A SONG OF PAST AND PRESENT
EPISODE 3 - LINEAGE
1. Ext. Streets of Mereen. Evening.
CAPTION:
MEREEN
20 YEARS BEFORE DANY AND ARYA ARRIVE IN OLDTOWN
A young dark skinned man comes running down the street, holding a loaf of bread, that he´s stolen. This is the 16 year old version of Idri, who doesn´t look anything like the rich lord, he will become in later life, in stead looking more like the common thralls, that make up most of the huge city´s population. Three members of the city guard are chasing him, but he uses his fast legs and his knowledge of all of the backstreets, that the city has to offer, in order to evade capture by them. Eventually he gets so far ahead of them, that they decide to give up the chase and focus their energy on catching someone, they can actually catch.
2. Int. Ruined Building. Evening.
The teenage version of Hailea is waiting by the light of a candle for him to return and is at first alerted by the sound of him arriving. She pulls a knife from her belongings and gets ready to defend herself.
Idri (in Valyrian):
It´s only me, Hailea!
He comes in from the dark to join her and they kiss, as two teenagers in love would it.
Hailea (in Valyrian):
You had me worried.
Idri (in Valyrian):
Don´t you know by now, that I always come back to you?
They smile at one another and share of the bread, he´s stolen for them.
Hailea (in Valyrian):
I spoke to the sea captain. He told me that we can leave tomorrow at dusk.
Idri (in Valyrian):
Did he come here?
Hailea (in Valyrian):
No, I went to see him.
Idri looks worried for her.
Idri (in Valyrian):
If the guards catch you ...
Hailea (in Valyrian):
I´ll be executed, I know. I made sure to be careful.
Idri (in Valyrian):
We have to get out of here, before it´s too late. How much does he want for it?
Hailea (in Valyrian):
50 coppers for us each.
Idri shakes his head in frustration.
Idri (in Valyrian):
Where are we going to get that kind of coin from?
Hailea (in Valyrian):
I´ve already taken care of it. I will give him my mother´s necklace.
Idri (in Valyrian):
You shouldn´t have to! It´s my job to take care of you, Hailea.
She looks him in the eyes and gives him a small kiss.
Hailea (in Valyrian):
It´s just a piece of jewelry, Idri. I know that she would much rather see me live, than have me hang onto it at any cost.
He nods in understanding and takes her hands in his.
Idri (in Valyrian):
I will get it back for you some day, I promise.
Hailea (in Valyrian):
All I care about is that we´re together. Nothing else matters to me.
Idri (in Valyrian):
I know, but it´s the only thing you have to remind you of your family´s past. It belongs with you, not with anyone else.
They stare into one another´s eyes, as what they are at this time: Two young lovers, who only need each other to be happy in life.
3. Ext. Ship. Early Morning.
It´s still close to dark, when Idri and Hailea get on board with several others, who are also looking for a better life in Westeros. She hands her necklace over to the ship´s captain, who looks it over and gives them a nod.
Sea Captain (in Valyrian):
It looks old.
Hailea (in Valyrian):
It´s from old Valyria.
The Sea Captain laughs to himself, making them annoyed.
Sea Captain (in Valyrian):
If all of the jewelry I´ve been given actually was from old Valyria, do you think I´d still be doing this dangerous work?
Hailea (in Valyrian):
That one is!
Sea Captain (in Valyrian):
If that´s true, then I say thank you very much! Now get in the hold with the rest of them, before the harbor guards start asking for a bigger bribe.
Idri (in Valyrian):
Hold onto it. Someday, I will find you and buy it back from you.
Sea Captain (in Valyrian):
When will that be? When you´ve become a fancy lord and she´s become your lady? Stop dreaming, boy! Westeros is no better than here, it´s just different.
They get hurried into the hold, where it´s already well filled up with other refugees like them and with the amount who are lined up to get in there with them, it will clearly not be a pleasant trip across the Narrow Sea. The Sea Captain looks the necklace over and wonders to himself, if it could actually be Valyrian or not.
We focus on the necklace and the background fades to:
4. Int. Jewelry Store. Day.
The adult version of Idri, who we´ve already met is holding it and looks glad to have it back in his possession. The Jeweler, an elderly, well dressed and clearly well off man looks at him anxiously.
Jeweler:
If that isn´t it, then I don´t know if we´ll be able to find it for you.
Idri:
It´s it. I´m sure of it.
Jeweler looks relieved.
