Droplets of water poured from the blackened night sky. The pitter patter of the rain showered the Earth below, soaking the leaves and soil of a large, daunting jungle. Within the forestry's capacity, the sound of hastened squish-like splatters echoed throughout the sound of the weeping clouds above.

Splish-splat-splish-splat…

Sinking into a softened puddle of water, a bipedal creature of blue and black sped through. It was short and somewhat chubbier than most of its species, body hunched over, panting pathetically as it attempted to run, run and run. The two orange pouches on either side of its face, pultriding outward and inward with each pant released.

The creature's black-ringed yellow eyes were as large as dinner plates, droplets of water running down its head. The expression on its face panicked, as it looked over its shoulder, occasionally letting out a whimper of fear.

"I'm almost there," the creature gasped. Their eyes were set forward and they could see a glimmer of light in between a set of prickly thorn shrubs.

They outstretched an arm…

A pair of eyes watch from above.

They opened their hand…

A shadow slithers forward.

And they…

Crackles and snaps of wood from the safety of a fireplace sizzled in place. The bright and warm light illuminated the inside of a cozy log cabin. A pair of hairy legs outstretched onto a bear skinned rug, with the repetitive sound of creaks emitting from an oversized rocking chair.

From the chair, a slim, hairy figure cradled a small glass that held a light brown substance. The creature took a sip, its bushy tail swishing back and forward as it leaned into its seat.

"Sir."

The creature opened its orange-yellow eyes. Drumming its fingers along the armrest of its chair, it let out a knowing sigh.

"Let me guess, the newcomer failed?" The creature mused, its voice deep and filled with disappointment. They didn't bother looking at the other specimen in the room.

"...Yes, sir."

With a hum of acknowledgement, the creature's eyes turned toward the small table beside them. Lying on the red mahogany wooden table was a stack of fourteen envelopes.

The creature smiled, almost wickedly to himself. "I suppose we'll just have to find some more adventurous souls then."

A/N: First of all, I would like to introduce myself. I'm Swift Swellow, you may address me as Swift or Swellow. I'm not new to Fanfiction, I had an account but later deleted it due to some toxicity surrounding a former community. I made this one and moved onto this old flame.

I once was an avid fan and reader in the Total Drama Island x Pokemon community. I never had my own account but I remember submitting characters to Dark Arcanine and reading Dark Amphithere's works.

I had recently gotten back into Total Drama Island rewatches and I've been working on my own project involving a Pokemon spinoff of one of my favorites works "The Most Dangerous Game".

I couldn't help but wonder about trying my hand at a SYOC here. I remember they used to be extremely popular a long time ago and I thought I'd try my hand at a Total Drama Pokemon fanfic with some dark undertones. Something similar to my other work but with some goofy and fun humor similar to Total Drama Island.

For this story, I will be looking for 16 Pokemon, of various species and genders. If there's an influx of males over females or vice-versa, I will cease acceptance of certain genders and only keep the other one open. I'll update frequently on who is accepted and will allow multiple submissions for a fair chance of getting one character in.

And please, when submitting a character, think of why they would want to participate in this particular setting. When reading the prologue and summary of this, it will give you an idea of what you're in store for. This isn't a summer camp that's on national television, this is a secluded island that is not being filmed. They won't get famous. They know what they're signing up for and it's not fun.

Will there be death here? No. I can promise you there won't be any death toward main characters, meaning your characters will not die.

Rules of Submitting

1. You may submit multiple characters, however only one will be allowed in.

2. You may submit legends/mythics/ect. There are multiple of them and I don't consider them as God-like beings. However, I prefer standard Pokemon species, so you will have to impress on their submission.

3. You may not give me an all-powerful character.

4. You may not give me instructions on what you want your character to do. You are submitting a character into my care and are entrusting me with their developmental plans.

5. Nothing too dark. This has dark undertones but someone who kills or enjoys doing/seeing things that are not friendly in the T rated stories is not going to be accepted.

6. No duplicates of species/their evolutionary lines. If I accept a Sneasel, I'm not accepting a Weavile, Sneasler, ect. Simple as that.

7. The characters of this story will default to around 16-19 of age. If you send me an infant or an elderly they will automatically not count.

8. Have fun. Creating characters is a fun process and shouldn't be rushed. There's no deadline for this, so please take the time to think of a character that you think will suit this story well!
