I was looking at my story BROKEN FAMILY, and instead of redoing the prequel, I wanna redo the original game's timeline.. There's plenty more that can be done, especially Pinkie Lancer, so here it is..
Lets start with a summary of RDR2..
The year is 1899, as a sign of the times, a gang of robbers, thieves, and other dregs of society led by Dutch van der Linde and Hosea Matthews have been forced to retreat from Blackwater after a riverboat heist gone horrifically awry. They trek through the frigid mountains of the north. It is a hard time for the gang, several of them have already passed from the elements and the others are suffering from a lack of shelter and food. They catch a break in the form of an abandoned mining town, Colter, where Arthur Morgan, a member of the gang and one of Dutch's most trusted confidants, sets out with Dutch and newcomer Micah Bell III for supplies. They come across a homestead that appear to be holding a party, only to find that the homestead is housing members of the O'Driscoll gang, a rival gang. After a gunfight they find Carly and Pinkie instead of Sadie, and Dutch takes them in. The girls decide to stay as New Austin is too far from West Elizabeth.
Shortly thereafter, at the behest of Abigail Roberts, Arthur and the girls set out to find fellow gang member and the father of her son, John Marston, who's far from the heroic hero he is later, and he's instead an snarky and neglectful husband and father.
Dutch decides they need to get new money so he leads a robbery of a train owned by a corrupt business man Leviticus Cornwall, the robbery's a success but this leads to further trouble down the road. Cornwall hires federation detectives Edgar Ross and Andrew Milton, who find Pinkie when out with Jack. And Cornwall ambushes Dutch and Arthur in a town, so the gang move to a new camp and Dutch poses them as cops to work with the Grey family, than later with their mortal enemy the Braithwaites, but eventually they are caught and gang member Sean MacGuire is killed by the Grey's during an ambush attack, and Dutch finds out the Braithwaites kidnapped Jack so he leads a full attack, burning down their house and finding out Jack was sold. It's also around this time Carly's father Michael finds them and ends up staying, being a fan of Dutch's. Which only plays into Dutch's ego.
They find out a man named Angelo Bronte had bought Jack but he eventually returns him and gives Dutch a robbery tip. But this ends up a false lead and also an ambush of cops, Bronte set them up. During the attack Dutch suffers a major head wound and ever sense he begins acting very unusual, even for him. Dutch tracks down Bronte and wants to ransom him, but when insulted Dutch instead violently drowns him in a swamp and feeds him to an alligator. This concerns Michael, who believes Dutch isn't acting like himself.
Hosea and Dutch than plan a huge bank robbery, but goes awry and Hosea is killed by Milton. Worse yet Arthur finds out he has TB, and sadly it's at the same time he finally agreed to take Pinkie out, deciding he's getting nowhere with Mary. Meanwhile Micah begins having rivalry with Carly, openly trying to kill her a few times. Seemingly for sexist reasons. However he also takes advantage of the fact Dutch's mental state is continuing to worsen, slowly turning him again Arthur, the girls and John, who's slowly becoming the John we love.
Dutch now begins working with the Natives, Arthur being very bothered by this, as Dutch isn't as much protecting them as trying use their anger at the army to start a war. Unfortunately this is more less proven right and almost every Native is killed in the resulting fight, Dutch using the distraction to rob the army under their noses.
Arthur's faith in Dutch is shattered when he abandons Arthur to the Army, leaves John for dead on a train robbery, and refuses to rescue Pinkie when she is taken by Milton. Arthur and Carly rescue Pinkie and Milton names Micah as the Pinkertons' informer before he's killed by Carly.
Michael meanwhile ended up leaving, as he had to take Tily Jackson away. A non fighter of the gang. He ending up back at his home in New Austin.
Arthur and the girls returns to camp and openly accuse Micah of betrayal. Dutch, Bill, Javier, and Micah turn on Arthur and a newly returned John, but the standoff is broken when Pinkertons (feds) attack. In the end Arthur decides to damn the money and help John escape with the last of his strength, telling the girls to go with him.
Arthur fights off the advancing Pinkertons, giving the others the chance to escape. Micah attacks Arthur in a fist fight. Arthur holds his own against Micah. But eventually, the last of his strength fails him, and Arthur collapses to the ground, but not before pistol-whipping Micah with his revolver and losing his grip on it in the process. He crawls for this sidearm, but is stopped by Dutch. Arthur tries one last time to warn Dutch about Micah, and Dutch doesn't even have a response this time. In the end he simply walks away, leaving Micah behind. Depending on honor Arthur is either killed by Micah or dies peacefully of his TB.
Regardless Pinkie still swears revenge on him either way when she came back and was the one to find Arthur, and keeps his hat as a memory of him. Being the only real boyfriend she had in a long time.
Eight years later, in 1907, John and his family are trying to lead honest lives. They find work at a ranch where John fights back against outlaws threatening his employer. Believing John is unwilling to give up his old ways, Abigail leaves with Jack.
John takes a loan from the bank to purchase a ranch, along the way he is reunited with the girls who help built his new home. However Pinkie continues to obsess with Micah. Once Abigail returns John proposes to her, but Pinkie's obsession with Micah results in her tracking him to a mountain, John going with her much to Abigail's pleads him not too, and get himself killed.
A long battle goes down but eventually Pink finds Micah, but he shoots her twice and stabs her before holding her as a shield against John. Worse yet Dutch reveals to be there two, and John again tells him about Micah betraying them, Dutch remains uncharacteristically quiet, but eventually he shoots Micah, making him drop Pink, and John shoots the shit out of him. Finally killing him.
Dutch silently leaves, having nothing left to say.
John now finally has peace, and the girls eventually leave but Abigail says they can visit anytime. So does Uncle, who was another gang member John reunited with. And unlike the girls he stays.
