"A Greater Love Part 8-Finale and Epilogue"

A few weeks later, it was the day before the big conference championship, and Putu and Jake went to the cemetery to once again visit Jake's parents. Jake brought some more flowers.

"Hey mom. Hey dad. Just wanted to stop by and say hi before our big game. You'd be so proud. The team has gone undefeated this whole season. Kasey's been doing so good in school. He's gotten onto the honor roll. He's just so smart. I wish you were here to see it all." he started to fight back tears. Putu sensed it and put his hand on his shoulder.

"Jake, you know they're very proud of you."

Jake nodded. After another few minutes the two boys laid the flowers on the graves and then headed out.

A couple weeks later, it was time for the conference championship game, and the team was in the tunnel waiting to take the field. Jake was holding back his emotions. Putu could once again see his bro.

"They're here, Jake. Right here." he pointed to Jake's heart. Jake smiled. Finally the music they had been waiting for started playing. The announcer said his introduction:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the Amber Beach High School Mavericks!" The team charged the field, with Jake feeling a sense of peace he hadn't felt in almost a year and a half.

Epilogue:

The Amber Beach Mavericks went on to win the state title in their division. The final score was 63-32.

Jake graduated valedictorian and went on to receive a full ride athletic scholarship to UCLA.

Putu returned home, got his student visa, and joined Jake on the UCLA football team where he continues to set records with his kicking ability.

Like his big brother, Kasey graduated first in his class and joined the Amber Beach High School football team. He broke his brother's passing records and became a huge hit. His successes helped show that even people with disabilities can have a huge impact.
