From everything we've gathered from Multiverse of Madness, 838 Wanda is a genuinely happy and caring Wanda who's a single mother and probably hasn't used her powers in awhile since Stark and The Illuminati have taken over things on Earth.
Wanda seems to be completely distanced from them as they hardly acknowledge her and never refer to her in any familiar regard.
But what if this type of Wanda was in the main MCU canon? Let's find out in this story!
Wanda silently watches the battle against The Avengers from one of the castle's many windows, the sounds of conflict muffled to her ears. Hydra was defenseless against Earth's Mightiest Heroes, ants against the anteater as their forces were being taken down left and right.
An enraged Baron Von Strucker aggressively grips her shoulders and forces her to face him, catching the Sokovian completely off guard.
"Stupid girl, why aren't you out there taking down the Avengers!?" He shouts in her face while Wanda flinches back speechless.
A blurry shield strikes Von Strucker in the back of his head, cracking it open as he falls to the floor unconscious as the shield flies back to Captain America himself. Wanda begins to get nervous unsure what to do as the Avenger begins approaching her, looking back down at the unconscious Strucker and a quick glance back outside at the losing battle realizing she needed to make a swift decision.
"I'm sorry!" She tells Cap in a panic before sending a red energy blast to the Captain's head that renders him unconscious to the ground although more gracefully than how Strucker went out earlier.
Wanda hesitantly checks his pulse before taking a sigh of relief and supernaturally gets the heck outta there before Cap wakes up or someone else decides to abruptly enter.
She decides to wander around the castle till she comes across Tony Stark in one of the hidden room and her demeanor changes to a frown, slowly approaching behind him without him realizing it. This was it, the moment their anger towards the billionaire has led to this.
She could do it, he was there and completely unguarded with nobody else around to help him against her. She out stretches her hand towards the back of his head, creating a ball of misty red energy she readies to make a mess outta Stark's head everywhere but she stops in her tracks.
"The truth is...I am Iron Man."
His words ring in the back of his mind as her arm was stiff frozen from Stark as he still was oblivious to the woman behind himself. She thinks back to the things Stark has done in the past decade. He stopped manufacturing those dreadful weapons that killed her parents, plaguing her country in it's longtime war.
He became Iron Man and stopped terrorists who had those same weapons, he even joined forces with those other Avengers to save the planet from an alien invasion to the point he sacrificed his own life to save the city from a nuclear missile.
Stark couldn't undo all the pain and struggle her and her brother had been through all these years but he was trying to amend what his past has done to the world even if he's still an egotist about it. She lowers her arm down from his head, trying not to make any sound but she lets a few tears fall down her face.
Wanda couldn't forgive herself if she killed a innocent man and the same applies to a man on the road of redemption in her eyes. The Avengers weren't her enemy anymore, if anything she should thank them for saving the planet and never used their powers against it.
Tony finally turns around but nobody was there, scratching the back of his neck feeling suddenly confused before shrugging and taking Loki's Scepter away from the room.
"What the hell was that, why did you let him go!?" Pietro shouts at Wanda as the two were alone in the middle of the snowy forest far from the castle, Wanda looking at her brother clearly seeing he's still lost in his blind anger to Stark and the Avengers.
"I won't do this anymore with you Pietro!" She stands up for herself and declares to her brother, taking him aback at his sister's sudden outburst.
"What!?"
"I can't do this Pietro, I won't go out to this world driven by pointless revenge towards these people! I'm gonna do what we were supposed to do years ago and have a better life in America!" She tells him and tries to walk away but Pietro quickly grabs her wrist, firmly holding her in place.
"Let me go Pietro."
"I love you Wanda, you're my sister and I've done nothing but look after you for years but if you think you can just live out this little American fantasy out you're wrong."
"No I'm gonna prove you wrong! All I wanted was to live the happy life we've watched since we were kids and I have the right to go out and search for that! If you can't even see that then I'm afraid this is where we depart." She tells her sorrowfully, tears streaming down her face as she wipes them away and snatches her arm back from his grip.
"Goodbye Pietro." She tearfully bids farewell to her twin brother and walks her way back to the city, Pietro clenching his fists before speeds away the opposite direction with the twins now divided for the first time since they came to Hydra as experiments.
Wanda looks up at the forest sky as she sees the Avengers Quinnjet fly by above, heading out towards her destination to New York City to start her new life as one of the everyday people.
Wanda uses her mental manipulation to use a passing truck driver to take her far as possible away from her deprived home, resting her eyes throughout the remainer of the trip.
She dreams of that woman she saw when she first encountered the strange yellow stone from the Scepter, wondering why she was presented in such a way without further context. Sometimes she wonders if this version of herself will ever appear and just remain an obsure possibility that might never come to light.
Captain America stirs awake realizing he's back in the Quinnjet with Clint laying down nearby injured and the rest of the team unscathed, Natasha walks over to him and asks if he's feeling alright.
"I'm fine Nat, felt like I merely just took a sudden nap on the spot. Everything went well I assume?" Steve asks as he sits upright and runs his neck, Natasha confiming the mission was a success and asks him what happened.
"A young woman just apologized to me before knocking me out with some red misty energy, she seemed genuine about it and guessing she's with the other enhanced individual?"
"Oh yeah, kid's a real show off." Clint groans.
"Aw don't worry about them for now Cap," Tony says as he swivels around from the cockpit to face him. "We should celebrate our success against one of your greatest enemies back at the tower!"
"Stark's right, let's leave the watching to Jarvis for now and just savor the victory." Natasha insists to Steve who reluctantly sighs in agreement, hoping whoever they encountered on the field wouldn't be a massive issue later on.
