A/N: Thank you so much for the reviews, it truly makes me happy to read them! I love to hear you like my idea! As for typos and spelling, I'm so very sorry. As I have no beta and I'm no native speaker, I try my very best. I hope it gets better in the next few chapters!

Chapter 7
Bella POV
When we knocked at the McCarty's door, a beautiful woman opened the door. Her smile was captivating, it not only let me see her kind heart, but I instantly took a liking to her. "Oh, it is so wonderful you all were able to join us tonight" the woman said, gesturing for us to enter her home.
As we entered, I saw the other family members standing in the hallway, ready to greet us. My father stepped forward, taking her hand in his and kissing her knuckles. "Mrs. McCarty, it is a pleasure to meet you. I would like to thank you for inviting my family into your home. My name is Jason, and these are my wife Elisa and my children Isabelle and Louis" He gestured to all of us in time when he mentioned our names.
"Jason, Elisa, Isabelle, Louis. It is so nice to make your acquaintance. But please, only call me Mary. I understand you already met my husband George and my son Emmett. These are my youngest children, William and Helen". She copied my father's moves when gesturing to her family, then added "Please, hand your coats to Emmett and William, as they will store them for you. Dinner will be ready in 20 minutes, so there is enough time for all of us to get to know each other better".
I started to slip out of my coat when I felt a light touch at my shoulders. When I looked around, Emmett had moved to stand behind me to help me out of my coat. He smiled at me tentatively, sliding my coat off my shoulders. When he was done, I turned around, smiling back at him.
"Good evening, Emmett" I greeted him, feeling a little bit bolder wearing my beautiful dress than a few hours ago. "Good evening, Belle. You look especially beautiful tonight, even more so than when I last saw you" he stated calmly, taking my right hand and kissing my knuckles, once again lingering when his lips met my skin.
The statement took me by surprise, and I blushed beet red at his compliment. "Thank you, you don't look so bad yourself" I retorted, trying to sound nonchalant. I didn't even had to exaggerate, as he looked incredibly handsome. He wore simple black trousers and a crisp shirt with the arms rolled up to his muscles would be on perfect display. The first two buttons of his shirt were undone, which did wonders for my imagination.
He just smiled at me in answer, stored my coat away and offered me his arm to escort my to the dining room. Just then I noticed we were the only ones left in the hallway, which startled me a little. I quickly took his arm and followed him to the dining room, where he quickly grabbed two dinks and handed me one.
I was thankful I had something to occupy my hands, otherwise I probably would never have let go of his strong arm. I thanked him and tried to follow the conversations of the others in the room. Only a few minutes later Mrs. McCarty came into the room carrying two plated, which was the cue that dinner was ready and about to be served.
We all sat at the table eating the delicious food, complimenting the lady of the house on her cooking skills. She waved all compliments off, but I could feel how happy she was that her house was full of light and everyone was enjoying themselves.
Halfway through the dinner, I started a conversation with Helen, Emmett's sister. Though she was a few years younger than me, she was very nice and we talked a lot about sewing, as she really liked my dress and wanted to try to make something similar when she was good enough. I thought it a great idea, as I assured her the style of dress would look fabulous on her. She smiled at me in gratitude and out of the corner of my eye I could see Emmett smiling at me as well.
After everyone has finished eating my and mother and I helped clean the dishes, the two women started a conversation regarding cooking. I escaped the kitchen as quickly as possible as I hated such conversations, when I ran into a wall of a man. He caught me before I could stumble and smiled down at me. "Belle, have you read my mind? Just as I'm about to look for you, you quite literally run into me". I couldn't hide neither my blush nor my smile.
"Please Belle, would you accompany me for a little bit to the living room, I really would love to get the opportunity to speak to you some more and get to know you better" Emmett asked and I happily obliged. "Sure, Emmett. It would be my pleasure". As we walked down the hallway and into the family's living room I mused what Emmet would want to talk about and I got a little nervous. I wasn't anxious to be alone with him, I was more concerned about losing my ability to form coherent words and sentences.
Once we arrived in the living room, Emmett went straight for the huge sofa. He plopped down and gestured for me to take a seat opposite him. I adjusted myself on the comfortable cushion and looked at Emmett quizzically. He smiled, seemingly waiting for me to get comfortable.
"Belle, I have to apologizing for stealing you away like this. I just have the feeling we would never get to talk when we stayed in the dining room. My sister has taken I liking to you instantly and as I see it, she would have monopolized all of your time tonight". He smiled sheepishly at me while admitting this. "Emmett, that is no problem at all. I wanted to talk to you, too. I get the feeling we never get to talk as there is always someone around demanding our attention" I admitted, blushing as I registered what I just said. I averted my eyes, embarrassed about admitting this to Emmett.
He tentatively reached for my face with both hands, lifting my gaze to his. "To be honest that was the reason I wanted to talk to you. I really want to get to know you better, but there just doesn't seem to be a good opportunity to talk in private". He smiled brightly, showing the dimples that I liked so much. He brushed his thumbs over my cheeks once before lowering his hands, just to grab mine and holding them. I shivered at his gesture, happy at the opportunity to speak to him and enjoy his touch.
We sat like this, talking for a long while. When we noticed sounds coming from the hallway, Emmett suddenly got nervous. I tried to assure him by rubbing his hands with my thumb, not understanding his sudden shift in mood. He looked up at my uncertainly, searching my eyes. A few moments no one spoke.
He must have found what he searched for as he took a deep breath and began to speak again. "Belle, I know we just only met a week ago, but I really like you. I enjoy your company greatly and really liked to talk to you tonight. Although, I would love to get the chance to get to know you even better". My breath hitched ad he took another breath to steady himself. "Belle, would you accompany me to dinner sometime this week?" He asked at last, his gaze not leaving mine for a second.
My thoughts were running in quick circles, and after a second that felt like an eternity, I understood he asked me out on a date. Emmett McCarty wanted to go on a date with me! I smiled in happiness, but when I recognized the confused look on his face, I noticed that I haven't given him an answer yet.
"Emmett, I really would love to go out to dinner with you!" I nearly shouted, the smile never leaving my face. With my answer, a huge grin crept onto his face and he swept me up in his arms, standing up with me and hugging me closely. "Belle, thank you! I wanted to ask you since I first met you, to be honest" he looked sheepish, setting me back down and quickly continuing. "How about tomorrow, if that isn't to early?". "Yes, tomorrow would be great, I'm already looking forward to it".
Just at that moment my mother entered the room. "Belle, I hope I'm not interrupting anything here? Sweety, we are leaving, please come along". She looked at my apologetic, but I was so happy I could only smile back at her. "Sure, Mama, I'm coming!"
Back in the hallway, Emmett grabbed my coat and helped me put it on. We all said our goodbyes, my mother promising she would invite them once we were fully settled. When we left, Emmett once again kissed my knuckled, stating he would pick me up at seven tomorrow. My grin widened and I stepped out the door, heading back home to go to sleep for the night, knowing I would dream of Emmett and our date tomorrow.
