` Elijah drove us to a little diner out of Mystic falls, wanting to take me away from all the chaos. It was nice to have him all to myself and not worry about the prying eyes in Mystic Falls.
"So if I saw this right, you were born many minutes before Elena?" Elijah stated.
"Yes,' I nodded.
"And the only magic Elena has is her doppelganger blood," he said.
"Yep, we're both special in our own ways."
"You're way more special," Elijah assured me.
"So, I'm told," I nodded and giggled.
"Even your dad saw that," he said.
"Which is why Elena and I were separate."
"Because you were a threat," he added.
"Pretty much, plus our similar, almost identical, looks," I shrugged.
"Didn't want you to be mistaken as the doppelganger?" he asked.
"Exactly," I nodded, "You catch on quick Elijah."
"When I care for someone, of course."
"More than Katerina or Tatia?" I asked.
"Way more," he promised as he leaned in and kissed me.
We ordered our food and talked about key points in our lives. We talked about Klaus daggering all his siblings. I voiced my opinion on how ridiculous that was. Even though, sometimes, Kol needed it when he created chaos.
"Kol has a thing for you," Elijah spoke up as we ate.
"Seriously?" I chuckled.
"As does Niklaus, but he has his eyes set on a certain blonde."
"Caroline Forbes?" I asked.
"Yes," he nodded.
"Ah," I nodded, "She's the perfect blonde barbie doll type."
"She seems like a good girl," Elijah commented.
"NO doubt," I agreed. "It's just I usually don't get along with that type."
"You and your rebellious, bad girl ways," Elijah chuckled.
"You love it, though," I grinned.
"I do, and I see good in you too. I mean you did fly all the way from Europe to help protect a little sister oyou never even met before."
"I haven't had much sense of family, so, I mean, not many would blame me."
"I know darling," Elijah said as he kissed my hand.
We finished eating then headed back to Mystic Falls. Elijah encouraged me to go talk to my sister. I agreed, but I put my ring back on.
I found Elena at the Salvatore place. I sat down and we started talking.
"IS there something going on with you and Elijah" she asked me a bit too curiously.
"Is that a personal question for your knowledge, or a piece of information for the Salvatores?" I asked her, brow raised in challenge.
"Maybe, both?" she said.
"Look, I'm not going to be used as a weakness against Elijah," I warned.
"So you do?" she asked.
"Maybe," I shrugged nonchalantly. "No one better try to use me against him, they're dire consequences awaiting the one who tries."
"Something about you, it's different," she said to me. "Stefan and Damon sense it."
"Which is why you and I were separated way back when. The Mikaelsons have never in their thousand years come across someone like me."
"What are you exactly?" Elena asked.
"A witch this world has never seen before, like a whole new breed."
"Damon mentioned your ring," she said nodding towards my hand.
"Yes, it protects me from locator spells and keeps my powers at bay," I replied. "Elena we both have magic in our blood. Only one of us can yield it."
"If we were identical, do you think it would be different?" she asked.
"Probably, but that's fate. We were never meant to be identical, and that's why we aren't." I shrugged.
"You're so sure about that," she says, almost skeptically.
"I've seen it, I've felt it, I've lived it. Trust me Elena we were meant to be separated. It's made it who we are now."
"I probably would be completely different if I did grow up with a twin," she said in agreement.
"As would I," I said to her, "Not to mention the trouble I would've caused you, and Jenna, and Jeremy."
"Did you know John and Isobel well?" she asked.
"John I knew a little, Isobel, not so much," I replied. "I know that I must've done something drastic as a child because I'm pretty sure he was terrified of me."
"You don't remember?" she asked.
"Nope," I shook my head, "I just know I've worn a piece of amethyst and silver as long as I can remember. And wore this bracelet," I said revealing a charm bracelet with custom charms including a locket of vervain.
"Vervain," Elena said knowingly as she toyed around with it. "So what do all of these all mean?"
"They each represent a part of me from the gymnast to the cheerleader representations. Then, there's my musical inspirations. Music is a huge part of my life. Most of these were custom made for me, all representing some of my favorite artists and groups."
"What kind of music do you prefer?"
"K-Pop," I answered. "And No! I do not like BTS! BlackPink is cool, though, one of my favs."
"I take it you don't like BTS?" Elena Giggled.
"I do not!" I replied, "Totally overrated. There's better groups who should be in their place, Big Bang for example."
"Elena," Stefan's voice called as he entered the room. "Adeline, we were wondering where you went."
"Although, I have an idea," Damon said snarkily as he came from behind his brother.
