Issei Pov

The night was quiet, only a couple of muggings here and there. I guess the quiet nights are the good nights because that means no crimes are happening. I collapsed my bow and started going home. I hate going home. The thing I hate the most is sleeping because every time I close my eyes that same memory plays over and over again until my alarm goes off. As I climb through my window, I take off my suit and crash in my bed waiting for sleep to take me.

Issei dream

Those damn black feathers haunt my dreams. I can't escape them no matter how fast I run.

"May your death benefit all beings," rings through my head and the man with the black wings closes in on me with his laughter echoing all around me and then...

Real world

My alarm saved me from having a panic attack. My whole body feels like I'm drenched in sweat. I do my usual routine and start walking to school. That stupid nightmare has me on edge and I can't think straight. Suddenly, I feel something wrap around my arm and go in between something incredibly soft and squishy. I looked to my left and there was Yuuma hugging my arm and I took off my headphones.

"I called out to you like three times," she said with a pouty face which made me blush a little bit.

"S-sorry, I was just in my own head," I stuttered, wait I never stutter.

"Anything you want to talk about?" She asked with a concerned face

"Not really," I answered blandly

By the time I knew it we were both on school grounds and like usual all eyes were on me, but everyone looked really surprised. Then I realized where Yuuma put my arm and then it all made sense. The loner guy walking into school with a pretty girl next to him.

"WHY DOES ISSEI HAVE A BOMBSHELL WITH HIM!" I hear Motohama yell

"IT'S NOT FAIR!" The other half of the perverted duo yelled

For some reason some of the girls had a scowl on their faces while looking at me.

"I have a feeling this is going to be a long day," I say to myself

"What was that darling?" Yuuma asked.

"Nothing. Wait, did you just call me darling?" I asked

"Yep, because you're my boyfriend now," she proclaimed loud enough for a lot of people to hear.

"Well, I should probably get to school too, I'll see you later darling," she said while she planted a kiss on my cheek which caught me by surprise.

As she started to walk away, all Could hear were gasps from all around me before I put my headphones back on.

When I walked into class all the girls started bombarding me with questions like, "Who was that girl you were with?", or "Is she your girlfriend?" all I did was glare at them and that made them all back off. School was boring as usual, but I couldn't really concentrate because I wanted to figure out what to do on my date this weekend especially if things go south, I can't really bring a sword with me on a date, so I'll just have to rely on my hand-to-hand combat. Lunch time came and I just went to the usual tree I sit under. I chose this spot because no one is around but today was a different story. There was a very small girl in my spot. This particular small girl was first year Koneko Toujou, the school mascot. She always had a stoic face which meant she didn't talk much. So, I just sat at the opposite end of the tree and didn't interact with her until I pulled out a bar of chocolate. Her eyes snapped to me really quick. I knew she wanted it, but this was the only thing that I would eat today.

"Here, I don't need it," I said while I handed her the chocolate bar.

I got up to walk back to class when I felt someone tug on my sleeve. She had a piece of the chocolate in her hand, and she handed it to me.

"Thank you," she said while looking down

"Don't mention it," I responded while I patted her head.

Koneko Pov

As Issei walked away the only thing that I felt was the warmth that his hand left on my head. His eyes also felt warm and comforting but there was a bit of pain behind them. I should keep a closer eye on him for now.

Issie Pov

School was over and I was walking home not really paying attention to anything around me and I just listened to my music and before I knew it I was at my front door. I don't know why but I hesitated to open my door, I just stood there looking at my door not wanting to go in. I sigh and finally walk through the door, walk up to my room and fall on my bed. The dreams didn't come tonight for some reason, maybe because I'm too nervous for my date with Yuuma. I get out of bed and do a little work out before I get in the shower. When I was done with my shower, I put my hair up in a bun and realized it was already noon and I had to get to town soon. I put on a pair of jogger pants and a black sweatshirt with a pair of black vans. I headed to town and got here a couple of minutes early. I was just leaning on a rail waiting for Yuuma when a girl in a bat cosplay walked up to me and handed me a flier which I took for some reason. The flier said, 'Your wish will be granted,' which I found odd, what kind of crackpot would take this seriously. When I was focusing on the flier, I felt someone walking towards me.

"Hi Issei!" Yuuma said with excitement in her voice. " Did you wait long?" She asked

"No, I just got here a couple of minutes ago," I responded

"Well then, we should get this date started," she said while pulling me into town

Time skip

The date went by really fast, and I had fun, it's been a while since I've had fun like this. She was holding my hand as we entered the park, and the sun was already going down.

"I had a really nice time with you today, Issei," Yuuma said.

"Yeah, me to," I told her

She stopped in front of the fountain while I walked ahead.

"Issei, would you do something for me?" She asked

"Depends on what it is," I told her

"Will you...die for me?" She asked. That was what I was waiting for, the thing that sent a red flag when the first time I met her. Suddenly there was a weird barrier that went up around the park and I got into a defensive stance.

"What the hell," I whisper to myself

"I will be honest with you Issei, I really did have fun but sadly you have to die," she said while she changed her appearance. Her outfit changed to some weird S&M cosplay, she also got a little taller and her voice changed but that wasn't the last thing. Before my very eyes were the wings that haunt my dreams, those black wings. All I felt in that moment was fear and sadness, but they were replaced by rage and bloodlust.

