Dad dropped me off in the driveway and headed back to work. I was surprised to find Edward sitting on the porch when I turned around. He hadn't been there before, just seconds ago. I started to head around towards the back door, hoping he would leave me alone.
"You didn't see me?" Edward said. He was right beside me, causing me to yelp.
"I absolutely DID see you."
"I just need to talk," Edward said.
"About what?" I asked. I stepped away from him. The closer he was, the more the air seemed to vibrate. "Can you give me some space?"
"I need you and your friends to stay out of the woods for a while," Edward said. "I can't—I don't know how to say more without..."
"Is this serious?" I asked. I could feel the intensity in his words. I had tried not to think about how weird the whole Cullen Clan was… but I didn't think he was lying to me.
"Yes."
"Okay."
He nodded. "Then I will go now. Unless you want to invite me inside."
"I want to invite you to go to hell," I said.
"Be safe," he replied back.
Then he was gone.
