TW for ptsd and death

One moment hailey and jay were chasing after a suspect the next moment they were both on the floor a truck blew up. Jay came to a couple of seconds later and sHaileyley lying unconscious on the ground. He began to panic.

"HAILEY" Jay yelled and panicked as he ran over to her.

Hailey came to and everything was blurry.

" h

Hailey hey are you ok are you hurt can you hear me," jay asked concerned.

Hailey tried to sit up but Jay stopped her.

" Don't try to move to stay down the ambo will be here soon," Jay told her

"What happened," Hailey asked, confused.

"The truck exploded im, ok but you were caught in the brunt of it"

61 got there and loaded Hailey into the ambo once they got to the hospital they got X-rays of her ribs and neck. Once determined everything was clear will gave her a concussion test.

" ok, Hailey you have a slight concussion, take it easy for the next couple of days, and don't have alcohol you're going to be pretty sore for the next couple of days."

I'm going to clean up your wounds now i'll be right back" Will said walking out of the room to grab supplies she had a cut on her cheek and some cuts on the back of her neck from where her hood rode up when she landed and some cuts on her wrists and legs from where her jacket and pants rode up when she flew.

Will came in a couple of minutes later with a bottle of antiseptic cleanser, band-aids, and Neosporin

"This is gonna sting Hailey", Will told her.

Hailey grabbed Jay's hand and winced as he began to clean her cuts.

"Ssh your ok squeeze my hand" jay soothed

"I know I'm sorry I'm all done," Will said as he finished

"Jay are you ok do you need to be checked out," Will asked

"No, I'm good just sore" jay replied

"Ok i just want to look at your back and do a quick light test" will told him.

Will lifted up his shirt and looked at his back and was relieved to see nothing there.

They went back to the district and finished up for the day. When they got back, Hailey was in a lot of pain and Jay was mildly sore. Jay got her some Advil then took some himself and made Mac n cheese for dinner. After dinner, they watched a movie and both iced. Once their movie finished Hailey was still in a lot of pain. Jay ran them a bath and used some sore muscle bath soak and bubble bath. They got in the hot bath together and stayed there for about an hour then Jay washed HHailey'shair for her because he could tell her neck was bothering her. He gave her a scalp massage when he did the shampoo. Once they were done jay felt much better but Hailey was still in pain

"What hurts babe?" jay asked

"Neck, back,shoulders" Haileyy replied

"Ok go lay on your stomach in bed I'm gonna give you a massage" jay told her.

"Ok thank you" , Hailey replied.

She grabbed her heated blanket and plugged it in and laid on top of it on her stomach and pulled the covers over her lower half. Jay went and grabbed some sore muscle massage oil, a hair dryer brush and a hair tie.

I'm gonna blow dry your hair and then do your massage" jay told her

"Ok Thanks I love you" Hailey replied

"I love you too," Jay told her.

He finished blow drying her hair and then began to massage her neck. He dug his fingers into the base of her neck and she moaned in appreciation. He spent 20 minutes massaging her neck then moved to her shoulders. He started with light pressure and increased the pressure to get all of the knots out. 30 minutes later he moved onto her back. Once he was done with the massage he went to the kitchen and grabbed an ice roller. He spent 30 minutes running the ice roller over her neck, back and shoulders before going back into the kitchen and heating up 2 large corn heating bags. He put them on her and then went to bed. Unfortunately he woke up 2 hours later from a nightmare. Hailey woke up to Jay thrashing around and whimpering.

"Ssh your ok jay you're safe you're in Chicago with me in our bed it's just a dream please wake up," Hailey said as she put a hand on his shoulder.

When Hailey touched his shoulder he shot io in bed and began to hyperventilate. He was having a panic attack.

Hailey crawled in front of him and pulled him into a hug. She took his and rubbed his back with her other hand.

"Ssh Jay your ok your safe it's ok I'm here squeeze my hand breathe for me. In 1,2,3,4 out 1,2,3,4 you're safe you're in Chicago ssh" Hailey soothed. She repeated this until he calmed down.

"Sorry" jay said shakily.

"No don't apologize it's not your fault it's okay you couldn't help it it happens to ever,yoneHaileyey told him.

They sat in silence for a few minutes and Hailey kept rubbing his back.

" did the explosion trigger your PTSD," Hailey asked.

