My dad came in and said, in possibly the most serious tone I've ever heard from him "Son, it's time we had a talk."
The sheer intensity of his eyes silenced my normal sarcasm. I nodded, and sat down.
"As you know, humanity has been at war with the grimm for all of known history. Our ancestors discovered dust and aura. And they used it to fend off the darkness. I have a question for you, Erebus, have you ever seen someone with silver eyes?"
I thought about it, I had seen everyone in town, and nobody had silver eyes. I didn't get what was the big deal about them, but the only one I could think of was... Me
"Just me, I think. What's so special about silver eyes.?"
"Do you remember that time you asked why I didn't use Destiny?"
I definitely did, and I definitely regretted it.
"The reason, is because it can only be wielded by those with silver eyes. In our family, we have grey eyes, but every generation, one is born with silver."
I'm putting the pieces together, my eyes give me special Sharingan powers or something?
"So I am not allowed to touch Destiny, but today, I am here to train you on how to use aura, Destiny, and your eyes."
So it's finally time.
"Are you ready?" I nodded "For it is through persistence that we achieve righteousness. Through this we become an embodiment of hope and dreams and end the eternal night. Infinite in choice and unbound by fate, I release your soul, and by my shoulder, unbind thee"
As he chanted, glorious golden light radiates from his hand, infusing me with a strength that felt immeasurable as it slowly transformed from gold to silver, forming my own light. And as the glow slowly faded, I felt... stronger.
"Woah" Was all I could say. My dad waited for me to settle down, before silently entering the house, and retrieving a bundled cloth around the spear of my ancestors.
"My time as guardian of Destiny is over, it is yours now." He unrolls it into my hands, and absolutely nothing happens.
"Isn't this supposed to do something-WOAH" Bursting silver light erupts from my eyes, surrounding the spear in it. I watched as it transformed.
A black pole formed, with a crystalline silver spear tip at the end, 3 black spikes surrounded it. The back edge became bladed, and many small decorations, including a lot of moon insignia. And then, finally, a huge silver crescent jutted out of the side. Destiny had transformed into a scythe/spear hybrid.
Both me and my dad stared for a good 3 seconds. Before my dad said "I've only ever seen it happen once before, it's still mesmerizing. Erebus, your clothes!"
I looked down, thinking my clothes exploded or something. But no, instead, my casual Jacket and pants had been replaced with a true hunters outfit.
I was wearing a silver coat, with a black hood and cloak, along with white gloves eith little cystals in the center.
"Not bad" I said, appreciating the billowing cloak, it also had wing designs on it.
I raised my hand, and my weapon flew into it.
"What do you want to name it?"
"What?" I asked, confused
"What do you want to name your weapon?"
"I thought it was called Destiny?"
"Thats the name we call it when it doesn't have an owner, because thats what the original owner named it.
I thought, and eventually, I came up with something fitting.
"Eclipse's Fall"
