'Legend of the Snow Dragon'
In one village high up in the 'Tibet of Japan' (Tohoku region) there was a legend...
When fires threatened one village of the Anu People (the Native Japanese descendants),
the village chieftain had prayed... Like his grandfather had taught him... For divine help? Yes.
This was many years ago. One day, the new chieftain would ask for the divine assistance... Again!
###
A young woman, a temple minor priestess of the village, high up in the highest mountains of Japan, spoke:
"Oh, Wise One... A Giant Bird creature approaches... And behind him... a terrible Fire Lizard. A Monster!"
The Chieftain replied: "Are you sure... Is the second one the return of Baradagi-Sanjin... our ancient god?"
The priestess looked quite urgent, and then she cried out: "No, Grandfather... NO!"
###
Rodan had flown to the higher peaks of Japan. He felt safer when he was higher up. Nearer the clouds. Far from... Godzilla!
And the big thunder lizard had followed him. Every time he found a quiet area of forest or hilly country, Godzilla would soon find him.
This new area was the highest that Rodan could see, on any of the islands of Japan. Maybe he should leave Japan... Go to China, or Beyond?
With fast speed, he could evade Godzilla for a while. But not for very long it seemed. Why did Godzilla follow? Maybe he was bored? Who knew.
###
The Chieftain of the Anu Village used some binoculars left behind by some scientists, some years ago. Those men were foolish, but the gift was
useful, as the Chieftain looked down the local mountain slopes and saw the two giant Kaiju in question... the two huge behemoths... Monsters!
"Granddaughter... I shall call on the 'Ancient Helper' of Our People. The one who once saved our village for my grandfather... Long-long ago!"
The Chieftain went into his meditation place, and prayed... And prayed... and prayed. For the return of the Snow Dragon.