"Yeah it reminded me of the time my whole team got blown up. Mouse and I were the only survivors.

"Oh my god jay I'm so sorry," Hailey said sympathetically.

"I miss them" jay cried

Hailey pulled jay into a hug and began to rick him and rub his back.

"sssh it's ok I'm so sorry jay let it all out it's ok ssh I've got you".

They sat there like that for 30 minutes before Jay pulled away.

I'm gonna go get you some water babe do you need Advil" Hailey asked.

"Yes please," Jay responded. She got some Advil for him and took some herself and grabbed a water bottle, and went back into their room.

"Here take these and drink some waterHaileyy said, handing him the adviAdvill and water.

Jay took the advil and drank most of the water bottle.

"Hey how are you feeling," he asked her.

"Much better thank you let's focus on you right now" Hailey replied.

Hailey laid Jay down and put his head on her chest so he could hear her heartbeat. She then grabbed her phone off of her nightstand and played some white noise so Jay had something to listen to instead of silence. He fell asleep with his head on Hailey's chest as she held his hand and rubbed his back.

When they woke up in the morning they both didn't feel good so they called in sick. Hailey was really sore again and Jay still had a headache. They relaxed and cuddled for a bit and ate some lunch. After lunch Jay gave her a massage again and did the ice rollers and heat. They watched movies the rest of the day and went to bed. Jay and Hailey both tossed and turned that night. Hailey was in pain and Jay's PTSD wasn't allowing him to sleep. Thankfully it was Saturday the next day so they didn't have work. Hailey was still in pain when they woke up and Jay could tell she didn't feel good

"Hey babe are you still in pain," Jay asked concerned

"Yeah my whole body hurts" Hailey replied

"I'm sorry babe lets see if will can see you today" Jay told her gently pulling her into a hug

He called Will a couple of minutes later.

J Hey are you working today?

W Yeah why?

J Hailey is still in a lot of pain. Can you see her today?

W Yeah sure my lunch break is at noon bring her then.

J Ok thanks man see you then.

They watched movies for a bit till it was time to head to med.

Will looked her over and decided to refer her to a chiropractor.

" Ok, I referred you to a chiropractor. You have an appointment tomorrow at 1 at advanced health with doctor Reynolds. For now, I have prescribed you bio freeze to put on your back neck and shoulder continue doing what you've been doing for the past couple of days" will told them.

They left med and went to an ice cream shop while waiting for the prescription to be ready. Once it was ready they picked it up and went home. When they got home Jay massaged the bio freeze into her neck back and shoulders and did the ice and heat again. They watched movies all night and Jay gave her another massage before bed. They were both exhausted and slept the following morning. They watched tv until Hailey had to leave for her appointment. Jay drove them to her appointment and they got called back soon after they got there. Dr.Reynodds walked in and introduced himself a couple of minutes later.

"I'm in doctor Reynolds i will be doing your treatment today," he told them shaking both their hands.

" Ok, first am going to start by having you lay on a roller table for 30 minutes then i'll come back and start your adjustment."

"Ok" Hailey replied.

Dr.Reynolds set her up on the table and left the room. Hailey and Jay talked until he came back 30 minutes later.

"Ok i'm going to do your adjustment now it shouldn't hurt so let me know if it does. Dr.Reynolds's did her adjustment then did some stim, lastly, he did some ultrasound therapy.

"Ok, Hailey I'm done. I want you to come back in 3 days for some cupping therapy" he told her.

"Ok hailey replied.

"One last thing you guys have been doing massages ice heat and taking Advil correct?" he asked her.

"Yes Hailey replied.

"Ok" great keep doing that and do the massage with the bio freeze," he told her.

They went home and cuddled and watched movies before going to bed. Hailey went to work on Monday but was on desk duty. 2 days later she had her cupping appointment. Jay took Hailey to her appointment.

"Ok Hailey you might feel pressure but it shouldn't be painful" Dr.Reynoldss told her as he prepped her.

Dr.reynolds did the procedure and Hailey only felt a little bit of pressure.

"OK Hailey im did. You might be a little sore and experience fatigue so take it easy for the next day or two. Listen to your body, come back in a week, and hopefully I'll be able to clear you for the field. Also, continue the massages of ice and heat." Dr.reynolds told them.

Hailey was a little more tired than usual that day so they went to bed early. A week later she got cleared to go back into the field.