Jeweler:
It only took us six years, but better late then never, isn´t that what they say?
Idri:
You´ve done well and will be rewarded accordingly. Where´s it been for all these years?
Jeweler:
It´s hard to say, but it somehow ended up on the island of Myr, which was where my trader found it.
Idri:
It doesn´t matter anyway. The only thing that matters, is that it will soon be back around my wife´s neck, where it belongs.
Jeweler:
If you don´t mind me saying so, it´s also quite important to me personally, that you pay me.
Idri:
Paid you shall be. In full.
The jeweler looks very pleased.
5. Int. Ashia´s Room. Day.
Ashia is studying hard, while Dany is doing some cleaning. Ashia is having trouble remembering it all though and sighs to herself.
Dany:
I can move on to the next room, if I´m disturbing you, miss?
Ashia:
No, it´s alright, Danyra. It´s not your fault, that I can´t remember the royal Targaryen line.
Dany smiles at her and stops working.
Dany:
I can try to help you, if I can. I´m not all bad, when it comes to remembering the royal line.
Ashia:
Did they teach you about the royal line in Essos?
Dany:
My brother did. For some reason, he thought it was important for me to know!
Ashia smiles back at her.
Ashia:
I suppose, we can try it.
Dany:
Start at the beginning and we´ll find out which ones you´re having trouble with.
Dany sits down across from her.
Ashia:
First, it´s Aegon the Conqueror. Then it´s Aenys the first, Maegor the Cruel, Jaehaerys the Conciliator, Viserys the First, Aegon the Elder, Aegon the Younger ...
Dany:
Didn´t you leave one out?
Ashia tries to remember.
Dany:
The first ruling Queen of Westeros?
Ashia:
You mean Rhaenyra? The Septas tell us not to count her.
Dany:
Because she´s a woman, I suppose?
Ashia:
I shan´t say. Perhaps it´s because it´s ridiculous, that a woman could rule Westeros.
She smiles at Dany, but Dany doesn´t find it funny.
Dany:
Who´s told you that?
Ashia:
I mean, it is! Look at the only two times it happened and all of the pain and misery, that brought us. First with Cersei Lannister, who blew up the holy sept of Baelor, killing everyone who opposed her and anyone unlucky enough to be within two hundred feet of the sept. The less said about the dragon lady, the better, if you ask me.
Dany tries not to take it personally, what she said.
Dany:
You don´t believe, that she could have been misunderstood and that she actually wanted to make things better for everyone?
Ashia:
If that´s the case, why did she decide to murder all of them then?
Dany:
Well, she did first save everyone in the battle against the Night King ...
Ashia:
Only to go to King´s Landing, where she ruthlessly murdered thousands, even after the city had surrendered. I know my history! She was evil and is as thoroughly reviled, as she deserves to be.
Dany knows that she should give it up, but can´t help wanting to defend herself either.
Dany:
Surely, it´s not everyone, who still hates her.
Ashia:
If it´s not, then it´s close to it. What she did will never be forgiven, no matter how many years pass by. It her that assured, that no woman will ever be accepted as ruler of the six kingdoms again, if you ask me.
Dany looks sadly aware, that Ashia is probably right.
6. Int. Family Room in Idri and Hailea´s House. Evening.
Arya is telling the story of the battle against the Night King to Dany and the family over dinner.
Arya:
At this point, all is looking lost for Arya Stark. The white walkers are all over Winterfell, the army is all but destroyed, but it is then that she remembers, what she has in her possession.
Elia:
The Valyrian dagger?
Arya:
Exactly! Since the Night King was busy with the Three-Eyed Raven, it gave her the chance to launch at him one time and hope, that she would get to stick the dagger deep into his rotten flesh!
Ashia:
Did you have to put it like that, while we´re eating?
Dany:
I apologize for my daughter. Table manners aren´t her strongest suit, I´m afraid.
Hailea:
That´s alright, Danyra.
Elia:
Go on, Aryana. Tell us how the story ends!
Arya:
At first it looked like she was going to fail and the whole world would be doomed, when he caught her by the neck with one hand and held her hanging there, with her feet dangling two feet above the ground. But when she looked into those lifeless dead eyes of his, she knew that she had him and used her weapons training from her time spent learning from the great Syrio Forel in King´s Landing all of those years earlier, to let the dagger drop from one hand into the other. Before she knew it, he was dead, like all of the other undead, that had fought for him only seconds earlier.
Elia:
Yay!
They applaud Arya for her story telling ability.
