President Elizabeth Levy sat in her office, the room somehow felt too big and at the same time too small in one-day things had changed drastically.

Her computer was full of reports if it wasn't the number of dead- or the supplies that were being counted by the Alliance and Earth forces.

Then it was the information about the various devices the alien had brought with him.

She was tempted to grab a bottle and drink herself to sleep but as much as she wanted to she couldn't do it.

The various representatives of the surviving colonies wanted the leaders and the people of Mars to pay for choosing to remain neutral when all of Humanity had been threatened.

Even now as she let out a breath of relief, as the realization that the Minbari wouldn't or couldn't attack as long as the alien remained began to set in, she couldn't afford to allow herself to cry or celebrate.

She couldn't laugh or cry because both actions were so closely connected if she did one then it wouldn't be long before she did the other.

She already knew about the Minbari prisoners and what the men were doing to them and if she had to say the truth she couldn't feel any pity for them.

She just wished that the alien hadn't limited itself to the females of the race and allowed all of Humanity to hurt the males of the Minbari.

She wanted revenge.

She didn't recognize her own thoughts, but they were there, just everyone else that was in charge at the moment.

Maybe it was because she knew that had this creature not shown up then all of Humanity would have been whipped out, or the fact that if anyone had to compare the Human race as a hole to something.

It would be a dog that had been repeatedly beaten by someone and the only reason that it was still alive was that someone even stronger had heard its cries of pain.

Humanity still showed its fangs but that was it, all of the alliance's strength was gone and she doubted that they could even reclaim a fraction of what they lost.

The massive space stations and ships that the creature had brought and placed between the remaining colonies made it easy for the alliance ships to reach both the stations and the colonies.

Everything the alien had brought with it was massive and significantly stronger than anything both earth and the alliance had.

Yet all of the machinery that the researchers had managed to get their hands on was primitive.

So far everything that they had managed to scan or take apart was anything known, yet when all of the parts were put together they made something that no one had ever thought about.

One group of people that had entered just one of the strange space stations had discovered that an entire room was filled with what looked like the old tanks that were once used by earth's military.

Another room was filled with tans witch's purpose was immediately discovered, as the computers said that they were cloning tanks.

the next room was filled with what was called learning machines, their purpose was to teach the clones everything that they needed to learn.

The reports just kept coming in as more and more of the alien's gifts were discovered inside of the space station.

In the space between the colonies several gargantuan space stations, she called them that because she didn't know what else to call them floated alone.

The alien had claimed that it had brought them so Humanity could get the resources it needed, but anyone that looked at the things knew instantly that there were meant for more than that.

She placed her head on her desk the moment she sat down and closed her eyes as she tried to calm her mind.

The League of none Allied worlds was already trying to contact them, but no one answered them, those races had abandoned Humanity when they needed them the most.

Her mind returned to the Minbari prisoners and now that she had managed to calm down she couldn't help but think back at the alien's words.

For a long moment, she thought about Humanities past, it if had not been the men that claimed the conquered tribes or kingdom's females, then it would be the women that claimed the males.

She was angry, but strangely enough, she was angry at the alien who used them as its excuse for taking the women.

While he did take the prisoners and give them to the men, it had only done so after the Minbari ignored his warning, these prisoners didn't belong to the Humans but to it.

She knew that she wouldn't be the only one to come to this conclusion, but what did it matter, as things stood they relied on this creature to keep them safe and would continue to do so until they were certain that they had reclaimed a small portion of their power.

She could feel herself falling asleep her shoulders felt heavy and she was tired.

She felt as if she had worked for so long without rest that now that she was finally able to sit down that all of the exhaustion was catching up to her.

"Feeling better." she heard the alien say to her and she quickly sat up, her eyes wide with both shock and fear.

Her office was supposed to be heavily guarded and there were several layers of...her mind stopped as she remembered that the man that sat in front of her was more powerful than anything anyone had seen before.

"I seem to have frightened you, next time I'll knock so that you may allow me to enter." he said to her.

She swallowed knowing full well that the creature was capable of breaking the if it chose to do so.

"Sorry I must have fallen asleep." she said to the man who just smiled at her.

"Forgive me for sounding rude but why are you here? do you want to talk about something?" she asked the man who slowly placed a warm hand on her cheek.

"Child don't be afraid of your elders."

"I am to you, what the Vorlons are to the Minbari." it said to her.

'I don't understand, what are the Vorlons?" she said to the man who removed his hand from her but kept his smile.

"Oh I must have said more than I should have, what a fool I am." he said to her before he stood up.

The man began to walk around her office and looked at the pictures hanging on the walls.

'It's incredble, don't you agree how things like these would take a person months or years to make, then machines came and made them in minutes."

"Yet when that happened the soul behind the paintings was no longer there." he said to her.

Elizabeth didn't understand what the man was trying to say to her, so she just answered him.

"I guess that's the price of progress."

The man didn't say anything he just turned to look at her, he just stared at her for a long moment before he walked towards her again.

Elizabeth watched as the man's smile vanished and he now looked at her with cold eyes.

She struggled to keep herself under control and just as she was about to regain control of her emotions the man spoke.

"I'll try to say this as clearly as I can, but I want to ask you something."

"Let's put my existence away for a moment and both the ships and space stations don't exist or now okay." he said to her and Elizabeth nodded.

"Good."

"Now that all of you saw the end of your race, your world, and everything that is you."

"I want to ask you, was it worth it?"

"All of the pain- all the wars- the moments of joy, the moments that took your breath away."

"Were they all with experiencing?"

"If all of you knew that today was the last day of the Human race, was it worth it?"

Elizabeth began to cry not because she was scared or felt loss but because she suddenly felt and saw everything she had experienced in life.

"Yes," she answered the man who just [place a hand on her head and smiled then he was gone.

There was no trace of him ever being in the room, and while she had activated the cameras in the room there was no way of knowing if anyone had seen or heard what the creature did and said.
