Hangover

Gray was sitting on the edge of his bed. He looked at Juvia who was slowly opening her eyes. Right after she opened them, she immediately closed them and put her hand to protect herself from the light. Gray had half-opened the curtains for some light, but was still too aggressive for Juvia, who groaned.

Gray thought about last night at Lucy's book launch. He had never seen Juvia drink so much. It looked like she was trying to compete with Kana. No wonder she had such a hangover. He wondered if she remembered the evening and especially if she remembered what he had said. What was he going to do if she remembered ? Was he ready to confess that he loved her ? He was snapped out of his thoughts when Juvia spoke.

"Juvia has a horrible headache."

He picked up a glass he had put on the nightstand and handed it to her. It was a home remedy he drank whenever he had a hangover. After all, he was a member of Fairy Tail and every celebration was an opportunity to drink and party. Juvia took her hand away from her eyes.

"Gray-sama ? What are you doing in Juvia's bedroom?"

"You slept in my bedroom," he said.

Julia smiled. If she was not in so much pain, she would have jumped for joy and would have that dreamy look she always had when she imagined their future.

"Don't you imagine anything," Gray smiled. "You were so drunk you couldn't go home. My apartment was closer so I walked you here. Here. Drink this."

"What is that ?"

"A home remedy that will help you feel better."

She sat down with difficulty, took the glass and sniffed the contents. She made a face and after hesitating for a few seconds, she drank the remedy and gave the glass to Gray. She lay back heavily on the bed.

"Juvia hopes she didn't do anything stupid last night."

Gray thought back to when he had stopped her from undressing in front of everyone. But he preferred not to tell her. She felt bad enough as it was. But he could not get a question out of his head and he had to know.

"You don't remember anything ?"

Juvia thought about it.

"Nothing at all, my mind has gone blank. Why ? Did something happen ?"

Gray did not know if he should be disappointed or relieved that she did not remember anything.

"Nothing happened, don't worry. I'll let you rest."

Juvia nodded and Gray walked out of the bedroom. Maybe it was better that she did not remember what he had say. He was going to wait a little longer and when he was worthy of her and her love, he could finally tell her that he loved her.