Elia:
Did her and Gendry live happily ever after?
Arya:
He wanted them to, but she didn´t want to be a lord´s wife.
Ashia:
Why not?
Arya:
Because it would mean, that she couldn´t be who she wanted to be and do what she wanted to do anymore.
Dany:
You don´t think she ever had doubts over, whether she should have said yes to his proposal?
She looks Arya in the eyes and it´s still clearly a soft spot with her.
Arya:
I think that she did for a lot longer afterwards, than she wanted to admit to herself. She truly loved him, perhaps more so, than she was ready to deal with at such a young age. Then he died so suddenly in the next war and it left a hole in her heart, that could never entirely be mended.
Arya and Dany smile sadly at one another.
Idri:
You certainly know everything there is to know about Arya Stark, Aryana!
Hailea:
Your names are very similar too! Is that why you find her so fascinating, perhaps?
Arya:
Could be.
Ashia:
To me, she´s a true unspoken hero!
Elia:
I wish that the Septas would teach us more about girls like her, than about what this dull Lannister Regent after the next did!
It can´t help hitting Dany, how differently history remembers the two of them.
7. Int. Dany and Arya´s Room. Evening.
Dany is lying on their bed, thinking about life, while Arya gets ready for bed.
Arya:
Am I the only one of us, who´s really starting to like that family?
Dany:
No, you´re not. Not by a long way.
Arya:
To hear them call me an unspoken hero! That´s the kind of praise, I can´t get enough of!
She lies down in the bed next to Dany and pulls the covers over herself.
Dany:
Do you know how I´m remembered?
Arya:
Not too kindly, I´m guessing.
Dany:
They think of me as the worst thing that ever happened to them. No one remembers how I freed millions of slaves and how cruel of a ruler Cersei was. She´s the one, they should be telling their children horror stories about, not me.
Arya:
Even if we don´t count King´s Landing, you also had thousands of mostly innocent people crucified and that was before you turned Eastern Westeros into a killing field for the Dothraki. Face it, when it comes to death count, not even Maegor the Cruel came anywhere close to your numbers!
Dany doesn´t like that she´s right, but has grown enough to admit that she is.
Dany:
In my head back then, it never occurred to me, that I could be wrong in what I was doing. The only time I felt any kind of guilt was in the beginning, but after a while I stopped thinking about guilt as a concept. The way I saw it, whatever I did was what was right for me and therefore the world.
Arya has to take a moment to take in what Dany told her and looks her in the eyes.
Arya:
That´s a case of delusion of grandeur, that makes Joffrey´s pale in comparison!
Dany:
Was I really that horrible, Arya?
Arya:
I didn´t know you, so ...
Dany:
What did you think of me, honestly?
Arya:
Honestly. I hated you, even before I´d met you and thought that nothing good would come of you bringing your armies to a Westeros, that I felt had suffered enough.
Dany:
All I did was bring more unwanted suffering to everyone. It would have been better, if I had died at birth, along with my mother. At least then I ...
Arya:
Stop that, right now!
Dany:
What have I done, that hasn´t caused pain and suffering, ever since I was born?
Arya:
The past is the past and we can´t do anything to change it. So what matters is what we do now and this version of you, I ... as hard as it is for me to say, I sort of like. A lot even.
Her nice words bring a smile to Dany´s face.
Dany:
Why? You should still hate me, considering the things I did.
Arya:
Because I can see, that it isn´t who you are now. If you ask me for my humble opinion, I think that coming here, where you get to try what it´s like to just be a member of the masses is the best thing, that could possibly have happened for you. We both know that back in our time, it never would have been possible.
Dany:
I do believe, you could be correct.
Arya:
If I were you, I would consider staying, even after our work here is done. You´d be a lot happier for it, than going back to a time where untold thousands want to see your head on a spike!
Dany considers it and clearly to some extent agrees with Arya.
8. Ext. Storm´s End Harbor. Day.
Cannons are being from a boat unloaded under Gerard and Edward´s supervision. One is almost dropped into the sea, when it´s put crookedly on the loading ramp, but the sailors manage to save it. When they pass by Gerard, he snarl at them.
Gerard:
If you damage it, I´ll have your heads for it! It´s worth twenty of you lot!
Edward:
They look impressive, whatever they are. What are they again?
Gerard:
They call them cannons.
Edward:
Cannons? What a strange name!
Gerard:
I don´t care what they´re called, only what they can do.
Edward:
You really believe, that these things can win the war for us?
