Power Rangers: Animarium- Episode 17- A Greater Love

NOTES:

-This story was adapted from a story I wrote almost 10 years ago with the same title.

-Jake is the same age as Cayden in the 2nd half of the story, making him 19.

SUMMARY: Two brothers from Amber Beach are struggling to life after their parents are killed in a car crash. However, they soon get help from those around them.

Chapter 1- The Beginning- March 10, 2006

8 year old Jake Hanson was waiting impatiently in the hospital waiting room with his Aunt Kathryn. They were waiting for the news on the birth of his new baby brother or sister. Jake didn't really care which it was, he had been lonely and had wanted a sibling for the longest time.

Kathryn smiled at the anxious youngster.

"It's okay, Jake. We'll find out soon."

"But why does it take so long?" Jake asked.

Before Kathryn could answer, Jake's father Sam entered the waiting room and took his son into his lap and smiled widely.

"Well, Jake. You have a baby brother!"

Jake's eyes went wide as he hugged his dad. "I'm a big brother now?"

Sam smiled. "Yep."

Kathryn smiled and turned to her brother. "How big?"

"About 10 inches long and 6.2 ounces. And mom and baby are doing fine." He stood up and looked at his son.

"Ready to meet your baby brother?"

Jake smiled. "Yes!"

The group walked down the hallway. Kathryn looked at her nephew, smiling.

He has needed this. Now he won't be alone anymore.

The group finally entered the room. Tanya saw her baby's big brother waiting inside the doorway. She nodded to Sam, who gave Jake a reassuring smile.

"Go ahead. You can go in first."

Jake smiled and slowly walked in. He hopped onto a chair next to the bed and looked at his new baby brother. The infant was only a few hours hold and really tiny. Tanya smiled.

"Jake, meet your baby brother."

Jake fought back tears and looked at the little one for the longest time. Finally, he asked the question he had wanted to ask ever since Sam had come into the waiting room and announced that it was a boy.

"What are you going to name him?"

Tanya smiled. "Well your father and I have been talking about it for a while, and we finally decided on Kasey."

Jake tried the name out. "Kasey... yeah, I like it."

Tanya smiled.

From the doorway, Sam and Kathryn smiled, realizing that a bond had been formed.
