"Pocket Elf, where are you?" Pocket Elf looked up from under the book she was sitting under for shelter. It had been the last few days and she had gotten caught out in the rain on her daily morning walk. She heard Marinette's damp footsteps, squleching through the mud and a line of purple snails. At least they were enjoyed the weather.

"Oh, thank you, my dear!" Pocket Elf said, as Marinette picked her up with her purple book. "I started to think I should make a run for it." With the rain dripping down from above onto the leaves, it was almost like music.

Marinette hurried forward as she saw her best friend, Cat Noir, waiting outside in the rain in his green cloak. His hair was plastered to his face, and he looked like a drowned cat. "Cat! You could have just gone inside!" Marinette told him, opening the door. "I should have thought of that. What were you doing out there anyway?" "I took a walk and got caught in the rain," Pocket Elf told Cat as she wrung out her shirt.

"And what's good on a rainy day is hot chocolate!" Marinette said. Cat's mouth watered. Marinette made the best hot chocolate in the forest. The kitchen soon smelled like sweet chocolate and Marinette handed cups all around. Taking her own book from her shelf, Marinette begin to flip through the pages.

"What's that, Princess?" Cat asked, noticing their were beautiful drawings of dresses and outfits. "Oh," Marinette smiled a light blush lighting up her pretty features, "Just some designs I've played with over the years. Cat?" She suddenly looked up at him. Cat already knew what she was going to ask, and he tried to hide his smile. "Yes, love?" "You wouldn't want to do a few poses, would you?" "Just show me where to stand."

Marinette had fun sketching Cat in various poses and outfits. She got restless though after awhile, and looked out the window to see if the storm had stopped. A thick gray blanket of clouds still covered the sky, but at least it had stopped raining. "We'll be back soon," Marinette said to her pocket elf, and the little elf smiled as she looked up from her book. "Have fun, you two."

The air was cool as they stepped outside, and Marinette could see the changing of the leaves and the grass was starting to turn a bit brown. She felt better as she came to the bridge that lead her to Cat's house, and she turned in surprise when she heard a slasph. "Cat, you goof! What are you doing?" Marinette laughed as she slid her feet into the water. "Catch fish for lunch," Cat said, his tail swishing back and forth. Marinette shrieked as the cold droplets hit her face. "Fish are slippery," she said, when she could talk again. "Are you sure you'll be able to catch one?" Cat started to speak, then stopped. Poucing, he dived into the water. "Get back here you fish!" Cat said, making his way upstream. Marinette smiled and shook her head. Her kitty could be goofy, but very determined!

As she waited for Cat, the sun came back out the grayish water turned back to blue, and the leaves sparkled in the morning sunlight. Dewdrops looking like pearls slowly slid towards the water, making a soft plopping noise once they hit the water's surface. I love living here in the forest, Marinette sighed happily.

She heard Cat coming back, and laughed again when he came around the corner, a fish dangling from his mouth.

Marinette made the fish for lunch, frying up some poatoes in the process. After, as Cat napped and dried off by the fire, Marinette worked more on her drawings. "You'll be a excellent designer one day, Marinette," her pocket elf said, looking over her shoulder. "But only you and Cat see my drawings. I wish I could show them to a real designer," she sighed. "Don't give up hope, my dear. Just as Cat was determined to catch his fish, you are determined to make a difference in this world."

Marinette nodded slowly. Pocket Elf was right. She did like doing things for others and sharing her gifts and talents. Cat purred, wrapped in his warm green cloak Marinette had made for him last Christmas and he loved very much. She remembered the look of surprise then pleasure when he had opened the gift. He had given Marinette a surprise of her own, when he had kissed her cheek as a thank you. She had started to have feelings for him after that magical Christmas night. But she was to shy to say anything, and she liked the way things were.

She could hear the rain drumming on the roof again, making her relaxed and sleepy. "Cat, make room for me on the blanket, would you?" she snuggled down by Cat, wrapping them both in the blanket.

She wondered what it would be like to have a actual cat, not a Cat Boy in black leather. Would she enjoy taking care of it, feeding and cleaning for it? Warm and safe in her best friend's arms, Marinette fell asleep.

The Pocket Elf watched them, knowing Marinette's thoughts for the Pocket Elf had certain magical ablities. Marinette would get the chance to tell Cat how she felt soon, though she wouldn't realize at first.

Also, Marinette would be getting another companion soon, but that was to remain a secret for now, as the Princess and her Cat slept on.