Gerard:
I don´t only believe it, dear brother. I know it.
Edward:
I still say that there´s no replacement for a strong cavalry.
Gerard:
One can work with the other, it´s only a matter of finding out how.
Edward still looks a little unsure, but Gerard clearly isn´t.
9. Ext. Field outside of Storm´s End. Day.
Gerard has everyone from the keep, soldiers, cooks and handmaids alike out to a field outside of Storm´s End, where a cannon is set up next to a catapult. Around fifty yards in front of them is set up a small piece of wooden wall, but where there´s only one in front of the catapult, there are four more in front the cannon. Two hundred and fifty yards in front of them are two old and worn horse carriages, one for each of them to hit.
Gerard:
Friends and allies! Whether you have come from near or far, like Jon Tully, who has come all the way from the Riverlands or Mott Arryn, who has come from hills of the Vale to be here today, you are here to behold the birth of a new generation of warfare in Westeros! Lord Arryn, tell me: What is the biggest obstacle one faces, when one wants to take a city?
We cut to Mott Arryn, standing next to Jon Tully (a pair of men both in their 30´s), who looks amused at the question.
Mott:
The city walls, Lord Protector.
Gerard:
Precisely and why is that, Lord Tully?
Jon:
Because we don´t have any weapons that can take them down anymore.
Gerard:
You´re right, but you´re also wrong, because we do now! Everyone behold what I have bought, a new invention that will change the way wars are fought from now on and forever more! A catapult, even the best manned one, will need two shots to take down the carriage, we have put there for it to hit, if it even manages to hit it, that is! The cannon can take down all five of the walls in front of it and the carriage with one shot.
His allies look like they don´t entirely believe him either and Edward, who´s standing next to Tilde, looks a little worried that his brother´s grand demonstration will fail. First the catapult is loaded and it tries to take down the wall, but it misses in the first attempt. It hits it in the second though and even then, only manages to break the top part of the wall. The crew gets to work reloading it as fast as they can.
Gerard:
I think we can all agree that by now, they would already have been over run by the enemy. Can we not, my Lords?
Mott:
It´s safe to say so, yes.
The catapult fires again, this time at the carriage and does manage to just hit it, but it only causes a minor amount of damage.
Gerard:
Hardly impressive, is it?
Jon:
No, it isn´t.
Gerard:
Then let me show you something, that is!
His master at arms supervises as the cannon is carefully loaded with a cannonball and gun powder is poured into a small hole in the top. A fuse is then stuck into the hole.
Mott:
Lord Baratheon, if you don´t mind me asking. What was that powder, they poured into this, what was it you called it?
Gerard:
A cannon and it´s simply called dark powder. It´s what makes the magic happen!
He looks to the master at arms, who nods to him to signify that they´re ready to fire.
Gerard:
EVERYONE, HOLD YOUR EARS!
The two lords look puzzled at his request.
Jon:
Hold our ears!
Mott:
You can´t be serious!
Gerard:
It´s going to be very loud or so I´m told.
They feel a little foolish in doing so, as do Edward and Tilde, but they do it anyway.
Gerard:
Master at Arms, you may fire when ready!
The master at arms lights the fuse himself and quickly covers his ears. A huge boom is heard, when the cannon is fired and a cloud of smoke stands up from it. Most of the people there are shocked too, having never heard anything remotely like it before. Gerard smiles at the results and gets the two lords to follow him, along with his brother and daughter, to see what the damage is. All five of the walls have been blown to pieces, it seems like and practically all that´s left of the carriage is saw dust. Gerard looks delighted at how it went.
Gerard:
With this new weapon, there isn´t a city wall on the entire continent, that we can´t take down the same way! I guarantee you, my friends and family, there is no way, we can lose this war!
His two allies and Tilde look pleased. Edward can´t help looking worried though.
10. Int. Small House. Evening. (flashback)
CAPTION:
OLDTOWN
10 YEARS BEFORE DANY AND ARYA ARRIVE THERE
Idri and Hailea (now ten years older than they were in the first flashback), are having an argument in the much more modest accommodations, they lived in at the time.
Idri (in Valyrian):
I´ll figure out something soon!
Hailea (in Valyrian):
When? In a few days, we´ll be living on the street!
Idri (in Valyrian):
I´ll find a way to pay our landlord. I always have before, haven´t I?
He tries smiling seductively at her, but she´s having none of it this time.
