Well, she'd made it. A big night. A milestone to remember in her young vampiric life.

Unfortunately for Juliette Fairmont, all she currently wanted was to be sulking alone in her room curled up in one of her girlfriend's oversized sweatshirts because it was prom night and the only one she had truly wanted to be with tonight was currently who knew where in her Amazonian level want to talk reason into her father about the possibility of hunters and some of the more decent-minded monsters cohabitating.

"This is it folks the last song of the night."

Juliette breathes a low sign of relief at that. Finally, I'm almost free. She cheers inside her head.

That had been Ben's deal.

She'd stay till the last song then he'd drive her home (although even as he'd said it they both knew it would be Juliette behind the wheel at the end of the night and that was if Ben didn't find any tall dark and eligible reason to attempt to keep the night going) and the two friends would curl up on the Fairmont sofa (in Ben's case pass out) watching cartoons and attempting to counter all the alcohol they (Ben) would drink with junk food.

"and so by a rather special request…."

The legacy was already tuning the dj out as she nursed what was left of her drink. Club soda with a few added dashes of donor blood and fruit punch for a little more flavor. Or as Ben had jokingly called it when he'd dropped it off a 'blood soda on the rocks'

Out of the corner of my eye a can already see her best friend grinning with some wild kind of awed glee the same moment the legacy was pondering just why she'd let him talk her into staying for so long when she could have been possibly sharing a pleasant dream with her girlfriend if Cal was even in the right time zone to allow even that small allowance of contact between them.

It hadn't been easy, rebuilding the couple's already delicate romance after what had happened with Theo and even more time for them to realize that despite all the hurt and the pain that when it came down to it, they still cared deeply for and truly did love one another.

The delicate piano tune was still playing overhead as the lights dimmed.

Juliette groaned under her breath.

A slow dance.

"Sorry, Benny boy but I'm officially out." The legacy huffed draining the last few swallows of her drink before she stands to leave. She just hates that given his current position meant that Juliette would have to navigate the dimly lit and filling dance floor to be able to bow out on her friend with some kind of grace than continue her not-so-subtle silking in the darkened corner.

She'd made it not even halfway in her quest before the warmed weight of an arm wrapped with the utmost care around her middle.

"Did my heart love til now?" a warm breath whispered against her ear as she was drawn back against that familiar toned body now standing behind her. "for swear it sight." Juliette was already turning in the half circle of Cal's arm hardly daring to hope let alone breath. 'for I never saw true beauty-" the rest of the whispered quote was swallowed by the hard press of the vampire's lips against her hunter's mouth in a too long denied kiss.

Cal's other hand moves upwards tugging on the lapel of the neatly pressed suit shirt her legacy had picked for the night as if Juliette had any reason to move from her current position. "It's this my stereotype?" the hunter asked in a breathless chuckle as her free hand reaches up to playfully undo the top button on her date's suit shirt.

"I've worn enough dresses to last a long while." Juliette argued in a low growl as she gave her newly returned girlfriend's lower lip a playful bite as her arms wrapped once more around the slightly taller girl's shoulders hugging her closer. "Besides this suite is super comfy, plus more pockets." Her vampire defends with all the annoyance of an upset kitten.

"That wasn't me complaining Jule," Cal soothes nuzzling her forehead to Jules's as they started a slow sway on the spot by way of attempted dancing. "actually, it's taking everything in me not to show you just how much I'm liking you in that suit right this second."

"Really?" her legacy asked in a nervous squeak of a voice.

"Really." Cal agreed her hands now slipped passed the cover of Jules's jacket in an attempt at even more closeness between them as they continued the simple box-stepped attempt at dance as the song was drawing to its close. "Very Kate Bishop, babe."

"well, dammit and here I was going for a more Lena Luthor look." Jules pouted running a hand down her own painstakingly chosen outfit for the evening even when she had no idea that this would be the ending of her night. "Ummm someone's got new marks." Juliette notices with a proud purr in her tone as her fingers skim lightly along the fresh ink markers, she knew for a fact hadn't been there the last time the two had shared a dream.

"You would have been jealous. That last one tried to hit on me." Cal informed her teeth grazing the shell of her legacy's ear as she spoke.

A low hiss slips out before Juliette could even attempt to hold it back. Or maybe it was a reaction to Cal's light tug to the loose braid Jules had done with her hair for the night.

"I wasn't fooled." Cal calmed but going by the uptick in her heart rate she had enjoyed the flash of possessive jealousy more than a little "she was too much like Elinor for me to even think of reciprocating even if I'd wanted to." The hunter goes on with a low shudder at the light grazing scrap of Juliette's blunted nails down the exposed skin of her back in the access allowed by the fit of her dress.

"Just because I know it's 'work related' doesn't mean I have to like it." The vampire in her arms huffed

"I know a very prom-worthy way I can make it up to you." Cal offered

"Finding a place that sells slushes on our way home, getting two different colors when spending the rest of the night blending the colors together?" Jules asked still in that grumpy kitten mew of a tone. Cal chooses to overlook the blatant way her vampire was looking between her lips and her eyes as she asks this.

"We could do that." Cal smiles. "or we could go upstairs and use that keycard I know Ben gave you." Already Juliette can feel her hunter's fingers tracing the edge of the card in question along the inside pocket of her suit jacket.

"Only if I get to be the bigger spoon this time." Juliette counters not needing their bond to know just how worn out her hunter was. Actually, it was a wonder Cal had lasted this long given how tired she felt inside.

"God I was hoping you'd say that." Cal sighed sagging gratefully against her legacy's steadying hold. "but I came to you first." She laments in a partial yawn.

"The others can wait; you need to rest Cal and maybe I'll consider sharing you in the morning." Juliette decides already hooking one of her hunter's arms around her own shoulders

"I love you, Jules."

"I love you too, Cal."
