Dear Ruby,
Well, the day finally came… you're officially an aunt to a little girl.
A baby girl we named Susannah, after William's sister.
She's beautiful as you can see from the photograph and very easy going.
She has William's nose, forehead and mannerisms, but my eyes and according to William…my beautiful looks.
He absolutely loves being a daddy to a little girl and very doting and hands-on. He also doesn't mind getting up in the night to feed and change her.
I still can't believe he delivered her safely in a cabin…in the middle of nowhere.
But, I hope one day, you get to Toronto and meet her and also Harry, who is so excited to meet his little sister.
Well, I can go on and on…but have to go and feed her now.
Goodbye for now.
Love your dearest sister Julia
Dear Jules,
So ecstatic, I can't believe I have a niece and everything is well with her, you and William.
I am happy, Harry is excited to be a big brother…I haven't met him, but I bet he'll be a great one.
But please, tell me the story of how my favorite brother in law, helped deliver my beautiful niece…
Hope to hear from you soon.
Love Ruby.
P.S. is the sex still good, despite having a baby?
Dear Ruby,
My goodness, you are just so…well yes, It's still amazing.
But onto the story…well I was at my 37 or 38 week stage of pregnancy and William decided to plan a little getaway for us in Muskoka. We were on the way…but late because he was called to a case, as always.
It was night and I was getting hungry, well the carriage wheel broke, and the driver had no tools on hand. But he offered his cabin for us to stay for the night.
During the night, I began getting contractions, as morning came, they were getting more intense and coming quicker, but the driver still hadn't come back yet.
So, I told William, I would guide him to deliver the baby, and he did wonderfully. I was on the verge of giving up, but he said to keep breathing and push one more time. I gave it all, when I heard the most beautiful sounds…a baby cry.
William got her wrapped quickly and held her up to me, and I had so many emotions, I can't describe it. The carriage driver came back, congratulated us and we decided to head home.
During the ride home William held her in his arms, while I slept and when we got home, he took over, with the unpacking, feeding her and changing her into proper clothing, while I had a shower, put on my nightie and ate dinner.
After, I came into the living room and he was holding her still in his arms, humming her a lullaby…it was the most beautiful view I had ever seen. After all these years, I not only gave William a child, but a little girl.
Anyway, I better finish this letter, before I ramble on. Hope to hear back from you soon.
Love your sister, Julia
Dear Jules,
All I will say is my goodness…what a man William is…not only in bed…but as a new father. The story brought me to tears…its indescribably beautiful.
Love Ruby.
