"A Greater Love Part 2- Nobody Touches Him!"

6 Years Later...

Kasey had grown up to be a very handsome young man. He had nice short black hair and was just the right height and weight for his age. He was also super intelligent, but also had learning difficulties. He had been diagnosed with a learning disability. Jake, ever the faithful big brother that he was, helped him with his homework and even tutored him despite having a busy schedule now that he was a freshman in high school.

One day, Kasey was waiting in front of the school for Jake to pick him up. Suddenly, he heard a voice he dreaded.

"Hey there shrimp!"

Kasey shook his head. Oh, man. Not this guy again.

He looked up and saw two big boys coming towards him. One was Devon, the 10 year old school bully. Kasey stood up.

"What do you want, Devon?"

The bigger of the two boys stepped up. "What I always want. To pound your face in!"

"Devon, why don't you go pick on someone your own size?"

Devon smiled. "Because you're a lot more fun!" he punched Kasey in the stomach, sending the smaller kid to the ground.

"Get up, small fry!"

Kasey tried to get up, but then Devon punched him in the face, giving him a black eye. His friend pulled Kasey up and held him. Devon pulled his fist back and got ready to deliver the knockout punch. Then, from out of nowhere, they heard a loud voice.

"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!"

Suddenly from out of nowhere, Jake rushed up and grabbed the bully's fist. Devon looked up at him.

"Why does this matter to you?"

"Because he's my little brother and NOBODY touches him! Understood?"

Devon nodded and nodded to his friend who released Kasey. Jake released the bully's hand.

The two bullies rushed away. Jake screamed after them. "This isn't the end of this!"

Jake knelt down in his little brother. "Are you okay?"

Kasey nodded, obviously shaken. "I think so."

"Come on. Let's go inside and talk to the principal."

The two walked into the principal's office. After a few minutes, the Principal, Mr. Miller, came out.

"Hey guys, come in."

The two brothers followed him into the office. He extended his hand to Jake.

"Jake, good to see you again."

Jake nodded. "Mr. Miller, same to you. I just wish it was under better circumstances."

Mr. Miller nodded.

"Kasey, why don't you start? Tell us what happened."

Kasey told him the whole story about how Devon had actually been picking on him for several weeks, but that this was the first time that he had gotten hurt.

Jake reached over and put his hand on his little brother's shoulder.

"Kasey, why didn't you tell anybody this was going on? We could have stopped it before it got any worse."

Kasey shook his head. "I didn't want Devon to come after me for tattling on him."

Mr. Miller leaned back. "Jake, I think you better call your father and have him come down here. I'll let you go into the hallway."

Jake nodded and left. Mr Miller leaned forward.

"Kasey, telling us what was going on would not have been tattling. Tattling is telling just to be mean. What you did was the right thing to do."

Kasey nodded. A few minutes later, Jake came back into the office.

"Dad will be here soon. Mom's coming too. She's going to take you home."

Mr. Miller nodded. "How soon before they get here?"

"About 15 minutes."

Miller nodded then went into his filing cabinet and pulled out Devon's file and sat it down. He also pulled over a post it note.

"Will you both wait in the lobby for your parents?"

Jake nodded and took Kasey into the lobby.

After a while, Sam and Tanya arrived. Tanya knelt down in front of Kasey.

"Kasey, are you okay, sweetheart?"

Kasey nodded. "Yeah. Thanks to Jake. He jumped in and stopped the bully from knocking me out."

Jake nodded. "Well guys, I think it's time to finish this up."

Sam nodded. Jake led his parents to the principal's office.

Mr. Miller stood up. "Sam, Tanya, it's good to see you again."

Sam nodded. "Yeah, I wish it was under better circumstances."

"Agreed." he turned to Jake. "Jake, I've got your statement, but I want you to stay here for a little bit. Kasey, I'd like you to wait in the office for a little while."

Jake nodded. Over the next few minutes, the group discussed the incident. It was decided that Devon would be suspended from school for the rest of the school year.

Soon, they emerged from the office. Miller shook Sam's hand.

"Thanks for coming." he turned to Kasey. "You hang in there, kid."

Kasey nodded.

After the group got out of the building, Tanya and Sam put Kasey in their car, but then spoke to Jake. Sam smiled wide.

"Jake, I am very proud of you. You stood up for your little brother and as a result, he is safe."

"I just did what any big brother would have done."

Sam and Tanya both hugged their oldest son.
