Once, humans and monsters lived in peace and harmony……
Sadly, it did not last, and war broke out, the monsters losing, forced to enter Mount Ebott, living deep underground.
Seven human souls were used to create a barrier to keep them in, seven needed to release them.
The monsters had six, lacking the last one…..
One, who could not be caught, belonging to a human named frisk, was forced into a time loop, unable to break free, slowly losing their mind as a fragment of another soul would steal their body on occasion, a soul named Chara, forcing her body to commit horrific acts against her friends, most who couldn't remember.
Some of their friends they knew could remember the loops, like them a Skeleton. Sans, the Skeleton, knew it wasn't Frisk causing the deaths, he could see another soul in their body.
But this story isn't…only about frisk and chara….no.
A new human fell into the underground. A defender…from an Outer Dimension.

"Kark, kark, kark!" A human screeched as he fell through the air, twisting around as strange, insect like biomechanical creatures cried and swooped about, aiming at the human with their metallic talons. The human twisted around, his right arm bulging, warping as it turned into a bulky, archaic looking energy cannon, clear capacitors along its underside glowing with unstable energy. "Kark off!" He barked, spinning in the air, taking aim and fired, white energy hissing through the air, the recoil of the blast sending him slamming against a wall as he fell.
The shot hit the creature, making it screech as it disintegrated into voxels, while the others hissed and charged forward, slashing at the human, one managing to cut a long gouge on him, making him hiss as he felt the injury, before he kicked it away. A quick blast later, and his arm warped back to normal, while the injury sealed up, making him frown, before his both of his arms warped, this time, though, it was a heavy, mechanical setup, designed for heavy lifting, large, three fingered grappling hook like hands launching out on chains as he smirked.
"Get over here!" He said, jokingly as he yanked two of the four eyed beasts to him, smashing them together, as the others around him chattered angrily, watching their brethren fade away as they were eliminated.
The human twisted around, taking aim, right as a flash of light happened, the creatures all fading away, confusing him before he felt a alert screaming in his head. Spinning in the air, he paled as he saw the ground rapidly approaching. "Oh kark." He said, tired, unable to transform himself fast enough, right as he impacted the ground, hard.

A groan filled the cavern as the human got up, his head pounding as his HUD flickered in his eyes. "Just my luck." He groaned as he stumbled onto his feet.
His hair was a frizzy, fluffy white mess, yellow petals falling out of it, his upper body clothed in what looked like a blue sweater, though a bandolier ran across his front with empty vials, connected to a bag hanging off his back. His pants were a pair of grey cargo pants, pockets bulging with various odds and ends, with a drop pouch attached to his belt.
His boots were metallic in color, and clicked as they moved, revealing to indeed be metal, an unknown alloy, as he surveyed his surroundings. His skin was very, very oddly pale, like he had never seen enough light. His eyes were an odd amber color, slightly glowing in the dark.
"...damn. Not good at all. Gig, do you read? Gig?" The human said, hand on a communications device on the bandoliers shoulder pad. Static was all he got. "Kark. Hit from the Boges got me good and that impact really didn't help." He hissed as he tried to take a step, and the residual pain landed up his spine, making him stumble a little as he moved, one hand reaching back and digging around for something, and pulled out a tin.
Opening it up revealed a MRE packet of unknown origin, though he made a face at the contents. "Mystery meat. Wonderful…. Please don't be Oonri meat…again." He said as he triggered the tins heating plate as he unfolded the lid and reassembled it into a one time use cooker. As he placed the meat onto the mini oven, the lower and upper inner plates heating up as a chemical reaction took place, the meatloaf cooking as he sealed it up, as he turned to the rest of the meager meal. A few dehydrated again, unknown vegetable matter bars, and a bottle of water. He let out a long huff, part of him wishing for Terran MREs, but, well, rebels can't be choosers….. and it was better than nothing, even though these were liberated enemy rations.
He began eating, smiling as he found a very, very small vial, about 30ml of Qorium inside it. "Well…… should probably keep this as a backup. Never know if I, or someone else, will need it." He huffed as he put it into his bag. A moment later, he pulled the meatloaf out of the tin/oven, grabbing the spork and knife that had come with it and began eating, pulling a face at the bitter meat, but kept eating, sitting next to the flower patch, keeping an eye on his surroundings. He could hear something moving around in the shadows, see them flicker and form shapes they really shouldn't be out of the corner of his eyes.
