Georgie dropped Mary, Sheldon, and Amy at Missy's apartment after taking Meemaw home for the evening once they took care of what they needed at the hospital. Despite Pastor Jeff's offer to join them to tell Levi and Theo about their mother, the group decided it would be best if it were only family there. "Should I come in or do you want me to go back to stay with Meemaw?" the driver asked Mary before getting out of his truck.

"Go back to Meemaw's," he was instructed. "I'll stay here tonight. Make sure Meemaw gets something for dinner, even if she says she isn't hungry. Tell her I'll call after we tell the boys and have things settled here." Mary showed Sheldon and Amy to Missy's apartment, "You can put your suitcases in Missy's room for now. I'll get the boys from next door."

Standing in the middle of his sister's living room, Amy noticed the tears silently rolling down Sheldon's cheeks. "Hey," she wrapped her arms around him, "we'll figure this out. But the boys are going to know something's up if you're crying the second they walk in the door."

"You're right. I can't be crying when they get here. I need a minute," suddenly the door opened and Sheldon rushed in the opposite direction, presumably towards the restroom for a minute to gather his composure.

"Uncle Sheldon!" small voices filled the apartment with excitement. "Hi, Aunt Amy!" Levi greeted the neurobiologist when he saw her near the kitchen. "Gramma said Uncle Sheldon is here?"

Amy nodded, "Yep, he had to use the restroom. He'll be out in a minute. I'm so excited to see you!" She knelt in front of the six-year-old, opening her arms, inviting him for a hug.

Mid-hug, the door behind her opened, "Hello, Levi." Amy dropped her arms to allow the boy to rush to his uncle. Sheldon lifted him into a hug. "How's school?"

"Where's mommy?" The boy ignored his uncle's question after noticing Missy was not in the apartment. Still holding one-year-old Theo on her hip, Mary's breath hitched before she slowly lowered onto the couch. Levi followed his grandmother and little brother, climbing up next to them. "It's okay, gramma."

Sheldon watched his mother pull her grandchildren close. "When mommy fell this morning, she got hurt really bad," Mary's voice cracked more with each word, shaking her head before making eye contact with the couple that had joined them on the couch. "I can't do this."

"It's okay, Mary. I can tell them," offered Amy, taking a moment to think of a way to explain this in a way the young children would understand. "I'm so sorry, but your mommy had to go be with Jesus. She won't be coming home." Amy's explanation only furthered Mary's sobbing and the tears returned to Sheldon's eyes.

"My cat Mr. Snuggles went to be with Jesus and we buried him in gramma's backyard. What's going to happen to mommy?" inquired Levi, watching the adults around him cry.

Offering her grandson a small smile, Mary explained, "She'll be buried in the cemetery next to the church in a few days. You can see her one more time if you want. She'll look like she's sleeping, but she won't wake up."

"No! I want mommy!" he yelled, starting to cry and fight against Mary's hold on him. "I want mommy!"

Mary tried holding onto the boy, but he continued to fight against her. "Let him go," Amy rested her hand on Mary's arm. Sensing her daughter-in-law was right, Mary released her grasp and Levi took off, running towards the bedroom he shared with his brother. The door slammed before Amy spoke again, "He needs space. I just told him his mother is never coming home. I wouldn't be surprised if he hates me forever because I was the one who said it."

"At least this guy isn't angry with us," Mary motioned to Theo, still sitting on her lap. When she kissed the top of his head, the one-year-old clamored to get down.

The adults watched as he pulled toys from the bin in the corner of the room, occupying himself. Sheldon was the one to break the silence, "What do we do now?"

"I guess we wait. Levi and Theo will let us know what they need," Mary didn't take her eyes off her grandson playing by himself.

Bringing the toys he'd been playing with to the adults, Theo handed one to Sheldon. "Snack?" he asked.

Mary started to stand to find something for the boy to eat when Amy stood, lifting the boy to her hip as she turned around. "I'll find him something to eat. Do you think we should see if Levi wants something? He has to be hungry, I'm sure it's been hours since he's had anything to eat."

"Why don't you find Theo something and I'll see if Levi wants anything," suggested Sheldon, watching his wife search his sister's kitchen.

Gently knocking on the closed door at the end of the hallway, Sheldon restrained himself from his usual three knocks ritual. "Levi," he said, slowly opening the door and poking his head in. "Are you hungry? Theo wants to eat and we thought you might, too." Levi rolled over on his bed so his back was facing the door. Sheldon cautiously stepped into the room and stopped near the bed in the corner. Tentatively sitting on the edge of the bed, he rubbed his nephew's back, "I think Aunt Amy is going to order a pizza. Does that sound good?" The six-year-old shrugged his shoulders while clutching the stuffed animal in his arms tighter.

Sheldon sat in silence, rubbing Levi's back, reminding him that he was not alone. Suddenly, Levi sat up to be facing his uncle and wrapped his arms around Sheldon. That was all it took for the boy's sobbing to begin again until he fell asleep, still clinging to his uncle. Sheldon quietly pulled his phone from his pocket, texting Amy that he and Levi wouldn't be joining her, Mary, and Theo for pizza.

He wasn't sure how long it had been, but he was quietly crying and holding his nephew when Amy carried a sleeping Theo in. She quickly changed his diaper and found a pair of pajamas for him before laying him in the crib next to the bed Sheldon was on. "Why don't you come back to the living room? It looks like they're out for the night. Your mom is going to take Missy's room for tonight. It probably isn't very comfortable, but we'll have the pullout couch."

"I think I need to stay here tonight," Sheldon gestured towards the sleeping child in his lap.

"Okay. I love you," Amy bent her head to kiss her husband good night. "I'm proud of how well you handled everything today."
