City Morgue
Dr. Julia Ogden didn't know what to feel. She had her head in her hands resting on her desk. Her face expression looked concerning if she wasn't alone in the morgue. Her mind going back to the court hearing she was forced to attend. All of the horrific memories were appeared in her thoughts as she slim through them. The disappointed look on William Murdoch before she was forced to reveal her secret out to the courtroom full of men. Then the horror-struck look appeared on his face when he learned the truth.
Flashback in Court:
Julia Ogden sat at the witness stand staring straightly at William Murchoch with an unyielding look as she spoke "My family took me to several medical doctors around the U.S to get a second opinion and every doctor she seen each of them pronounced it as Mayer –Rokitansky-Kuster Hauser syndrome. She came into this world without a uterus. She can't have babies.
After finding not guilty, she automatically took off from the courtroom, William Murdoch did try to stop her to talk but she couldn't even look at him but rushing pass him and Brackenreid. She saw at the edge of her eyes before disappearing around the corner that the Inspector stopped in front of the Detective (whom looked like he was going to follow her).
Julia lifted her face from her hands as the front door of her Morgue was heard. She quickly wiped her face from any tears and continued working on paperwork in front of her.
"Nice place you got here." Said a familiar younger male voice. Julia stopped immediately knowing quite well who it was.
"Well Well Well looks what the cat drag in, what you are doing here?" she said as she got up and hugged the young man.
"Can a brother visit his oldest sister without a reason?" he said as he let Julia go from their hug.
Julia gave him a stern look. He knows her not going to let his excuse go. He exhaled then pulled an enveloped from his jacket pocket and gave it to her.
"When was the last time you went on holiday?" he asked as he watched his sister looked over at the envelope he given her.
"A few years perhaps, why?" Julia questioned him as she looked up at him.
Before he could explain about his visit and the given envelope, other person footsteps could be heard heading their way.
A few moments later Constable Crabtree appeared in her office. He immediately stopped when he noticed that she wasn't alone.
"What can I do for you Constable?" Julia asked politely noting his presence.
"Detective Murdoch is requesting your presence in his office." He said noticing the quick face expression on Dr. Ogden from happy to quickly gone to stern.
"Please tell him I'll be there in a few minutes." Constable Crabtree nodded and then took an other look at Julia and the younger man before heading back to give Detective Murdoch her answer.
After the Constable left, Julia sighed.
"I'll let you get back doing your job." He said. Julia nodded knowing quite well what Murdoch wanted but she isn't ready to go face him.
"Here's my hotel if you want to come by and chat. I got some news about our darling little sister you properly haven't heard yet." He handed her a piece of paper. Julia smiled as she looked down at the paper.
"I'll come visit when I get the chance." He nodded as the siblings hugged again before the younger man left Julia's office.
Meanwhile at Station House #4
William Murdoch was scared. He might not show it physically but mentally he is terrified of what Julia will say or do after what he forcibly did to her in public. He was warned several times not to continue to press against Issac Tash, and properly ruined Dr. Ogden career in his pursuit for the truth. The truth that most likely ruined any chance of happiness with Julia.
"You're going to wish you had left this alone."
"There a line here you may be sorry you crossed."
William rested his head in his hands worrying about the consequences he will have to face. He was like that when Crabtree appeared at his office doorway.
"Sir, Dr. Ogden agreed to arrive here to meet up with you." He said nervously, wondering to tell him about the young male caller with her when he arrived at the Morgue.
He lifted his head up to look up at George Crabtree with a slight hope on his face. George gulp but had to warn the detective.
"She didn't look too happy about coming up here especially to see you sir." He said. Whatever hope was on the Detective face disappeared after hearing that warning.
"Thank you George" he said politely. He prepared himself for whatever the beautiful pathologist will throw at him. He knew he deserved whatever she can dish out. But he prayed in silence that she doesn't want to do with him anymore. The thought of not seeing her or even working aside her, will kill him both physically and mentally.
A knock on his office door brought him back to focus and he turned to see that certain pathologist standing in his door way.
"You wanted to see me, Detective Murdoch." She said in a stern voice.
"Dr Ogden, Julia I ….just wanted to apology for my behavior toward you and Tash." He said as he watched her expression. Her face was blank.
"You know because of your behavior there still a possible chance that I might still be let go from my job." She said in an irritated tone of voice. She came into the office and sat down at a empty chair in front of his desk.
William nodded his head quietly, letting her continue to speak.
"I just wish you listened to me and just let it go but no you didn't and now all of Toronto will know about my condition." She said fuming.
"If you told me the truth about your secret earlier I won't had to force you in court." He argued back.
Julia looked at William completely shocked of what he just said. She shocked her head in disbelief.
"I thought you were different, I thought you might be the one I wanted to settle down and spend the rest of my life with but now I just don't know." She said looking at a upsetting expression on William's face.
"I'll continue to work as the City Coroner unless things changed. But as for us…there no us anymore. I can't be with somebody I can't trust." She said before getting up and leaving the office and William speechless at his desk.
Inspector Brackenreid watched Julia left the stationhouse before going straight to Murdoch's office to check on the Detective.
"Are you alright Murdoch?" he said as he keeps an eye out on one of his best officers. Murdoch looked like hell.
"You were right sir, I made a huge mistake." He didn't look up at the higher ranking officer.
"Just let this blow over, give her some time, and then earn back the trust she had in you and maybe she'll forgive you someday." Said Thomas Brackenreid.
"You think so?" questioned William looking up at him,
"Coming from experience, yes I do." He said.
Those words cheered William up. He going to fight for Julia Ogden trust again and win back her heart. He straightened his tie. Stood up proudly and left his office to go work on his current case.