"Last time I checked I didn't have to run anything by the two of you. I'm not Elena!" I said to them both
"Guys just leave her alone. Seriously, you don't want to piss her off," Elena said as she eyed me.
"She's just a simple little human," Damon said, "...unless she's not."
I sighed in annoyance. This. Again. "Elena do you mind telling them what I told you. I need to go clear my head. I'll see all of you later."
So, before anyone could protest, I left the boarding house behind and headed back to the Mikaelson mansion. Elijah was there waiting patently on me.
"Well, Elena knows my secret, and, by now, the Salvatores do too. I made sure to let it be known I'm not to be messed with."
"I'm afraid something's up. Do you mind getting out of town until I give you an all clear?" Elijah asked.
"What'd you know that I don't?" I asked suspiciously.
"I'll fill you in later," he said, a promise as he kissed my forehead.
"Or share blood with me and tell me now," I said in annoyance.
"Fine, I'll take from your wrist this time."
"Fine," I offered him my wrist and he bit his and put it to my mouth.
It all started pouring in. The Mikaelsons were linked and their mother wanted to kill them, all of them, all at once. No!"
'Let me do something," I said as I detached myself from his wrist.
"You will be, by staying out of harm's way and leaving town," Elijah ordered.
"But Eli..." I said before he cut me off.
"No but Elijah nothing," he said intensely.
"As soon as this is stopped you'll call me right away?" I asked.
"Yes, "Elijah nodded. "Now leave your ring here so I can find you if I need to. And so your powers are at full blast."
"Fine," I sighed as I handed him my ring.
"Now, go," he said as he kissed me goodbye.
"Okay," I said, barely a whisper.
I got in my sports car and sped out of town. Right before I passed the Mystic Falls welcome sign, something was in the middle of the road very quickly and before I could swerve to not hit it. I hit it. I didn't have my seat belt on and the last thing I remembered before blacking out was being hurled forward toward the windshield.
When I awoke, I was laying in Elijah's bed at the Mikaelson home. I thought maybe it was just a dream, but the headache I had told me otherwise. Then it all hit me, I was in transition. Holy fucking shit!
This is not what I was expecting, but it was either turn of face a certain death. I risked losing my magic because witches couldn't be vampires, but as Elijah said, I wasn't like other witches, what if I was different? And Elijah, my noble Elijah, sat there holding my hand waiting for this moment.
"Adeline, I'm so sorry," Elijah said sadly on the verge of tears.
"What happened?" I asked.
"My mother had my brother stop you from leaving town. No one intended on you dying. You weren't kidding when you said you were reckless. Driving without a seat belt!" Now he was scolding me.
"Elijah," I sighed, "my head is killing me. This is not the time..."
"I'm sorry," he frowned again, "You have a choice to make."
"Turn me," I said to him. "I fear death. I have nightmares. I guess this is why. My body longed for immortality."
"A bag of blood okay?" he asked.
"Of course," I nodded.
So, Elijah opened up the blood bag and handed it to me. I drank, and then, I felt different. Then my gums stung, I knew my fangs were coming out and I knew the veins around my eyes also protruded.
Elijah gasped and, suddenly, I saw myself in his eyes. My eyes glowed a molten goldish coppery color. Rose gold, really. Now my obsession with that color made sense. Then, I gasped because I read Elijah's mind. My powers were still intact.
To test my theory, I summoned a ball of fire in my hand. Elijah and I both gasped.
"Adeline," Elijah said in shock as he come in to kiss me. They stayed. They actually stayed.
There was a knocking on the door. Elijah told the knocker to come in. Soon, we were joined by Klaus.
"How is she?" he asked Elijah.
"I'm fine," I said to him, "I didn't become suddenly mute. I can speak for myself."
"I'm sorry Adeline," Klaus said. "From the bag of blood in your hand, I take it you turned."
"Yes," I nodded, "and well." another ball of fire I summoned.
"Show him your face, your eyes," Elijah said. I sighed and focused on the blood, my fangs protruded along with the veins in my eyes. And my eyes glowed that beautiful rose gold.
"Incredible," Klaus gasped in amazement.
"She truly is one of a kind," Elijah smirked.
"I can see that," Klaus agreed.
"You two are okay?" I asked them remembering why Elijah wanted me to leave town.
"We're fine," Elijah assured me.
"We will figure out our issues with our mother, don't fret, love," Klaus said.
"It's you we need to focus on now. You're a newborn vampire."
"Yes," I nodded, 'You two will have to keep me in check."