Moments after he finished, and began letting the heat finally dissipate from the tin so he could scrap it, something erupted out of the ground before him.
A flower. With a face. "... I really need to run a test on that meat next time before I eat it." The human said slowly, backing up, eyes not leaving the flower. He was hoping he had just eaten a mild hallucinogenic, not putting it past Gorm to not do quality control on his cannon fodders food…..or even purposefully put it in there in hopes he could cause more chaos amongst his enemies. Wouldn't have been the first time. That, or check the expiration date.
"Well howdy! I'm flowery, the flower!" The strange entity said, looking up at him, it's demeanor friendly, though something about the creature was setting the humans fight or flight instincts off.
"Right….. call me Theta." The human said, clearly leery of the flower, and not giving it his real name. "Theta eh? Wise move." The flower said, sharp teeth forming as it chuckled. "Because down here, it's kill or-" it cut off as it ducked with a yelp, a metal fist where it once was, leaving behind a crater. It popped out of the ground, pellets swirling around it as it scowled at the human. "Hey, no fair! I didn't even-" "all's fair in love and war. And this is war." Game the grim, flat tone as the flower looked at the human….and it froze.
The gaze the human had matched that of Undyne, to a T. Deep inside the flower, it could feel part of itself sinking….this wasn't a weak human….this was a soldier it was fighting. "Well then, let's see how you like THIS!" The flower snarled, sending the pellets forward, racing towards the human. Theta formed a second metal arm and shot it to the ceiling of the cavern and lifted himself up into the air, the other arm grabbing the other side of the cavern, pulling him forward, towards the flower, one arm retracted, the three clawed Grapple opening, spinning like a metal weed Wacker.
The flower yelped again, sending spiked vines at the human, forcing the human to shove the spinning Grapple forward, slowing him down, but eviscerating the vines before he hit them, keeping him alive. Flowery snarled, rising out of the ground as more vines pulled out of the ground. "That's it! Gimme your soul!" He snarled, one of his eyes flickering as the human soul flicked into existence, startling the human, but not enough to give a opening for the flower to exploit.
"What the-?!" The human yelped as his deep, deep crimson heart/soul appeared in front of his chest, which he carefully grabbed before the vines could make contact, the hand holding it switching to flesh and blood as he carefully cradled it. "Surprised? Never seen your soul outside of your body before?" The flower smirked, watching the human like the predator it was, growling as it saw the human scowl up at him, blinking as the heart…shifted, turning into a crimson arm cannon, not unlike a Mega buster. "Huh. Well, that helps." Theta said, with a smirk slowly creeping across his face as flowery paled.
Since when can a human use his SOUL as a Weapon!? The flower rushed forward, aiming at that arm buster, hoping, praying that he could still damage it, rip it off the human, like a double edged sword…… only for the human to pull himself away, using the grappling arm, letting the flower eat a face full of dirt as he spun around, snarling, only to eat a face full of crimson energy, sending him back into the dirt, growling as he towered over the now panting human, pale skin paler then before, though he still stood, popping his neck.
"What's the matter? Not used to using your soul as a weapon? Not used to it being outside your body?" The flower taunted, though inside he was extremely worried. Already, this fight had gone on longer then he had expected, his meager energy levels depleting, despite his bravado.
"Asriel, we need his soul now! We need it to break the barrier! Stop playing with our food before it gets away!" Chara said, ghostly, only seen and heard by Flowery, being a part of the monstrosity, of to the side, the child's eyes crimson as they watched the fight with bloodlust, right as a burst of flame ignited around Flowery, making the flower pale. "NO!" He snarled, charging into the ground, right as the flames made contact, sending searing pain through the flower as he burrowed deep underground.
Above ground, Theta collapsed, with a groan, adrenaline leaving him, his previous injuries that were not healed yet pulsing with worse pain, coupled with the new nicks and scratches from the pellets that had hit him, and the exhaustion from using the Soul Cannon, as he was now calling it, for the first time taking its toll on his body.
Before he passed out, the last thing he saw was a strange, goat like creature catching him, worry and panic dancing across her face, whatever she was saying going unheard as he passed out.
