The next day, Norbert and Daggett were taking a relaxing walk through the forest, something they have not done in years. Norbert was still somewhat distraught over what happened with him and Treeflower the day before, and Daggett tries to take his mind off it. As they're walking, they see the animals of the forest on their phones, but these phones look very different from the phones they've been used to. These phones are all flat, have no cord attached to them, and they're all handheld. "Norb, what are all those things everyone's touching?" Daggett asks his brother for understanding. "Well Daggy-o-plasty, those are called smartphones. I heard about them last night and they're very strange." Norbert answered his brother.
Norbert and Daggett start walking home and enter their dam. However, as soon as they turn on the lights, all of their friends then jump out saying "Welcome Back Norb and Dag!" energetically, as this is a surprise Welcome Back Party that their friends made for them. "Well I do like surprises, but we do just have one question…" Norbert says quietly and calmly before he and his brother shout "WHAT THE SPOOT IS GOING ON HERE?!"
A green blur suddenly bolts over to them, that green bolt being Bing. "Oh hey guys, glad you made it! We decided to throw you a welcome home party to honor you guys being undead!" Bing exclaims in his usual energetic and spazzy tone of voice. "Dead? Did you guys all think we were dead?" Norbert asks in a concerned tone. "Well you guys were gone for so long, we all thought you were dead, but now you're back!" Barry says in his usual calm and deep voice.
"Look, we even invited Treeflower!" Bing tells Norbert, who then shows Treeflower getting her hair done nicely again and drinking fruit punch. Norbert is instantly awestruck for her, but also nervous at the same time. He walks over to her trembling a bit, which Treeflower notices and turns around to see him. "Hi Norby!" Treeflower said in her usual calm and beautiful voice, thus making little hearts appear around Norbert's head. "H-hi, Treeflower." Norbert stammered.
"Listen, I'm sorry about what happened yesterday. I didn't mean to run away like that." Treeflower apologizes to Norbert. "I-it's okay Treeflower. I understand. In fact, there's something I've been wanting to tell you for many years too." Norbert empathized with her. "You do? What is it?" she asks Norbert.
Just then, Norbert starts sweating and shaking nervously while stammering "Um…uh…em…err…" he quaked, trying to confess his feelings to her as well, but failing. "Come on, Norby you can tell me." Treeflower comforted Norb lovingly. "I…um…I need to go to the bathroom real quick. Come on Dag, let's go." Norbert shuddered to his brother before grabbing his hand and running with him to the bathroom. "Daggett, what am I gonna do?!" Norbert whispers to his brother in the bathroom trying not to let Treeflower or anybody else hear them. "I can't do the same thing she did to me! Otherwise she'll just reject me and probably go back to…Truckee" he quivers to his brother before getting slapped by him. "Knock off that talk, brother! She's not gonna reject you!" Daggett insisted. "How do you know?" Norb asks his brother worriedly. "Don't you fret about a thing, Norbert. The love doctor is in the house!" Daggett proclaims as a large neon sign that's just an arrow with the words "Love Doctor" pointed at Daggett.
As Norbert sees this, he starts laughing hysterically. "Thanks Dag but-" Norbert says before being cut off by Daggett saying "Ahem!" and points at the sign while raising his monobrow. Norbert sighs at this before continuing his sentence with, "Thanks 'Love Doctor' but I think I can handle this by myself." Norbert claims as he walks out of the bathroom to try to talk to Treeflower again. Two minutes later, he comes back sweating again and says "Okay so I might not be able to do this myself." in a shaky voice. "I told you! Now just relax yourself and let the Love Doctor do all the heavy lifting for you!" Daggett convinces his brother. "This can only turn out so well." Norbert sarcastically remarks at his brother.
The next day, Norbert and Daggett are standing outside Treeflower's dam, which is a more girly looking version of their dam. Norbert is standing outside the door holding a bunch of marigolds. "Listen Dag, I-" Norbert tries to say before being cut off my Daggett again saying "Ahem!" and him sighing again before finishing his sentence with "Love Doctor. I don't know if this will work."
