The twins had decided not to go back to school; however, wanting to earn an income, they made their own joke shop. With the joke shop, they hoped to use their inventions to help the incoming war that has plagued them throughout their years. The rest of Weasley's kids were able to attend Hogwarts. Even though the Weasley family was marked as "blood traitors" by Bellatrix Lestrange herself, Hogwarts was as safe as their kids can be.
The Twins decided to take responsibility for the family. They both felt that they should be the ones to help out around the house while working their day job. One morning, the twins woke up before their mother and made breakfast, granted it was inedible, but it was the thought that counted right?
There were times during the school year when you'd see the twins roaming around delivering the kids' orders of their products Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. George was still blind from the incident at The Burrow and still has nightmares about that night. Though, with many experiments, Fred has invented spectacles that can make George see again. It worked a charm, resulting in even more hijinks which meant nothing but trouble when Hermione would stumble across them during Prefect Patrol.
"Uho, Forge, I think we have ourselves a little problem, don't ya think?" George looked at his brother seriously.
"I dunno, Gred, what do you reckon we should do?" Fred had his thumb against his chin as if he was scheming something.
"I reckon we - "
"And what do you think you're doing?!" Hermione said from behind them, causing them to jump in place.
"Ah! Just the person we were looking for!" Fred grinned.
"Ooooh no you don't, Fred! I've told you both loads of times, you are not scheming and ruining our house points!" Hermione stomped her foot. "You don't even go here!"
"Shh!"
"I will not 'shhh'! You are up to no good and-"
"Actually, we're the only good ones around here these days," George commented.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Hermione asked.
"Just look over there and tell me what you see!" Fred gently placed his hand on her back and dragged her towards the corner where Professor Umbridge is with a scared kid.
"You don't want detention, do you Mr. Creevey?" Professor Umbridge sneered.
Hermione's eyes went wide as she watched an all too familiar scene.
"Come along Mr. Creevey, we don't have all day!" The professor said in her high pitched voice.
Fred glanced at Hermione who looked as though she was angry as well.
"And just what were you planning on doing?" Hermione raised her right eyebrow.
Fred winked at her and then took out what looked like a fire popper. He threw it to land at Umbridge's feet however instead of firecrackers when it exploded spiders jumped out.
"What is the meaning of this!" The toadlike woman yelled as spiders flew down on top of her body and tried to get rid of all the spiders. They kept on crawling all over her.
"Excellent," the twins both said at the same time.
Hermione rushed while Umbridge was screaming in terror as the spiders were crawling over her and quickly grabbed the boy.
Once they were safe, Hermione glanced at Colin, "are you okay?" She whispered.
Colin nodded.
Hermione sighed and saw George smiling sadly. "Can you escort him back to the Gryffindor Tower?"
"Sure thing!" He said too excitedly for his own good.
—
Hermione narrowed her eyes towards George. "Should I be worried about him?" She asked as the two left to the Common Room.
Fred raised his right eyebrow and leaned against the wall. "Nah, all we want is a fair justice system" He paused to look at his own brother. George was absentmindedly messing around with his specs when he got back from taking Colin back from the Gryffindor Tower. "I made those for George because of what Bellatrix did," He rolled his eyes while pointing at his brother.
"Is he adjusting well?"
Fred shrugged his shoulders . "I am sure it just takes some getting used too?"
Hermione sighed wanting to change the subject and leaned against the wall next to him. "Things are getting bad, Fred. And I don't know how much more I can take."
Fred inched towards Hermione and caressed her cheek gently. She leaned into his touch. "George and I are doing everything we can. We may have lost our home from the fiendfyre, but we want to do everything we can here at Hogwarts," he squeezed her shoulder. They were staring into each other eyes, "Hermione, I -"
George stopped fidgeting with his spectacles then said, "All done here, ready to go, Forge?" He grinned as if he was up to no good.
Fred sighed and let go of her shoulder, but Hermione placed her hand on his cheek not bothering to look at his brother.
"You both take care of yourselves, and no more trespassing on Hogwarts grounds. Do you hear me?" Hermione said with a stern voice.
"I don't think that we can agree with you, Hermione," Fred said in a serious tone.

Over the next half a year the twins spend their time at Hogwarts fending for those who couldn't fend for themself.
"Hey! Slytherin!" Fred yelled at the bully who was harassing a kid.
"You two don't even go to school here!" Malfoy raised his right eyebrow as he let go of the student.
"Way to state the obvious Malfoy!" George chuckled.
"What's with the funny-looking glasses, four eyes?" Malfoy laughed as he stared at George.
"Oi! You'll pay for that, Malfoy!" Fred took something out of his pocket and grinned.
"What do you think you're doing?!" Malfoy asked while backing out.
"Just teaching you some manners!" Fred shrugged then sprayed magic paint at Draco.
"Acne build-up? Nice," George grinned.
"Even better, Gred, acne and the hair changed color according to what mood they are in," Fred laughed.
While Malfoy's hair turned red as a tomato, his face turned red with anger.
"Nice one mate!"
And then they were on their way into the secret passages of the school before they could be caught.
