Quick AN: Hey all! This is kind of my take at Marvel while throwing Izuku into the bunch and mixing things up. I hope you enjoy!
Izuku looked down at the villain's hand that was currently pressed against his stomach. He felt numb, he realized.
It slowly spread from the distal part of his limbs, coming inwards. Everything seemed… muted. Colors fading, sights blurring, and sound turning into a distant buzz.
He faintly recognized Mirio shouting something. A force pushed against him, he fell to the ground. That didn't hurt either, he realized.
Am I dying?
He couldn't. Not yet, he still had so much left to do. He had made promises. Several of them. To All Might, to Kaachan, to mom, to his friends.
I don't want to die.
He mustered the effort to focus on something - anything, lifting his head, his eyes locked onto his hands. They were pale, and - strangely enough - they were translucent. He could see right through them. Blackness encroached upon his vision.
His head hit the wet asphalt of the alley he was in.
"Shit."
Everything faded to black.
Until it wasn't.
He could feel again.
There was wind, a lot of wind. It was loud in his ears and he could feel it blowing heavily against him. Why did his stomach feel like it was in his throat?
He opened his eyes.
Oh.
Well that would explain it.
His eyes bulged. The wind wasn't pushing against him, he was pushing against the wind! And oh yeah, did he mention he was falling? Because he was falling, very, very fast. His eyes scanned the ground that was rapidly approaching. He was in a city, skyscrapers and other numerous tall buildings pointed upwards towards his rapidly falling form like jagged spikes ready to impale him.
He took a page from Kaachan.
"SHIT!"
He scanned the rapidly approaching buildings, trying to figure a way to land in a manner that didn't leave him a greasy red smear on the pavement. His eyes mapped the buildings and the bustling city below, making a plan on how to land semi-safely.
Emerald bolts of energy arced around his form and his eyes glowed. "Full Cowling 8%!"
He waited, until he had deemed his body close enough and with a mighty burst of air from the flick of his finger, he rocketed towards the side of one of the many buildings. With a wince he crashed his feet into its concrete side and made a small crater in the thick concrete. He let some of his momentum bleed off and just before he could start to fall yet again he adjusted his trajectory and shot off towards the side of another building.
He repeated this process over and over, slowly but steadily getting closer to the ground while bleeding off any momentum he might be getting from his descent. As he got closer to the ground he could make out a bunch of civilians going about their daily life. And, soon they too noticed him. They pointed and yelled and some even whipped out their cellphones to start to record the phenomena.
He blinked. 'What is going on, they must be used to the sight of someone using their quirk by now? Where am I?'
Finally, he landed. A crowd had surrounded him, people of all sorts of races staring at him in awe and even some in fear. Multiple cell phones were recording him. With a breath he dispelled his hold on One for All, returning his eyes to their normal Emerald and the sparks dying down.
He could feel a sweat on the back of his neck form as everyone stared at him. He gave an awkward smile and rubbed the back of his head. "H-Hi, um, I don't suppose anybody could tell m-me just exactly where I am?"
They all just kept staring at him. Some of them looked at each other confused and whispered to each other.
He frowned.
"U-uh I d-don't suppose I could use one of y-your phones to call someone could I?" He finished with a hopeful grin.
There was a discontented whisper that ran through the crowd. They all looked unsure at each other. Some of them stopped recording.
Izuku felt a pull on his arm. A little blonde boy, who looked no older than 6, looked up at him and excitedly said something to him. Izuku felt his eyebrows pinching together. A woman came up to the boy and pulled him away from Izuku, and said something to the boy before looking at him in fear. Izuku frowned.
'Where in the world am I?' he thought.
Suddenly there was an ear piercing wail that startled the crowd and Izuku himself out of the deadlock that they had. In the distance he could see multiple white vehicles approaching, weaving through the traffic on the street, red and blue lights flashing atop them.
The crowd quickly dispersed, everyone seemed to know where they were heading.
"Finally, I can get some answers around here."
Izuku stayed put and let out a sigh of relief. He waited in place as they pulled up and put on a friendly smile as several of them got out. That smile quickly turned upside down as they started pulling guns.
One of them shouted something at him.
He gritted his teeth, he didn't know what they were saying. He put his hands up and stayed put.
"O-Officers, no need to be hostile. I'm the hero D-Deku! I'm a student attending UA, I'm sure if you c-called them we could clear whatever t-this is up." he finished, keeping a wary eye on all the officers. Why did he have to stutter?
The officer who seemed to be in charge frowned at him. He said something to one of the other officers next to them, who pulled out his radio and quickly relayed something into it, putting away his gun.
Izuku, who took this as a friendly sign, let out a sigh of relief and put his arms down. He took a step forward towards the lead officer but immediately jumped out of the way as a loud crack filled his hearing. He activated full cowling out of instinct and hissed, looking down at his right arm, which had a dark red line across his shoulder.
"What was that for?" He yelled in shock.
He looked at the officer who did it, a young one, probably fresh out of the academy. He was shakingly holding his gun up at Izuku, eyes wide in fear. He whispered something that seemed to set some of the others off, they pointed their guns at him.
In the distance Izuku could hear more wailing and the sounds of a helicopter steadily getting closer.