"You wanted my help, so this is me helping you. Now listen, according to this book, girls love flowers, so all you have to do is just give her the flowers." Daggett says as he pulls out a book called 100 Love Tips for Dummies. "Okay but why marigolds?" Norbert questions. "Because they have Gold in the name, and girls love gold, everyone knows that." Daggett responded to his brother. "Okay, but how am I supposed to speak to her without sounding like one of dad's records?" Norbert asks his brother. "Fear not big brother!" Daggett exclaims as he shoves an earpiece into Norbert's ear before continuing with "I'll talk in this microphone, and you just have to mouth out the words. Now go get her!" He preaches to him.
"I can't believe the fate of my love life is in the hands of a dum dum and a book. Ho man, I should write that down." Norbert laughs to himself. "I heard that!" Daggett says through the microphone. Norbert nervously walks up and knocks on Treeflower's door, Treeflower answers the door. "Hi Norby! It's nice to see you!" she says to Norbert before questioning "What brings you here?"
"We never got to talk much at the party yesterday, so I figured I would come and see you" Daggett says as Norbert mouths the words. "You okay Norby? You sound a lot like Daggett." she questions him. "Um…I have a bit of a cold, it's no big deal, I brought you these." Daggett says while Norb mouths the words and brings out the marigolds. "Oh Norby, these are wonderful! What kind of flowers are these?" she asked him as she took the flowers. "Marigolds." Daggett responds with.
A shocked look appears on Treeflower's face as her eyes begin to water and snot begins to come out of her nose. "D-did you say marigolds?" Treeflower asks as she gets more and more allergic by the minute. "Yes, do you love them?" Norbert asks through Daggett's voice. "But, I'm allergic to Marigolds." she says as she starts sneezing. "But I thought you love Marigolds" Daggett replied. "Norby, my favorite flowers are Lilies, Roses, Petunias and Daisies, you have to leave before I…I…I.." she says before letting out a violent sneeze, sending Norb and Dag flying miles away.
Moments later, Norbert and Daggett arrive back at her dam. "Okay, so the flowers didn't work, but don't worry, I have another plan!" Daggett says to Norbert. "Oh joy, I can't wait to hear this" Norb sarcastically remarks to his brother. "You're mocking me, aren't you?" Daggett accuses his brother. "Oh no I would never. Tell me love doctor, what is your next brilliant idea" Norbert snarks to his brother. "That's more like it." Daggett says as Norbert rolls his eyes.
"The next step is candy, I know for a fact that girls love candy, so here. Give her these and she will be all over you." Daggett advises his brother while giving him a heart shaped box of chocolate covered peanuts. Norbert again knocks on Teeflower's door, and she answers while she's holding a cup of tea. "Hi Norby! I'm sorry I sneezed all over you like that." she apologizes to Norbert before asking "What's with the candy?"
"I just felt sorry for giving you those Marigolds, so I got you these." Daggett says through Norbert as she hands him the candy. She starts eating it happily and says, "Wow, these are good! What candy is this?" Daggett responds through his brother with "Chocolate covered peanuts."
Another shocked look appears on Treeflower's face as hives appear on her face and her head starts to swell up, she then speaks in a high pitched voice, "Norby, I'm allergic to peanuts!" Daggett asks her through Norbert, "Why do you sound like one of those singing chipmunks?" Treeflower responds with, "After I get hives, my voice becomes high, and my head swells up to the size of a blimp." before her head inflates and she floats away. Norbert angrily throws the earpiece on the floor and stomps on it before walking home angrily. Daggett follows him while asking "How was I supposed to know she was allergic to peanuts?"
"Oh gee what was your first clue, the hives, the high squeaky voice or the fact that oh let me see…HER HEAD TURNED INTO THE HINDENBURG!" Norbert shouts at his brother. "I'm starting to think that you're getting just a teensy upset, but look we got a lot more…." Daggett says before being cut off by Norbert yelling "NO, no more love tips and no more advice from Doctor Dum Dum!"