"Oh, look at how scared you are I just wa-"

"What are you?" I interrupted

"Well, I guess there's no harm in telling you now since you're about to die I see no harm in telling you, I'm what you call a fallen angel, oh and my real name is Raynare," she said.

'So that's what they are, at least now I have a lead, after ten long years this is my first lead' I thought

"Well then, I guess it's time. Goodbye Issei Hyoudou," she said as she started to form a spear looking thing in her hand. I just feel my blood boil as she throws the spear at me, and I was barely able to dodge it and start running right at her as fast as I possibly can.

3rd person Pov

As Issei was running toward Raynare, she could see death in his eyes and Issei was blinded by pure rage. Raynare had a hint of fear course through her body but quickly shook it off before forming another spear in her hand.

"Stay still!" She yelled at the boy, but he was still coming right for her and before she knew it he was right there sending a punch directly into her gut. She grunted in pain but was able to stab him in the stomach with the light spear.

"That's what you get you stupid human," she spat at him before flying away.

Issie Pov

All I felt at that moment was regret, regretting letting my anger cloud my judgment. I fell on my knees, not being able to fight anymore, coughing up blood and trying to get up. All I wanted were answers, but it looks like I might die before I can achieve my goal. All of a sudden, the flier in my pocket started to light up, I tried to get up but fell over in a pool of my own blood. I see a pair of brown shoes walk over to me as I start to get up again because I refuse to die here.

"It seems you need some help," a girly voice said

"What gave it away?" I grunted out sarcastically while I tried to get back up but ultimately failed.

"Well for one you have a hole in your stomach and you're also bleeding out," she said

"I-I-I ne-need t-to find where she w-went," I finally got out

"I'm afraid that the fallen is long gone but I can save you, if you want," she said

I turned my head toward her, and it was the one and only Rias Gremory. I don't know why she was here, hell maybe I was hallucinating. I was blacking out because of the blood loss, and I said one thing.

"Okay," was the last thing I said before I blacked out.

The next thing I knew I was in my room; I jumped out of my bed and ran for the bathroom and puked my guts out.

"Shit," I said to myself, I flushed the toilet and looked at myself in the mirror, I scan my entire upper body for any signs of the stab wound but it was like nothing happened.

"What the fuck," I say not really knowing what happened last night. I looked at the time and realized that it was almost time for school. I get ready in a rush and basically run to school and for some reason I feel faster and stronger, but I also had a serious headache. I made it to school right on time and went directly to my class.

"Mr. Hyoudou," I hear the voice of the one girl I piss off on a daily basis

"Sona, what aspect of my outfit are you going to ridicule today?" I ask sarcastically but as I'm talking to her, she has some weird energy that is coming off of her that feels familiar, but I can put my finger on it.

"You're running late, don't let it happen again 'plus your hair is in your eyes'," she said slash whispered.

"What was that last part?" I ask her while putting my hair in a messy bun.

"Nothing! Just go to class," she said with a hint of red on her cheeks.

I walk into my class, and everybody just looks at me and lucky for me the teacher hasn't shown up yet and I just go straight for my desk and sleep for the entire day.

Time skip

I was leaving school and just started walking until I ended up in the park from last night.

"So, this is where it went down, why the fuck am I not dead?" I asked nobody

"Me and you both would like the answer to that question," a voice said behind me

I wiped around and it was another fallen angel with a trench coat and fedora

"I knew I should have helped Raynare in killing you, oh well looks like you're going to have to die for a second time," he said

"You can try, but I want information before we get started," I told him

"You think you can take me on, HA how pathetic. A lowly devil thinks he's a match for me," the fallen gloated

"Ten years ago, there was a family that the fallen angels attacked, I just want the man that planned it," I asked

"Ten years ago, hmmm, now that you mention it it does sound familiar. I believe Kokabiel was behind that operation," he said

Kokabiel, that's the bastards name

"Well, time to die," before he had time to react, I was on him and beating the crap out of him.

"Damn you!" he yelled, and I kept trying to get to him while he was forming those spears in his hands until one finally connected with my stomach, again. This time it hurt ten times more than last time.

"ARGGHHH," I yelled out in pain

"Now to finish the job," he said but was interrupted by a red light behind me.

"Please leave my servant alone fallen," said an all too familiar voice.

I looked behind me and there she was with two other people, Rias Gremory, Akeno Himejima, and Koneko Toujou. I kept trying to get up but the pain in my stomach hurt so damn much, what a lousy vigilante I am.

"By that hair I assume you are of the house of Gremory?" The fallen angel asked

"Your assumption is correct," she said back

"Well, I would suggest that you keep a closer eye on your servant Ms. Gremory," he said.

"Fuck you," I spat him.

"This one has a mouth on him, well I hope we never meet again," he said before flying away

I tried to get up, but I felt a hand on my back.

"Stay down, you're losing a lot of blood," Rias said to me.

"I... don't need...any help," I said struggling to catch my breath.

"Why are you so stubborn?" She asked.

I tried to get back up and coughed up more blood.

"Ara ara, this one seems to be a bit of trouble,'' said another girly voice that I didn't recognize.

"Hmm," said another voice.

"Indeed, please Issei just let me heal you," Rias said as I started to crawl away.

"I-I d-don't...need...any...hel-" was the last thing I said before blacking out.
