No. No way. I'm seeing things. No way is that Zuko dangling her from a cliff…
Azula disappeared after having another hallucination, so he, Katara, Aang, and Zuko agreed to split up to find her. Sokka wishes that he found Azula first instead of her brother, because then this scene wouldn't be playing out in front of him . Knowing that he has to do something before Zuko does something that he'll regret, Sokka starts running towards the two of them. When he's close enough, he reaches out and grabs Azula, pulling her into him and away from Zuko. Zuko turns around to see what just happened, and Sokka uses this moment to punch Zuko, effectively knocking him down. Once he's sure that Azula is fine, he stands in front of her, glaring at Zuko as he watches him stand back up. Sokka growls "What the fuck is wrong with you? Huh? Why were you holding your sister, who can barely walk thanks to that torture device she was in, over a damn cliff?!"
Zuko looks at him with shock and says "Because she attacked me the moment I found her! I was trying to get her to come back with me, but she started sputtering all of this nonsense about our mother not loving her and believing her to be a monster. I got angry and the next thing I knew, I was holding her over the cliff."
Sokka takes a deep breath. He's not sure what to think here. Surely Zuko hadn't been considering dropping Azula from that height, had he? Sure, their relationship was extremely fucked up thanks to their father, but the two of them are still siblings. And as the older brother, it's Zuko's job to protect Azula and to care for her. Sokka knows this because that's how he is with Katara. They may fight from time to time, but he still loves his sister and would drop everything to be there for her in her time of need. That's what big brothers do after all. So then why isn't Zuko doing that for Azula in her time of need? Doesn't he see that she's unwell? Didn't the doctors at the asylum tell him anything about her condition? "Zuko", he starts "What exactly did the doctors at the asylum tell you about Azula's condition?" Zuko looks at him, confused, which doesn't make sense to Sokka. Azula is his little sister, so why is he the one looking confused by this question?
Finally Zuko answers him, "They told me that her condition was improving and that she was getting better. Which is why I don't understand why she's behaving like this. They told me that she was completely fine to come with us." Perfectly fine, he says? How can someone who has trouble walking and constantly having hallucinations be perfectly fine? Considering the fact that the person that they are looking for happens to be who Azula has been having hallucinations about, she shouldn't have come with them at all. Shouldn't Zuko know all of this though? He is the Fire Lord after all, so he should know what's going on with his sister's health. Right?
Sokka looks at Zuko with disappointment and says "So let me get this straight. You just took their words at face value, despite the fact that Azula clearly has trouble walking and is constantly having hallucinations about your mother. And yet despite all of this, you thought it was actually ok to bring her along? She shouldn't be here, Zuko! She needs to be somewhere she can get proper care and treatment, not out here with us searching for the person who has been tormenting her mind." With that said, Sokka turns around and picks Azula up. He needs to find Katara and Aang and get Azula out of here. Preferably without Zuko with them. Sokka doesn't think he can stand to be in close proximity to Zuko for more than 5 minutes before he tries to punch him or worse. Not after this. "I'm going to find Aang and Katara, and then we're leaving. Since this search is clearly more important to you than your little sister's health, you can stay behind to find your mother. We're going to take Azula back to the capital, but she's not going back to that damn asylum. See you around, Fire Lord Zuko."