"Oh please Norb let me help you, I know I messed up a couple times, but I know I can get her to fall in love with you!" Daggett says as he gets down on his knees while begging, "Let me help you oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please!" After getting even more annoyed, Norbert replies with "ALRIGHT! YOU CAN HELP!" Daggett says "YES, the Love…." before being cut off by his brother again who grabs his nose very tightly. "If you call yourself that one more time, I am going to smash your face in so hard you're gonna need a real doctor! GOT IT!?" Norbert angrily threatens his brother before getting responded "Got it." by Daggett.
A montage of other failed attempts occurs from a romantic boat ride resulting in Norb and Treeflower going over a waterfall to a romantic picnic that results in both Treeflower and Norb being stunned by bees. Norbert and Daggett return to the dam, Norbert is shown with bandages and a crutch. "Okay look I know things haven't gone well, but don't you worry, we'll try again" Daggett reassures Norbert. "Daggett, let me be perfectly crystal clear, WE'RE NOT GONNA TRY AGAIN!" Norbert screams at his brother. "I don't get it." Daggett responds.
"Of course you don't get it, Dag. I don't expect you to get it! It's over, the ship has sailed and sunk, I'm never going to be able to confess my true feelings to Treeflower!" Norbert fumed at his brother. "Of course you will. Trust the book, Norb." Daggett says as he takes the book out again. "As far as I'm concerned, I TRUST WALL PAINT MORE THAN THAT DUM DUM BOOK!" Norbert thundered as he took the book and smashed Daggett's face in with it before tearing it apart, just like he threatened. "Now if you excuse me, I'm going into my study." Norbert blurted before heading to an elevator and heading down to a secret room.
Norbert turns on the light revealing that his study is actually his room dedicated to Treeflower which was shown in "Tough Love." The room is filled with statues of Treeflower. Hanging on the wall is a picture of Treeflower taken on the day they met under that displayed on a stand is a tambourine and a guitar. Norbert sits in a chair trying to figure out what to do next. "I just don't get it, I had no problem talking to Treeflower before, but now everytime I speak to her I sound like a broken record. What could I be doing wrong?" Norbert says, sounding like William Shatner.
Just then, Daggett comes down into the shrine and sees Norbert sitting. He goes up to him and puts his hand on his brother's shoulder, before having it be forcibly taken off by Norbert who asks Daggett, "Dag, what are you doing here?" Daggett responds with "Listen to me." Before being cut off by Norbert who says, "NO." in a cold hearted manner. "Just listen to me please please please please please please please please please please please!" Daggett begs again before being cut off by Norbert again with, "FINE."
"Instead of listening to a book, listen to your heart, tell Treeflower your true feelings your way." Daggett advises his brother. "How do I know this won't blow up in my face?" Norbert questions. "Because she would much rather appreciate it if you just tell her how you feel. Plus I need to go to the bathroom, so see ya!" Daggett advises as he runs back to the elevator to head to the bathroom. "Listen to my heart? What kind of advice is that? I mean it's not like the answer is gonna be staring me in the face." Norbert says as he looks at the tambourine and guitar. "I never thought I'd say this, and I almost never do, but thank you Daggett." Norbert consoled.
Norbert then presses a button, the center floor then opens up only to have his special piano appear, he then goes to his piano and starts playing a tune. "Woahhhhhhh….My Treeflower, I've loved you since I first laid eyes on you…It's been so long, but know my love is true…" Norbert starts singing as he looks up at the photo of her sadly. "Oh Treeflower, We met that day right by the concert stage…I was enthralled, I wanted your embrace…Oh Treeflower, I love you!" Norbert sings as flashbacks from "Bummer of Love" start playing.
"I cannot say just how I feel to you…'Cause if I do it would destroy our chances…And if we can't even be friends, Then we could not engage in our romances!" Norbert sings as he looks at one of the statues of Treeflower dressed as a hippie before continuing with "Treeflower, Your hippie style is so enlightening…I'm so in love with you it's frightening…Oh Treeflower, I love you!" followed by an instrumental break while Norbert grasps his heart through his chest sadly. "Oh Treeflower, When I see you, my heart's all a flutter…But when I speak to you, I always stutter…Oh Treeflower, I love you!" Norbert sings while still playing the piano.
