with the idea of Telemnar mating with a mortal. But we must think about this in a strategic way. If this prophecy is right and the Calithil has an amazing amount of power then shouldn't we try and take it? It would increase tenfold the importance that we have in Mélamar."
"I do not wish for this importance! We have managed the threats of Black Lake alone, without the help of any kind. We do not need them, and they do not need us."
"But father, this could change. We could become the leaders! You rule the only realms unprotected by a mirror of power. We could have the prophecy Calithil's powers! You might be a pure fairy elemental yourself, but us half fairy or half elementals have always been treated as inferiors by the elves and others in the kingdoms and realms. We never had renowned powers band the Calithil... This is our chance of proving that we can be as strong as they are, father!"
"Dejlig, you are my only daughter! I love you! I will never push you into making Telemnar into an arranged marriage, with a mortal to make matters worse. He deserves to be bonded to his true mate and live happy like his brother and his mate."
"This is what I am intending to do! He is mine and no one else's and I have made sure of that with the blood bond that we share now! However, we can use him to bring the Calithil here to us to use her for ourselves. We will act the part and make sure that they will not suspect a thing. So let us ask more questions, to assess the advantages our realms could gain with this!"
"This is too dangerous! Going into a different land!"
"Let me get as much help as I can from Tengenwa and Queen Elentári. I am not fooling myself, these lands will be completely different from ours, and he will need some help to adapt. And I will make you this promise: if he goes in these lands, meet her and realize she is not worthy of being used, I will have him kill her and come back here... either Prince Dúwath gets in his way under the orders of King Arveleg, then he will be dealt with as well. And then the prophecy will never be accomplished."
Nestadren observed his daughter for a long time. His outright refusal had probably been a mistake in light of Dejlig's arguments. He trusted his daughter's judgment and knew that this mortal woman would never set foot in his realms if she was not worthy of becoming Telemnar's mate and the power she possess too.
"You know I trust you, my daughter. I have always trusted you, and I will not stop today." Dejlig smiled.
"Thank you, Father. We will tell Queen Elentári that we agree if the Calithil is found. I will speak with Telemnar about his new mission on this matter. We will make the Calithil ours for the good of our realms."
"Very well," King Nestadren confirmed. They opened the door and immediately put on unreadable expressions, hiding their tension skillfully in front of their guests.
The room went deathly silent as everyone waited on their answer. King Nestadren started right into Queen Elentári's scarlet-red eyes with coldness when he spoke the next few words that put all Elenarda's royals and Tengenwa in relief.
"Very well. Telemnar will go and find the Calithil, but he will decide if she is worthy or not in the end."
"May it be so," Queen Elentári agreed to the fairy elemental king with a nod. As the two were talking, Tengenwa noticed Dejlig was whispering in Telemnar's ear as he nodded his head to her with a grim look on his face. Tengenwa was hoping that it won't cause too much damage to the Calithil and the prophecy, even though he knew that he can be wrong sometimes in some matters.
"When will they go and who will take them? We don't even know where she is end up once she is brought here to Mélamar." King Nestadren asked looking around at the group unimpressed.
"I say we get this done now, King Nestadren. For I believe that it is good time to do so. I will also be going with them through the portal at the surround area she might be appearing at," Tengenwa said looking at the man straight in the eyes with determination to leave before anything else happens. Nestadren turned to his only daughter. She was standing beside Telemnar, her usual impassive expression in place. And with a nod to his daughter he turned to his warrior with a slight frown.
"Telemnar come here."
"Yes, your Majesty," Telemnar walked over to him and stood before the Fëa king and turned to Tengenwa with a cold stare. Tengenwa didn't care for the look for he knew better of the prince and would get him to change his mind about the whole thing soon enough.
"It is time. Do you have all the weapons that you will need?" Tengenwa asked with a nod. Telemnar quickly checked the his two dragon blades are secured on his back, took bow and loaded an arrow, making sure to be ready to shoot any threatening beings he would find on the other side of the portal. With a nod to Telemnar, Tengenwa turned to the other side of him to look at Dúwath to see if he is also ready. He too was ready with a bow and arrow in his hands. "Let's me start then," Tengenwa stated as he got ready to make a portal for the two warriors and himself.
Tengenwa recited the incantation and the portal suddenly opened in the middle of the throne room. It looked like a thin veil of water vertically suspended above ground, and Dúwath curiously touched it with his fingers, expecting it to feel wet on his fingertips. Sensing the portal wasn't wet or painful, he turned to Telemnar with a smirk as he spoke.
"It's not wet or painful. But if you want you can stay here, little prince." The only thing Telemnar did was giving him a hard cold look and turned to the portal once again.
"Let us go then," Tengenwa said and walked into the portal not even waiting for a comment from anyone. Dúwath gave one last look to his mother before hesitating entering the portal; bow first, then his body. Telemnar followed right behind the elf prince without hesitation for the unknown ready to finish his given mission. The portal then closed, leaving the others behind in the throne room.
