A light box, or animation desk, is a tool used to review artwork.
Some of the greatest Disney movies of years past were animated on such a tool, going all the way back to the beginning.
Most people know of Walt Disney's enchanted pencil, a writing utensil used to bring any animated character to life, new or old, but few know of the enchanted light box, for you see, the pencil can only do so much—it's animating on top of the light box that really makes the pencil's power shine.
Unfortunately all good things must come to an end…
After Disney passed in 1966, his light box was shipped over to Florida, where he decided he wanted his second park to be. There it stayed until Disney World's opening day in 1971, where it was accidentally broken, due to the foolishness of another.
It would remain broken and thrown into the garbage like so many other things, the man who threw it away had no regard for its significance. It would never reach past the 20th century….
That is, until another summer in the year 2000-something…