As he's singing, Treeflower enters the dam and hears him singing, but he doesn't notice. She takes the elevator down to the shrine room, where upon seeing it for the first time, she feels both shocked and very flattered by it. "What if you said you didn't like me anymore? My heart would break and I would cry forever…But now it's time I face my fears, I'm here to tell you, 'cause it's now… or… ne-ver!" Norbert sings as he faces her, thinking he's imagining her. "My Treeflower, I've loved you since I first laid eyes on you…It's been so long, but know my love is true." Norbert sings passionately and a bit louder now. "Oh Treeflower, I love you…I love you…And I…Want to love you forevermore!" Norbert finishes singing as he realizes he wasn't imagining her and she was actually right there the whole time.
"Norby…Is that how you've felt about me this whole time?" Treeflower asks as she starts tearing up a bit. "Um…uh…I…I need to go!" Norbert says as his eyes area is covered in black and he runs to the elevator and then runs out of the dam, extremely embarrassed. After a few minutes of running, Norbert arrives at the hill where he and Treeflower ate the stuffed jalapenos twenty two years prior and watches the moon and stars with an embarrassed and sad look on his face.
Just then, Treeflower walks over to him and sees him sad and decides to sit right next to him. Norbert sees her and starts to scoot away a little bit, too embarrassed but she scoots right back next to him and holds his hand lovingly, as she's about to tell him something. "Before you say anything, I just want to tell you that I wanted to tell you something for a while now, but I didn't know how to do it, so here goes. When we first met, I didn't know how I felt about you, but as we grew closer and closer together I started having these feelings for you, and then when I went to your house to try to talk to you I heard that song you were playing, I knew." Treeflower confesses to Norbert as she kisses him on the cheek.
Norbert then starts to feel something that he hasn't felt before, hearts then appear in his eyes. "I love you." Norbert says as he then gives a look of amazement and happiness. "I can't believe this, I'm finally talking to you without sounding like a broken record, but how?" Norbert asks himself.
"I guess you just needed to hear my true feelings for you , and I love you too, that song you sang was so beautiful. So that's how you've felt about me all this time?" Treeflower asks Norbert lovingly. "I always have." Norbert says as he and Treeflower feel each other's faces. And then, they finally kiss on the lips together, something which has been very long overdue for the last twenty two years they have known each other.
As they're kissing, fireworks start going off behind them forming a heart shape behind them. After two minutes of kissing Treeflower says, "Oh look, fireworks!" as they both notice the fireworks going off. As they watch the fireworks, Treeflower leans her head on Norbert's shoulder and puts her hand on his chest lovingly while Norbert wraps his arm around her body as says, "Very cool."
After a few minutes of watching fireworks, Norbert asks, "So you wanna go have a nice dinner?" Treeflower responds with, "I would love to, Norby! Just as long as Daggett doesn't interrupt us." Norbert asks her, "Wait, what, how did you…. Oh nevermind, let's go." he shrugs off as he holds his arm out for Treeflower for them to go. Treeflower takes it as she giggles and heads off with her new boyfriend.
Daggett sees fireworks in the sky before he closes the door and dusting his hands off. "Another satisfied customer, the Love Doctor has done it again." Daggett says in a satisfied and content tone of voice before hearing a knock at the door. "Yes, can I-" Daggett opens the door and responds before seeing it's Barry, who cracks his knuckles. "Hello Love Doctor, there's something we need to talk about." Barry says as he growls at him.
"Hold that thought." Daggett says as he runs as fast as he can while screaming, but it's no use because Barry is trailing right behind him. "Hey Norbert! Treeflower! WAIT FOR ME!" Daggett screams as Barry continues to chase him. Meanwhile, The moon turns into a heart shape as Daggett is being chased by Barry.
