Disclaimer: I do not own wings of fire.

A/N It's been a while, hasn't it? Sorry I was busy, but I'm posting now!

Queen Aroura was not the most useful dragon in the world, but what she lacked in fire power and strength she made up for with bravery and brains. She was willing to fly acrost Pyrrhia because of a slight chance she might be able to find her father, her real father. Although she couldn't protect herself she still made a fine queen, and her subject seemed happy to be ruled by her.

Unfortunately, being queen was not as grand as it seemed, and it was difficult in these dark times. She'd kept the news quiet for a while now, but it had gotten to the point where the Ice Kingdom needed to know.

When she stepped into the thrown room her council was waiting. She glided to her thrown and took her seat.

"As you know," she started, "there has been several attacks through out Pyrrhia, and we don't know who has been committing them. As far as I know, these attacks have not reached the Ice Kingdome, but I don't doubt they will."

The council didn't seem to react, but she was not surprised. The council, the only dragons who knew of the attacks, knew all of this information.

"The queen of the Sand Kingdom has informed me of a recent attack near the border, and I fear we may be in danger soon. That is why I have decided to make this news public, so that Icewings know of the danger that is inevitably coming."

This got a reaction out of the council.

"Your highness," a young councilwoman said, "are you sure this is the best course of action? I understand that the dragons of the ice Kingdom should know, but these attacks are serious, It could cause chaos if everyone gets scared."

"I know, but it would be wrong to hide this information from the public, especially if killing does begin."

Murmurs ran through the council as they whispered to one another. This seemed to be a normal procedure for them, talk amongst themselves before addressing to the queen.

Today however, she interrupted the mumbles.

"We will need to make preparations for the announcement, as well as possible outcomes. The guard must be notified and strengthen, and those grating entrance at the wall must become more precautious. We will not go on lockdown yet, but we need a tight security."

They spoke again avoiding the queen, but when the room when quiet no one spoke up.

"I take it we are all in agreement, I will begin making necessary adjustment immediately, and announce the news tomorrow."

With those final words the meeting was done, and the nobles made their way out of the throne room. She waited for all the dragon to do exit before following their lead. She walked outside the main doors and looked out at the Kingdom. She knew it would be hard, but she would protect the dragons with her life, it was her job as queen.
