Hello Everybody!
So first off, I am sorry for the delay because many things happened in life. Second, I'm back (yay!). Anyway, I think this is my first story in MLB. I know this chapter may seem short, but I'll write a little longer next time if I have more feedback on my writing. Btw, I also posted on ao3.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!
In the middle of the summer, Marinette has been stressed working with her design ever since she got hired in New York City. She tried hard to determine what exactly her boss wanted with the dress, the colors, the styles, and the details on her physical spreadsheet. She did not know what she wanted to add because she was afraid, she might lose her job.
"Marinette, can I speak to you for a minute?" Her boss called out.
Marinette turned, and answered nervously, "Um, sure." She put her tools down on the table and followed her to the office.
They both took a seat on the opposite sides. Her boss announced her, "Marinette, I have to let you go because I don't see you further in this position."
Marinette's heart dropped, feeling a little anxious because she didn't deserve that, right? "W-What do you mean you let me go? Does that mean I am no longer here?" She asked her worriedly.
"That is correct." She looked at her sadly, "I can't see any potential in you. So I think it may be the best to leave this company."
Marinette looked down on her lap, holding her fists tight she had never had this experience of letting go of this job because she had loved fashion ever since high school. But now, she did not want to let go but unfortunately, she had to go since her boss made that decision. She got up from her seat and then went back to her table, grabbing her stuff with her belongings. Once she finished clearing this up, her boss walked with her to the elevator without saying goodbye to her wonderful colleagues.
Her boss pressed the 'down' button and said with a sad smile, "Thank you so much for working with you. I hope the best of luck in the future."
Marinette smiled at her a little, "Thank you, and thank you so much for hiring me! I really appreciate for letting me experience this great opportunity."
The elevator opened the door so she could walk in, and turn around with her sad face as she pressed the '1' button. The elevator moved down to the lobby as the door opened. She found an empty lounge, sat down as she put her stuff down, took her phone out of her pocket, and texted her best friend, Alya.
Mari: Hey, I just want to give you an update on what happened; I just lost my job. My dream job.
Alya: Oh Sh*t, are you okay? How do you feel right now?
Marinette sighed as her tears were about to come out. Looking up at the ceiling right now, she felt really terrible. She did not know what she wanted to say to her best friend. She looked down at her phone and replied to her.
Mari: I'll talk to you a little later because I need to catch the train right now.
She sighed as she sort of lied to her friend because she was having a bad day, really a bad day. She put away her phone in her purse as she got up, took her stuff, and left the building with crowded people on the sidewalk. She tried to focus on going home, but she couldn't stop thinking about her job when she was on the way to the subway and caught the train luckily.
When she got home around 4 pm, she was completely exhausted and felt sad at the same time, as she took a quick shower and then put on her pajamas. She walked to her bed and lay down on her flat stomach, feeling grouchy. Then she rolled around to her left side, staring at the ceiling with sadness in her eyes. Her eyes were wide as she forgot to text Alya that she was home and probably thought she had gone to sleep already since it was 10 at night in Paris. She ran and grabbed her phone from her purse to see if she had some battery percent left. Luckily there was some left, so she still has time to text her.
Mari: Hey Alya, I'm really sorry for texting you a little late so I'm assuming you have gone to bed.
Alya: That is okay, Mari. I am still up if you want to talk about what is going on with your job.
Marinette hesitated whether she wanted to discuss it with her as she held her head tensely because she knew she was not 100% good with herself. She decided to text her back.
Mari: Actually, let's discuss it when I come home because I'm not ready and want to take the time for myself.
Mari: And I'm sorry for making you stay up all night to wait for me.
Alya: Of course, Marinette! :) You put yourselves first, and you don't need to apologize. I understand what you're going through. So see you soon!
She smiled a little bit and replied to her with a smile and heart emoji.
Mari: Thank you so much, Alya!
She saw Alya send her a heart emoji which made her smile even more. She walked back to her room and sat on her bed. She thought she would be home soon if she wanted to call her parents. However, maybe it wasn't the right time until she would be ready to tell them. But honestly, how would they react if she came back? Sure, they would be so happy to see her, but what about her job loss? What does she want to say? She sighed as she was overthinking everything that was recently happened to her. She buried herself in her pillow and sobbed.
Marinette pondered herself, Sometimes, I wonder what is wrong with me as a person and a worker. Am I a terrible person or maybe I am just so clumsy for not being perfect? I don't know what is going on with me right now.

I know there is grammar most likely because that is my weakness but at the same time, I do want to have fun writing this story. Reading so many MLB stories makes me want to go back to writing and be creative! Honestly, I think there are so many good fanfics these days which makes me dive in more lol.
Anyway, I really hope you enjoyed it because I honestly did my best to be creative and the writing styles and feedback are definitely appreciated!
By the way, before I go, I really want to say thank you so much for leaving me Kudos for both of my stories because I really appreciated you enjoyed them! I plan to do some holiday fanfics (mostly one-shots) so stay tuned!
So I hope everyone has a wonderful day so bye now!
