Well, I guess I don't need to explain, right?
I was trying to write a new chapter of "The True Geniuses", but I couldn't because this shit hasn't left my head, so here is a little prologue, to see if I can stop thinking about this damned idea...
Prologue - The Blades of Destiny
Rain was falling on their bodies.
Black and white hair was wet from the rain.
Clothes soaked.
Both were standing in a rainy night scene where cherry trees surrounded both of them. Puddles of water were everywhere as they both stared at each other without moving a single muscle, not caring about the heavy rain that was falling on them. With each passing second, it was as if hours had passed with the two of them motionless staring at each other.
Red eyes shining like ruby met with tired brown eyes.
"Master Yasuo, why are you doing this?"
The boy asked in a hesitant tone. He was wearing a casual outfit, without any armor or anything else to protect himself. The most eye-catching thing was the Katana in his hands, a Katana that had an unusual white blade that stood out in the rainy night, a white color that shone brightly.
The man, known as Yasuo, just looked at his disciple with a tired look on his face while his hands were on his Katana, which unlike the boy's, was quite normal if you looked at it. It didn't take long for him to answer the boy's question, with a tone of regret and weariness.
"The path I walk is already stained with blood, Bell. The least I can do is bring justice for my dead master."
The boy, named Bell, just looked at Yasuo, clasping his hand over his Katana.
"You taught me the way of a swordsman," the boy began. "You taught me the legendary techniques your master taught you, but first of all, you taught me that humility and wisdom is far more important than all that. You taught me to act moving me by honor."
Yasuo just listened to everything without moving.
"Hey, do you remember the Maple seed you gave me seven months ago?" The boy asked.
"How could I forget? It's the biggest symbol of humility in my old school," Yasuo replied with a small smile as he looked up, the rain falling on him. "My brother had given me the same seed to humbly ask that I stop acting for the ego of my abilities."
The boy was a little surprised at the new revelation, however, he left that for another time and spoke again.
"You also told me that 'a seed is just a seed, but in time one can see the beauty contained within it,'" the boy paused before speaking again. "I have been caring for it all along in a hidden place I made in my Familia's mansion, and I can agree with every word you told me about the seed. I could see its beauty growing little by little."
"I understand," the man replied in a wistful voice. "If possible, I would like the fruit of your labor at some point."
"Then why don't you do it now?"
Yasuo shook his head, causing a few drops of water to fly down his sides.
He looked at Bell.
"You know I can't, kid."
"Why... why are you so obsessed with this revenge you call 'justice'?" The boy asked slowly. "Do you really think your master would want you to follow that path? Even after all you've taught me, why...?"
"You don't understand, boy."
"Then why don't you explain it to me so I can understand something!? No matter how I look at it, it goes against everything you've been teaching me for the past seven whole months! I... I can't allow that!"
Yasuo narrowed his eyes when he saw Bell raising his Katana and pointing it at him.
"Bell, what do you think you're doing?"
"Stopping you from doing something stupid that you'll regret later."
He replied in an unwavering, confident tone, totally different from the gentle, timid, fearful boy he was seven months ago.
"Bullshit that I'm going to regret later, eh?" Yasuo's voice came out with a tone of sarcasm. "I've had plenty of regrets already, kid. One more is nothing to my account."
"I'm still stopping you."
Yasuo looked into his eyes. Bell's hair was completely soaked from the rain, but he noticed the small ends of his hair were red.
"What do you think Hestia will tell you about all this?"
"She will understand me."
"What about Ahri? I doubt she would let you come alone. There's also Aiz from the Loki Familia."
When he mentioned Ahri's name, he saw Bell getting a little nervous, which confirmed that she had no idea he had come after him. Before he could say anything, Bell's voice hit him like an axe.
"What about her? Do you know how worried she must be about you right now?"
"That..." Yasuo found himself unable to answer.
"Why don't you let us fight alongside you? Why don't you let me help you? We can fight together for the right cause..."
"Bell, the enemies are much crueler than you realize," Yasuo replied. "Are you ready to take countless lives in a single battle?"
This time it was Bell who was unable to answer his question.
"I've killed before..." He tried to argue after a while.
Yasuo did not deny it.
"Yes, you have. However, the circumstances were totally different from today, but it was only one enemy. Personally, I wish you never had to take blood from a human life. I don't want you to become like me, a person who has killed thousands."
"You know that's impossible. Besides, if what you said before is true, then in a short time they will invade Orario, won't they? Not just Orario, but other villages that are close to Orario. That's something I can't allow."
Bell was very different from the naive boy he was in the past. He might not be ready to take many lives in a battle, but if the situation demands it and he has no choice, he will do it.
His old dream was to be a hero who helped people. However, because of Yasuo, he decided to follow a new path. And he would not deviate from that path for anything. He was going to take on whoever it was to protect the people close to him, and if it was necessary to take the life of someone who extremely dangerous in order to save that of many other innocent people, then he won't hesitate to do it.
"So we have reached a stalemate."
"It looks that way."
They stared at each other for a few seconds with the rain falling on them.
Yasuo let out a sigh and picked up his Katana, causing Bell to brace himself.
"You know," Yasuo began to speak as he looked at the blade of his Katana. "I told you that I had many regrets, but becoming your master certainly wasn't one of them. On the contrary, I am very proud to have been your Master, boy."
"I am also very happy to have found you, Master."
"Very well."
Yasuo pointed the blade of his Katana at Bell.
"Consider this your last lesson, my disciple."
If it were back in the day, Bell would be trembling at the thought of facing him in a serious fight. However, he was not the same boy as before. He also prepared himself.
The sound of rain reached over both their ears. Cherry leaves were falling from the trees because of a great gale that began to appear over the place.
A large gust of wind was sent in Bell's direction, however, another gust of wind cancelled out the one sent by Yasuo.
Showing a small smile, Yasuo prepared himself, making his feet touch the large puddle of water, and then positioning his arms over his Katana , preparing for the clash.
Bell did the same thing, positioning himself similarly to him.
They both stared at each other for a while at the loud sound of the rain.
A small cherry leaf began to fall in the center of both, and when it touched the large puddle of water in the center, the clash began.
They both slid at great speeds like a gust of wind, causing the water in the puddle to rise upwards.
What came next was the sound of blades clashing with great intensity.
A fight between Master and Disciple.
A fight between two people who completely changed the fate of the world.
A fight between those who wield the Blades of Destiny.
Well, that's it.
That was just the prologue to this idea that I had. And before anything else, I would just like to say that Yasuo will not be part of any Familia, he will just be Bell's master.
Tell me what you think about this story idea.
