They had shown him to his room, though Daemon at first thought it was surely Celestine's. It was spacious, almost overly so. The décor screamed of nobility, with regally designed furniture and ornaments filling the room. He took off his helmet and sat it on the bed, letting out an exhale as he walked over to the mirror, looking at his reflection as it stared back at him.
He soon broke the staring at his reflection and began to take off his armour, though only the top half which left his upper body exposed. As he was about to continue, someone knocked on the door.
"Daemon? It's Celestine. I've brought you a change of clothes." A familiar voice said on the other end.
He crossed the room in a few strides and opened the door. In her arms was a neatly folded pile of sleepwear. She greeted him with a big smile on her face.
He thanked her as he took the clothing from her. "I'm surprised you didn't send a servant to perform such a menial task."
"Well… I was hoping to personally confirm your comfort. Is everything to your liking?"
"Yes." He said. Her eyes glanced down at his exposed upper body and a blush came onto her cheeks as she saw he was quite toned and muscular, not bulky, but his body showed he had done quite a bit of fighting and it's done wonders for his upper body. She also saw multiple faded scars as well as some wounds that hadn't healed properly.
Celestine had to admit, Daemon was quite a handsome man...
"D-Dinner is almost ready." She said, quickly speaking to distract herself. "Would you care to join me? It will be a private affair, as the only other person would be Claudia."
Daemon's stomach spoke for him, a small grumbling resonating from the man.
"Splendid! I'll wait for you to get changed."
Once Daemon was changed into suitable clothing and not his armour, he exited his room and gave Celestine a gesture to lead on. She twirled around, motioning for him to follow. Daemon silently fell into step behind the High Elf, using the opportunity to examine her more closely. Her silky blonde tresses cascaded down her back, ending nearly at her ankles. He was surprised she kept it so long: Such a mass of hair must have weighed heavily, and its length begged the question of how she didn't trip herself with it. Her wide hips peeked out from the sides, as did her breasts. The gods have truly blessed her with such an alluring form.
It was a short walk to Celestine's quarters, though that was to be expected. His forefathers were her personal guards, so it made sense that their rooms were so close. She gently opened the door and ushered him in. He quickly took in his surroundings.
It was not too dissimilar from his own room, just taken up several notches. The space was nearly twice as large as his own quarters, with far more ornaments and royal décor.
"Daemon," a voice called, breaking Daemon from his thoughts. Celestine was sat at a small table with Claudia, who looked at him curiously. The High Elf gestured to an open seat. "Please, take a seat."
He did so, eyes roaming over the small spread of food that awaited him: wine, a cheese platter, and bread, with a few slices of meat. Noticing that both women had already begun to eat, he helped himself to a small portion.
"I'm curious, Daemon..." Celestine said after wiping her mouth with a napkin. "How did you find out you were Dragonborn?"
"I killed a dragon and absorbed its soul." Daemon said, pausing in eating to remember the memory. "The dragon had been attacking a watchtower belonging to the city of Whiterun, a place I came to call home more often than I did other places in Skyrim. The Jarl sent me and several of his men to deal with the dragon. It put up a good fight, but it died in the end. And that's when I learned I was Dragonborn, and it was merely the start of a whole new mess of problems in my life."
"Such as?" Claudia raised an eyebrow.
"I was part of a prophecy, dragons wanted me dead and tried to kill me nearly every day of the week because their leader commanded it. When I finally defeated their leader, it was the first of three times I saved the world." Daemon said, smiling a bit as he remembered. Of all the people and creatures, he's faced, Alduin, Harkon and Miraak were the most challenging.
"Do you miss your home?" Celestine wondered.
Daemon gave a small shake of his head. "Skyrim can do just fine without me."
Dinner passed with the ladies asking more of Daemon's life in Skyrim, his adventures and travels, laughing at some along with the Dragonborn.
The following morning, Daemon woke up due to the sun hitting his face, causing the man to grumble as he sat up in his bed, the covers falling down to his waist and revealing his exposed upper body. He threw the covers off, revealing he was completely naked, and got out of bed, quickly getting his underwear and armour on before leaving the bedroom.
He passed a few servants who scurried to perform their morning duties. One stepped into his path, looking quite nervous as she did so.
"P-Pardon me Sir Daemon, but Her Highness Lucross wishes to see you off personally. She awaits your presence in the throne room."
"I see…" He nodded his thanks and set off. Just as the maid said, Celestine sat patiently on her throne. She visibly brightened at his appearance.
"Good morning, Daemon. I hope you slept well."
"I did." He said with a nod. "The bed was very comfortable."
She smiled. "I'm glad to hear that." She then sighed. "I have need of you, my Dragonborn. Today, I am sending the Black Dogs to assault the Black Citadel."
"The stronghold of the demonic forces?" He asked.
She nodded, closing her eyes. "You will accompany them and may assist in the seizing of the fortress. However, your main objective is Dark Queen Olga Discordia." Her eyes opened, staring deep into his soul. "Capture Olga Discordia and bring her back to Ken, unharmed."
Daemon stared at her, and she stared back. It was silent for a minute or two before Daemon finally spoke. "It will be done."
Celestine sighed with relief and smiled as she stood, walking towards him before holding her hand up to offer him something. He looked to see a shard of crystal, large enough to fill his palm.
He gently took it from her hands. "What does it do?"
"It's a tele-stone," She explained. "This stone will allow us to communicate no matter the distance between us. I wish for you to keep me abreast of your situation as you travel."
Daemon looked the crystal over before nodding and putting it away. It was in that moment she took his hands into hers. She was up close and personal with her new knight, staring intently at him like she was looking past the helmet and looking deep past his eyes and into his very soul. She took his hands into hers as the two simply stand there, hand in hand, feeling something of an intimate connection with one another. The room just had the two of them, no one else here to disturb them.
"Come back to me." She whispered, placing her head against his covered chest much to his surprise.
"Only met one day ago and already you care so much about me." Daemon said jokingly.
Celestine giggled. "I'm intrigued by you, my dear Dragonborn. Now go."
Daemon nodded and released her hands before turning and walking away, Celestine watching him go with a quiet sigh...
And that's it for this chapter everyone.