Izuku, seeing this, decided it was time to get out of dodge. He didn't understand what was going on, where he was, or how he even really got here. Well actually, he kind of understood the last one, but he needed to find a way to get back. So with a quick scan of the area he flicked his fingers at the group of officers. He wasn't using any serious power of course, like 2% at best. He didn't want to hurt the officers, just wanted to distract them.
With a gust of wind they fell back on the ground and Izuku quickly bolted towards a nearby alley, using 8% of Full Cowling to get away. "I'm sorry!" he yelled as he ran past.
He heard shouts behind him and shots fired off down the alley that never hit him. He quickly used the opposing walls of the alley to bounce up, landing atop a 4-story building and started to run atop the rooftops. Finally he stopped after maybe 20 minutes of running. Taking a look around the city stretched on in 3 directions for as far as he could see, but to his far west he could see the ocean. Finally, he saw something that finally told him where he was.
"I'm in America." He breathed out. A giant red, white, and blue flag flapped amongst the wing. Stars and stripes and all. Well, that at least explained why no one could understand him and why he couldn't understand them. He didn't speak english. Still, wasn't America called the 'melting pot.' What were the chances that out of that entire crowd that had surrounded him, not a single one could speak Japanese.
He started panicking. He mumbled to himself. "WhatamIgonnadowhatamIgonnadoImbeingchasedlikeimsomekindavillainthiscantbehappeninghowintheworldamigonnagethome-"
The sound of a helicopter quickly invaded his thoughts. He stopped and took a deep breath. Now wasn't the time to panic. He slapped his cheeks and focused. He was being hunted both on foot and in air. He needed to find a way to avoid them until he could find a way back to Japan.
His eyes locked onto the streets below, people were milling in and out of a set of stairs that led below the street.
'Well the subway will keep me hidden from any helicopters at least. I'll still have to look out for any police on the ground though. And I don't have any money on me that'll be accepted so I'll have to sneak on.'
With a grunt he dropped down into the alleyway below and powered down One for All. He then exited onto the street as conspicuously as he could, which was a rather hard thing to do considering he stood out like a sore thumb. He was the only one he could see with dark green hair that didn't look dyed. Oh, and there was also the fact that he was still in his hero suit. He got plenty of looks for that.
He quickly entered the underground and went into one of the tiny shops located within. A gift shop he thought, from all the odd ends and baubles that were being selled. He went to the clothing section and threw on a gray hoodie, pulling the hood up to hide his hair. He looked at the door where a sensor was, back to the hoodie he nabbed, and back to the cashier. With a quick dash he ran through the sensor, setting it off.
He heard her yell after him. "Sorry!" He yelled back.
He ran through the subway and hopped the turnstile as several security officers chased after him. He then tried his best to blend into the crowd as he heard them yell after him.
'Iida would lecture me for hours if he ever finds out about this'
A small grin came to his face at the thought. He made his way to the boarding zone and quickly hopped onto one of the trains, he could figure out where exactly to go after he wasn't currently being pursued. He went through each of the cars and finally settled in one that was nearly empty.
A TV overhead was playing the news, he focused on it as he saw a video of his descent from falling and his confrontation with the officers. He frowned, he didn't need to understand what was being said to understand what they were probably saying about him.
He sat down in the seat and leaned back with a sigh, closing his eyes. Jeez he was tired. And with that tiredness came despair. How did he get here? Oh sure he knew that the villain he was fighting had sent him here somehow, but why did he land here in America? How was he gonna get back when he was currently being hunted across the city like a villain. Was he even-.
"H-Huh?" he startled when someone cleared their throat above him.
An older man stood in front of him looking down upon him. He wore a dark maroon bodysuit with purple accents. Metallic red braces covered his forearms and he wore a dark set of purple... boxers? A shiny, maroon metal helmet sat upon his head covering it almost fully, leaving a window to see his face below. A dark purple cape hung from his shoulders all the way down to his ankles.
He looked up and for the third time today let out a swear. Standing above him, he thought, was a hero here to capture him. He started to sweat.
How little he knew.
She stood there over top of the room, watching all the agents scramble to do their job. They had been searching for over an hour now and have come back with nothing. It was infuriating. How could they lose someone who stuck out like a sore thumb from the rest of the populace? The boy clearly wasn't even trained in stealth seeing as they had managed to keep eyes on him for such a long time.
She heard heavy steps behind her.
"Report."
She closed her eyes and sighed. "We've got nothing sir. Once the train derailed we lost track of him."
She heard a grunt. A lone eye peered at her. "Find him. We're gonna need power like that."
'Soon. It is almost time.' She thought.
She had waited for so, so, very long. Only a couple of more years and it would all be over. She had seen it all, everything there was to see. Nothing was hidden to her, or so she thought.
Then she felt it. She felt him.
'Now, just who are you? I haven't seen you before.'
AN: Hey guys! It's been a while for me since I last wrote something, but I just couldn't get this idea out of my head. I've already got like two and a half big arcs planned out and even a few smaller arcs to break things up a bit without getting too serious. How did you like it? I know there wasn't exactly a lot going on in this chapter, I was just trying to let Izuku try and get his bearings in this chapter. Also, quick note, I don't really like crybaby Izuku. Not saying that imma cut it out of the story completely, cause it is part of his character, but I'm not gonna write too much about him crying.
Next chapter will be a lot more action packed! That's a promise. Anyways, I hope I'll see you all next time. I don't exactly have a set schedule so fair warning. Just popping chapters out when I have the time. See you next time!
