So, here's chapter two, which again is mostly set up, but I do hope you guys enjoy it.
Slayer Compound, New York
Afternoon
"You sure you're alright Will?" Buffy asked as the Scoobies reentered the Compound, Giles and Xander supporting Willow.
"I'll be fine, just need some rest. But I don't have time for that right now, we have more problems to deal with," Willow said as Giles and Xander helped her to a nearby table.
"You said Amy wasn't our only problem anymore. What do you mean?" Xander asked and Willow sighed, running a hand through her hair before answering.
"I stopped the ritual before Amy could rewrite reality, but stopping it mid spell had consequences. I weakened the barriers between dimensions, which pulled people from another world into ours," Willow explained and the other Scoobies stared at her in a mix of horror and disbelief.
"Are you saying you brought a bunch of demons to our world?" Faith asked in disbelief.
"I honestly don't know what they are, but the last thing we need are a bunch of Glories running around New York. Giles, get me a map," Willow told him and the older man walked off in search of one.
"Um, do you even know where to find these guys Will?" Dawn inquired.
"No, but they should have a different dimensional signature than anyone else. That should help me find them," Willow said with certainty.
New York
Same time
On a street corner, Stefan Salvatore looked around, wondering how he got there. Were his humanity on, he would be utterly bewildered and have all sorts of questions. But since it was off, Stefan looked around calmly, absently wondering where Enzo and Bonnie were before deciding it didn't matter.
Walking up to a nearby woman, Stefan stopped her.
"Excuse me, I'm a little lost. Can you tell me where I am?" Stefan inquired.
"You're in downtown New York," the woman said, eying Stefan oddly.
"Of course. But you see I really need some help. And you really want to help me," Stefan said as he looked into her eyes, his pupils dilating as he compelled her.
"I really want to help you. Come on, let's go to my car," the compelled woman said immediately and Stefan smirked.
"Sure," he agreed as he followed the woman.
Elsewhere in New York, Klaus and Elijah Mikaelson looked around a busy street after they appeared on it.
"Where are we? And where's the stake?" Klaus asked as the brothers realized the weapon they had been about to drive into each other's hearts was gone.
"I do not know Niklaus. But it does appear we are not in New Orleans anymore," Elijah noted, seeing some familiar sites. "I think we may be in New York."
"Why would we be in New York?" Klaus snapped, trying not to let his famous temper flare even as he felt the influence of The Hollow trying to make him lash out.
"I do not know. But I sense magic is at work," Elijah mused.
"A witch. They did this," Klaus snarled, his anger peaking.
"But why?" Elijah wondered.
"I don't care why. Every moment we are here puts Hope and everyone else at risk. We must find them and have them send us back so we can finish what we started," Klaus snapped.
"I agree, but we must think. Whoever did this has done so for a reason. We must approach this calmly," Elijah reasoned.
"He's right," Klaus looked over Elijah's shoulder, seeing Cami standing behind his brother. "You need to calm down Klaus. You won't help anyone if you run off halfcocked."
Klaus stared at the illusion, knowing Cami was right. Or at least his subconscious in the form of Cami, brought on by The Hollow. Klaus closed his eyes, taking a calming breath. When he opened his eyes once more, Cami was gone.
"Niklaus?" Elijah called out to his brother, confused by his response.
"You're right. We need to figure out who brought us here and why," Klaus said, staring at the spot where Cami had vanished before turning around and walking off, Elijah trailing behind him, wondering what The Hollow was making his brother see.
Slayer Compound
Not long after
Willow sat at the table, a map of New York in front of her as she chanted, trying to locate the people who were pulled into this world as the rest of the Scoobies watched from a few feet away.
"So, how exactly are we gonna contain these guys? They might be as strong as Glory," Xander pointed out.
"Once she locates them, Willow will set up a magical prison in the basement," Giles said as he took off his glasses. "In the darker days, The Council held vampires and Rogue Slayers here. Willow will merely need to spell the cells below to hold the creatures who were pulled to our world."
"Can Will really do that? We don't know what we're dealing with," Dawn asked uncertainly.
"Red can handle it," Faith said with a shrug.
"Faith is right. I have full confidence in Willow's ability to handle this threat. It will be subduing these new threats that will be the challenge," Giles noted uneasily.
"Should we maybe call in the other Slayers?" Dawn questioned.
"No time, they'd never get here that quickly," Buffy argued.
"Besides, Will just broke up with Kennedy a few weeks ago and I dumped Wood less than a month ago. Don't think we want to bring that drama here," Faith added and Buffy nodded her agreement.