Hailea (in Valyrian):
For ten years since we left Essos, that´s how it´s been. You find a way for us to get by for a few more weeks, before we´re back in the same situation again, only worse than it was before, because you´re running out of ways, Idri. We have a child now and if you can´t provide us with safety, then I´ll have to find someone, who will.
He looks angry at what he´s hearing and shakes his head, as he storms out of there, slamming the door as hard as he can on the way out. She looks concerned for him, but at the same time knows, that they can´t keep going on like this forever.
11. Ext. Street. Evening. (flashback)
Idri is walking the streets to clear his head and to try to come up with a way for them to get enough money to get by for now. It turns out to be a bad move though, as he´s soon targeted by three dirty looking men, who start surrounding him. It makes him scared and he gets into a defensive positive.
Man #1:
What do we have here? One of the seven´s mistakes, out for a walk at a time of night, when he should know better than to come down here.
Idri:
I don´t have anything, you can take from me!
Man #2:
Is that so? We´ll just have to find out about that, won´t we?
Man #3:
If nothing else, we can always enjoy ourselves by kicking all of your teeth out!
They start rushing for him and he prepares himself for the worst, when three magic arrows come flying from out of the darkness, taking out all three of them in one fail swoop, as they fall to the ground dead. A tall and pale faced man dressed all in black with long black hair and a long black cloak to match it, steps out from the shadows and Idri looks afraid of him.
Idri:
Please! I wasn´t lying, I don´t have anything!
The man smiles at him, but it´s in a way, that would make most people uncomfortable. It does so too with Idri.
Dalamar:
What´s your name?
Idri:
It´s Idri, sir! I live with my wife and my young daughter close to here! Please, don´t kill me or there´s no saying, what will happen to them.
Dalamar:
Do you love them?
Idri looks even more scared at being asked that question.
Idri:
Don´t hurt them, I beg of you!
Dalamar:
I´m not someone, who likes having to ask questions twice. Do you love them?
Idri:
Yes, of course I do!
Dalamar:
So much that you would be willing to do anything, to make their lives better?
Idri:
Yes, sir. I´ve been trying to get us out of this place for years ...
Dalamar:
But no one wants to hire someone with your skin color?
Idri nods.
Idri:
Yes, sir. That´s true. Only the employers, who come from where we do and there aren´t nearly enough of them, to keep all of us in work.
Dalamar:
My name is Dalamar. Let us go somewhere and have a chat, Idri. Follow me.
Idri looks like he can barely believe his luck and follows after him.
12. Int. Dalamar´s House. Evening.
Idri is drinking a glass of wine, that he been given by Dalamar, who sits across from him and eyes him in an uncomfortable kind of way.
Dalamar:
I take it, that you came here from Essos, by the sound of your accent?
Idri:
Yes, sir. We fled thanks to the uprisings.
Dalamar:
Don´t lie to me. What was the real reason?
Idri sees that there´s no getting anything past this guy and decides to be honest.
Idri:
My wife had run away from her owners, with my help. I was wanted by the law for helping her.
Dalamar:
That´s nothing to be ashamed of, Idri! I can respect that a lot more than "I stuck my tail between my legs and ran at the first sight of trouble"!
Idri smiles a little to himself.
Idri:
You are too kind, sir. We only did what we had to do, in order to survive.
Dalamar:
You did what you had to do, in order to survive! That´s the kind of man, I´m looking for! Someone who knows what his life and the lives of those he loves the most is worth! Someone, who´s been at the lowest it´s possible to get and will do anything, not to end up back there. Can I trust you with a secret, Idri?
Idri:
Yes, sir. Of course, you can!
He looks very interested in what Dalamar has to say, but Dalamar suddenly looks like he´s having second thoughts.
Dalamar:
Maybe you aren´t the right man for job I have in mind after all.
Idri:
Please! I need money now, or we´ll be out starving on the streets soon! I´ll do anything you ask me of me, anything!
Dalamar:
If I do decide to tell you, what´s said can never be repeated to anyone, not even your wife or daughter. Are we clear on this?
Idri:
I promise, I won´t tell a soul! You have my word on my daughter´s life!
Dalamar smiles slightly to himself.
Dalamar:
I may hold you to that promise someday. Are you prepared to live with that knowledge, or do I need to find someone else?
Idri:
It´s for her, that I´m doing this. I may not be much, but I am a man of my word and when I promise you something, you can be sure that I will live up to that promise.
Dalamar gives him a slight nod and Idri looks pleased.