"I, myself, would like to see you let loose," Klaus commented.
"Niklaus, you do realize we may have a weapon on our hands," Elijah told Klaus cautiously.
"I do," Klaus nodded, "Which is why I'm going to keep her neutral so no one can use her against us or anyone else."
"So you're not going to use me to your advantage?" I asked daringly.
"No, love," I know you don't want to choose sides. You just want to be with my brother and keep your sister safe."
"Which is something we all can agree on,' I said. "You have your reasoning for keep Elena safe, as do I. Even if you want her to make your hybrids."
"You're wise, love," Klaus said.
"It's all on the surface of your mind," I told him. And it was.
"This is all going to take some getting used to," Klaus said.
"She's magnificent," Elijah added.
"She is," Klaus agreed. "She's going to need a daylight amulet."
"She is," Elijah agreed.
"I"ll bring a ring and the spell," Klaus said.
"Yes, please do," Elijah said. "I'm sure she can do the spell herself."
Klaus left the room, then many minutes later returned with a ring with a lapis lazuli stone. It was set in silver metal and looked old. It was framed in filigree with a small diamond set in the middle. Klaus handed me the spell. I said the words, put the ring on, then they tested it by putting me in a sliver of daylight. When I didn't burn, they knew I was successful.
"Was that your first spell?" Klaus asked.
"It was," I nodded.
"She did it flawlessly," Elijah commented. "Darling you're a natural."
"What a catch," Klaus grinned, Elijah eyed him in warning.
"Oh come on, brother, I"m not going to try to steal her away from you," Klaus chuckled.
"Chill you two," I said, rolling my eyes at them.
The days passed by, and more things happened trying to take out the Originals. Of course they did a damn good job at protecting themselves. Then one day, it was as if Elena's and my lives were , the Mikaelson sister, caused a wreck that caused Elena, who had vampire blood in her system, to turn. Rebekah had no clue.
It seemed no matter how hard I wanted to keep Elena safe, I failed. We both became something our father hated, but for me? It felt like destiny. Elijah and I, eventually decided to leave town. Elijah asked me where I'd like to go.
"Hmm," I thought aloud, "I don't know."
"Where haven't you been or where have you been you'd like to visit again?" he asked.
"I do like South Korea," I said.
"Then let's go there," he smiled.
"Awesome! And don't worry, I speak Korean fluently," I grinned.
"So I've seen," Elijah chuckled.
We were, soon, booked on a flight, with a few layovers, to Seoul. When we finally landed, it was just as amazing as it was last time. I had went ahead and booked us a suite at the best hotel. It was nice.
Elijah and I got settled before we went ourt for a bite to eat. I wanted street food. So, we went out for that, then to a place for bulgogi. I was enjoying the place with Elijah by my side. Having him to myself without any disturbance, not to mention in one of my favorite places in the world, was nice.
"You love it here," Elijah observed.
"The place that's home to my favorite music? Of course."
"So, I see how much you love your music, and when I was in your mind..."
"You want me to sing?" I smiled.
"Yes," he nodded.
"Okay," I smiled and poured into Rose's "On the Ground." Then, I sang Dreamcatcher's "Break The Wall".
"The voice of an angel," Elijah Smirked.
"We'll have to play the piano together sometime, and I'll sing."
"I'd love that," he smiled.
"So, what shall we do while we're here?" I asked.
"You're a vampire now, with the power of compulsion, we can do just about anything your heart desires.
"I could meet my favorite idols," I said in awe.
"You could," he nodded.
"Ah, this is going to be a fun trip!" I said excitedly.
"So, how about we get some rest for now?"
"That's a good idea," I agreed.
The days in Korea passed by beautifully. I had, with Elijah's help, managed to meet most of the idols I stanned. I was having the time of my life. Although I wasn't exactly alive anymore. I was a vampire.
Yes, a vampire that Elijah made sure to keep under control. He kept me fed, and I never killed anyone. Elijah seemed impressed.
"You have impeccable control," he told me one day as I was feeding of a stranger and compelled them, sending them on their way.
"I think I was destined for this," I replied.
"I couldn't agree more," he smiled as he leaned in to kiss me.
"You are amazing, you know that?" I smiled.
"I can say the same about you," he smiled back.
"How are things back home?" I asked.
"Niklaus has taken our mother out of the picture. While the Salvatores and their crew are still trying their best to end him."
I sighed, "My sister okay?"
"As far as I know," he replied.
"That's good at least," I sighed in relief. "How's Klaus."
"Frustrated," Elijah answered.
"Understandably so," I nodded.