"Its times like this I wish Spike were still around," Xander grumbled.
Xander realized he'd said the words out loud when he saw Buffy tense and three pairs of eyes glare at him. It had been an unspoken rule among the Scoobies to not mention Spike in front of Buffy, as Buffy herself had never mentioned him to them. Willow had theorized that Buffy felt she couldn't express her grief over Spike due to the fact that all of them had made clear how they felt about Spike. So it just became a sort of silent agreement to not talk about him until Buffy did, which had been never.
"Well he's not," Buffy said her voice devoid of emotion as she turned away from Xander. "It's up to us to protect people from whatever Amy's botched spell brought here. So let's stop complaining and do it."
Willow stopped chanting at that moment, opening her eyes and pulled out a pen. The others turned towards her as Willow marked three spots on the map.
"Okay, I found three of them. I didn't see that many pulled through, so there shouldn't be too many more," Willow explained.
"You're sure they're all in New York?" Buffy asked and Willow nodded.
"The ritual didn't get much of a running start before I disrupted it. It was spreading over New York when I interfered, so they'll be somewhere here," Willow explained.
"Okay, I'll be the one to ask the stupid question. How do we find them? I mean, unless they go out on a killing spree, I doubt they'll be easy to find, especially if they look anything like Glory," Xander pointed out.
Willow nodded, walking over to a nearby cabinet and opening it up. The other Scoobies watched bewildered as Willow walked back over, carrying several compasses and crossbows. Placing them on the table, Willow muttered under her breath, waving a hand over the items. The compasses and crossbows glowed briefly before returning to normal.
"The compasses will help you locate our visitors from another world, I spelled them to track otherworldly signals. Shoot them with a bolt from the crossbow and they'll end up in one of the cells downstairs," Willow explained as she handed each of them a compass.
"Willow, this is marvelous," Giles said impressed at Willow's abilities.
"Glad you think so, because you'll have to get up close and personal with whoever these guys are," Willow explained.
"Why do you keep saying 'you' and not 'we'?" Buffy was the first to notice that Willow was not including herself in the group.
"Because I won't be able to go with you. In such short notice, I won't be able to make a lasting prison right now, I have to stay here to maintain it," Willow explained. "And I still need to find the others that came over."
"So us against a potential Glory all on our lonesome. Great," Dawn said dryly.
"I can make the cells so they'll be able to hold even Glory, all you guys have to do is hit them with a crossbow bolt," Willow explained as she glanced down at the crossbows. "It's the best I can do under short notice."
"It's amazing Willow," Buffy assured her best friend, looking down at the map as she picked up a crossbow. "Okay, Dawn, you and I will head for that spot by Central Park. Giles, Xander, you two head for the one in China Town. F, how do you feel about Manhattan?"
"Sounds like fun," Faith smirked as she picked up a crossbow.
"Okay, so we're off to go fight some potential Glories with just the five of us and some magic crossbows. Go team?" Xander joked weakly.
"Go team," Dawn echoed, sounding as enthusiastic as Xander.
"We've faced worse. Now come on, we have work to do," Buffy ordered.
And so, everyone emptied the room, save Willow. But Faith had lingered behind; the others hadn't even noticed she'd stayed.
"You sure you're alright Will?" Faith asked in concern as she noticed how tired Willow seemed and the redhead smiled slightly.
"I'll be alright. I just need some rest. When all this is over, I'm gonna sleep for a week," Willow joked.
"You don't have to pretend, ya know? Not with me," Faith said with surprising softness as she walked over, taking Willow's hand gently.
"I know," Willow said, her eyes softening as she gazed at the Slayer.
In that moment, the two were oblivious to the outside world. Which is why they didn't notice as Dawn walked back in, having noticed Faith hadn't followed them out. Dawn watched in disbelief as Willow placed a hand on the side of Faith's face before pulling the Slayer into a kiss. Dawn watched in shock for a moment before she silently left the room.
After a few moments, Willow broke the kiss, leaning her forehead against Faith's.
"Go be a hero," Willow said softly.
"We both know that's never been my strong suit Red. But I'll try," Faith said with a grin.
Willow laughed before Faith pecked her one more time and walked out of the room. It was time to get to work she mused before heading down into the basement, ready to start preparing the cells.
Next chapter will start to get a bit more exciting, so see you then.
While Willow/Tara is my Buffyverse OTP, I do find the possibility of a post-show Willow/Faith intriguing, so I'm going to explore that here.
Also, FUCK KENNEDY!