Dalamar:
A few days ago, a five year old girl arrived here as an unaccompanied orphan from Essos. By noon tomorrow, she will be selling herself off in the market square.
He doesn´t say anymore and Idri looks a little confused.
Idri:
Why is this such a secret?
Dalamar:
Because the girl in question is a Targaryen.
Idri almost starts laughing, but manages to stop himself.
Idri:
I think you must be mistaken, sir.
Dalamar:
If that´s the case, why can´t she be hurt by fire?
Idri looks stumped and now believes in what Dalamar is telling him.
Dalamar:
This girl is special and must be carefully looked after by someone, we can trust, until she comes of age and fulfills her destiny.
He gets three small sacks with gold from a travel chest. He first throws one to Idri.
Dalamar:
Half of that should be more than enough to buy her.
He throws the second sack to Idri.
Dalamar:
That´s to get you a new house and out of the squalor, you must live in now.
Idri smiles widely, as Dalamar throws the last sack to him.
Dalamar:
That´s to keep food on your table, until we start the second phase of the plan, where after you´ll be able to support yourself.
Idri:
Dalamar, I don´t know what to say! I will do everything I can to repay your kindness here tonight, by the grace of the seven, I will!
Dalamar:
This isn´t something I´ve done out of kindness, Idri. If you break your word to me, then I won´t hesitate in holding you to that promise you made regarding your daughter. I don´t need to remind you what you said, do I?
Idri shakes his head and Dalamar looks pleased to have gotten his man.
13. Int. Pleasure House. Evening. (Current Day)
The older Idri is being led by a very scantily dressed woman through the pleasure house, that´s certainly busy on this evening. Idri being a very religious man, tries to not look at any of it, but his curiosity gets the better of him after all. The woman smiles at him.
Woman:
We have dark skinned women here too, you are aware?
Idri:
I´ve always stayed faithful to my wife.
Woman:
An admirable trait, certainly. A rare one too, in my experience.
Idri decides not to say anymore and is led to a back room.
14. Int. Back Room. Evening.
Idri is led into where Dalamar´s messenger Elistan, a young Warlock, is waiting for him. The woman leaves them alone to talk.
Idri:
Elistan. I thought that Dalamar would be coming personally, for something as important as this.
Elistan:
We wishes that he could be, but there were unfortunately pressing matters. You´ll have to make due with me in stead, my Lord.
Idri:
How´s he liking life, now that he rules the Free Cities and the Triarchy unopposed? I would think that for someone like him, even that would get tedious after a while.
Elistan:
No one ever rules completely unopposed, but you are right in that all rebellious elements have been dealt with for now. He sends his best regards to you and your family.
Idri:
How many did he need to have killed, in order for that to be achieved?
Elistan:
As many as were needed, to make certain that no one would dare rise up against him again.
Idri nods in understanding, knowing how merciless Dalamar can be all too well.
Elistan:
Things are moving according to plan, from what I´m told. Is Ashia ready for what awaits her?
Idri:
I haven´t told her the truth yet, if that´s what you´re asking.
Elistan:
Neither should you, until we tell you to. I suppose the big question is, will she do as she´s told, without asking too many questions, like a good puppet ruler should?
Idri:
I´m absolutely certain, that she will. So much, that I´ve bet on my daughter´s life on it.
He tries to look certain that it will all work out, but the thought is still clearly lingering in the back of his head, that he´s made a deal with the devil.
CLOSING CREDITS
THAT´S IT FOR THIS EPISODE! UNFORTUNATELY IT´S NOT "HOUSE OF THE DRAGON" LEVELS OF GOOD, BUT IT´S NOT TOO BAD EITHER, IN MY OWN HUMBLE OPINION. THE OBSERVANT READER WILL HAVE NOTICED, THAT I MADE A CHANGE IN IDRI´S BACKSTORY ALREADY, SINCE HE MENTIONED IN EPISODE ONE, THAT HIS FATHER WAS THE ONE, WHO WAS MADE A LORD, NOT HIM PERSONALLY. THIS WAY WORKS BETTER FOR THE STORY THOUGH, WHICH WAS WHY I MADE THE CHANGE. ANYWAY, THANKS FOR READING AND I HOPE, YOU´RE ENJOYING THE SERIES.
BTW THE ANSWER TO WHO HERMING WAS NAMED AFTER IS HERMANN GORING, THE GERMAN LEADER OF THEIR AIRFORCE KNOWN AS THE LUFTWAFFE DURING WW2.
