TW for abuse
Jay went to the gym after work and Hailey went to the grocery store. Hailey got all of her groceries and walked to her car. When she was putting her groceries in the back of her car someone grabbed Hailey by her wrist. It was her dad and he was drunk. He dragged her to a more secluded area and began to scream at her.
" Why haven't I heard from you in 2 years you don't abandon your family like that." her dad said slapping her across the face
" Stop please stop I'm sorry I've been really busy" Hailey replied starting to cry
" God your such a crybaby stop crying you little brat you deserved that slap and every slap and kick you got as a child" . Her dad yelled
Hailey tried to run away but he kicked the back of her knees and made her fall to the pavement.
" No your not leaving again I am your father I deserve respect
" No no you don't you abused me your whole life that's why I cut you guys off" Hailey yelled.
" You do not talk to me like that," he yelled, punching her in the nose.
" Stop leave me alone why are you doing this" hailey said trying to back away.
" You did this to yourself, this is your fault, this wouldn't have happened if you hadn't cut me off like a good daughter. You deserve this, you're such an ungrateful little brat," he said, grabbing her wrist and squeezing it hard.
Hailey thought she had another opportunity to run so she tried to run. Her dad grabbed her by her wrist again and dragged her a couple of feet and slammed her into a concrete wall. her foot began to bleed and hurt because she was wearing sandals and her ankle twisted and went under her and the top of her food scraped against the pavement
" Stop you need to listen to me I already said you're not going anywhere" her dad yelled kneeing her in the stomach.
Hailey doubled over in pain as her father laughed.
"That's what you get you little brat"
" Why are you doing this? Why can't you just let me be happy?" Hailey asked sobbing.
" You already know why you cut me off for 2 years you don't do that to your family stop crying cry baby this is all your fault" her dad yelled
Jay left the gym early because he had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach that something was wrong. He checked Hailey's location on find my iPhone and saw she was in an abandoned lot. He began to sprint to his car when he saw Voight walking towards the pizza place next to the gym. Voight saw him and ran up to him cornered with the panicked look he had on his face.
" Jay, what's wrong, are you ok?" voight asked
" no Haileys in an abandoned lot," he said showing him his phone
"Let's go I'll follow you" Voight replied.
They both ran to their cars, peeled out of the parking lot, and drove like a bat out of hell to the lot. They both got out and heard yelling and ran towards it.
They ran up and saw Hailey's dad yelling at her and kicking her shin
" If you don't want this to happen again you will call me every day for at least an hour," he said kicking her in the shin.'
"Chicago PD freeze," Jay yelled.
Hailey's dad ran and voight ran after him jay ran up to Hailey and knelt on the ground
"He-hel-help" she sobbed
"Ssh your safe now" jay soothed grabbing her hand
Voight caught her dad and called it in. He held him down to the ground until the patrol got there to take him in.
Cmon Hailey let we need to get you to the hospital
"No, no hospital please no hospital I don't want to go to the hospital" Hailey sobbed
" Ssh babe you might have more serious injuries"
" Please don't make me go just take me home and call will and have him take a look at me I don't want to go to the hospital" Hailey sobbed
" Ok ok ssh ssh we can do that" jay soothed
Jay picked her up and carried her to his truck. He set her on the tailgate of his truck and went to get napkins from his car.
"I want to get your nose taken care of before we go home," Jay told her as he held a napkin to her nose while grabbing her hand with his free hand
Jay was able to get the bleeding to stop a couple of minutes later and carried her to the passenger seat and buckled her in. he shot a quick text to voight .
J is taking Hailey home. She doesn't want to go to the hospital but she agreed to come over and take a look."
Jay then called will
J Are you working tonight
W No why
J Oh thank god. Hailey's dad found her and beat her. She is hurt but doesn't want to go to the hospital can you come over and take a look at her
W Ok I'm on my way
When they got home Hailey began to have a panic attack.
" Ssh hails your safe now it's ok I've got you breathe for me he's not going to hurt you again just breathe and squeeze my hand" jay soothed while grabbing her hand and rubbing her back.
"It's all my fault I deserved this note of this would've happened if I had just kept in contact" hails sobbed
" No this s not your fault none of this is your fault you didn't deserve this"
Will came running in a minute later and cringed when he saw her. Both of her knees and the top of her foot were scraped up. Her face had a handprint on it and was beginning to bruise and her wrist was starting to bruise and so was her shin . Will ran up to them
" Hey Hailey can you tell me what hurts" will asked
"Face, wrist, knees, left foot ankle, shin and stomach" Hailey replied shakily.
" Ok, I'm going to start by taking your pulse ok."
Will waited for a nod and then took her pulse which was rapid.
He then did a concussion test and determined she had a slight concussion.
" Ok Hailey you have a slight concussion I want to look at your wrist, shin and ankle now
He pressed on her wrist and Hailey hissed in pain and pulled away
"Ssh squeeze my hand" jay soothed
" I'm sorry, hails, your wrist has a slight sprain. I'm going to wrap it now," he said, grabbing ace wrap out of his bag.
He wrapped her wrist and then checked her ankle. She hissed in pain again when he pushed on her ankle.
" Ssh I'm sorry hails your ankle is sprained i'm going to put you in a brace," he said getting an ankle brace out of his bag
He put on the brace and then checked her shin which was badly bruised but nothing was broken.
Hailey cried out when he pushed on her shin.
"Ssh your ok squeeze my hand" Jay soothed
" I know I'm sorry your shin is badly bruised but nothings broken he told her as he got some antiseptic wipes out of his bag.
" This is gonna sting Hailey" Will told her
He began to clean her wounds when she hissed in pain and squeezed jays hand.
" Ssh just squeeze my hand" jay soothed
Will got her knees and foot cleaned and bandaged
"I know I know I'm sorry can I take a look at your stomach" will asked
He waited for Hailey to nod and then lifted up her shirt. He took a look and felt her stomach and was relieved that she just had bruising
" Ok Hailey you just have some bruising on your stomach you have a slight concussion so try to limit screen time physical activity and avoid alcohol for the next 3 days take at least a week off work to let your ankle and wrist heal. Ice your ankle;e, wrist, and face often and call me if anything changes" will tell her as he was cleaning up his supplies.
" Ok thank you" Hailey replied
" Thank you man, love you," Jay said hugging will
" Love you too man I hope you feel better Hails.' will said
Will went home and Jay took Hailey to bed. Hailey slept for an hour before waking up from a nightmare.
" Ssh ssh hails your ok your safe no knees going to hurt you it's ok you're ok just breathe" jay soothed she repeated this until she calmed down
He held her until she fell back asleep. She had 3 more nightmares that night and Jay helped her through everyone.
When they woke up Voight came over to give them an update on her dad.
Voight told them that her dad was being charged with assault on an officer. They informed him that Hailey would be out for at least a week and light gave jay the week off to take care of her
A week later she was still not sleeping and having nightmares but she was ready to go back to work. When she got to work Trudy and all of intelligence hugged her. 3 weeks later she was finally able to sleep through the night. She was glad she would never have to deal with her dad again.
