When he found himself back in 1985, Marty should have been happy. And he was-sort of. The first thing he did was hurry over to Jennifer's house. He'd been

worried sick about her and even though the Doc assured him that she'd be just fine, he wasn't convinced until he saw it for himself. For a moment he could only

stare at her. Laying on the porch swing, she looked like an angel, sleeping soundly. And he felt like Prince Charming as he removed his hat, knelt beside her and

kissed her soft lips. She threw her arms around him, her expression one of surprise and worry. He held her close, doing his best to reassure her that everything

was fine; that is, without revealing the reason she was there.

Now he shuddered, thinking of what could have happened had he decided to race Needles. The white Rolls Royce would have been totaled and there was no

telling what would have happened to the driver; not to mention himself and Jennifer. It was too horrible think about. Perhaps it was a sign.

The time machine-the DeLorean- was destroyed by the oncoming train and although thankfully the Doc wasn't inside, Marty was sad that he might never see his

friend again. But when the train appeared out of nowhere, he knew that the doc was okay. And the doc was married with a family! Marty had never been so

happy to see Clara and to meet their two sons, Jules and Verne. They were the spitting images of their parents. And Einstein rounded out the family nicely.

Marty couldn't help but smile.

Jennifer had no idea what had happened or why she'd ended up on her porch, asleep. She questioned the Doc about why the fax from the future-the one that

read You're Fired had been erased and the Doc's answer was nothing short of the truth. "The future is what you make it. So make it a good one."

At that moment Marty decided to do just that. He was going to work harder in school than he'd ever worked before. He'd treat Jennifer like gold and by the time

they were in college, he'd drop to one knee and propose to her, vowing never to have his life turn out the way it looked in 2015. He wanted to be successful, to

have a loving family and most of all to make Jennifer proud of him and happier than she'd ever been.

He'd never be able to explain to Jennifer (Or his brother Dave for that matter, but Dave seemed to find it hilarious) why he was dressed like Clint Eastwood, or

why the Doc had given him a picture of the two of them, taken a hundred years ago at the Hill Valley dedication ceremony for the Clock Tower, but he would

treasure the picture always. It was definitely a moment in time that he'd never forget.

For a split second he wished that he could take one last ride in the DeLorean-with Jennifer. He'd take her anywhere she wanted to go. Or rather "when". The

1950's, the 60's or even further back. She was always talking about how she wished she could go back in time to when the women wore beautiful dresses and

went to glamorous balls to meet suitors. He'd take her there in a moment, knowing that some man who was much more worthy of her love could very well

sweep her off of her feet, leaving him to return to 1985 alone. The thought hurt but he loved her enough to let her go, even though he wanted to hold onto her

forever.

But when he gazed into her eyes, he realized that there was nowhere on earth or in time he'd rather be than Hill Valley in 1985.

"Where are you headed, Doc? Back to the future?"

The Doc smiled. "Nope. Already been there!"

As he waved goodbye, Marty wondered when and if he'd ever see the Doc again. He felt Jennifer's arms around him. He closed his eyes and leaned against her,

comforted by the lilac scent of her lotion. He loved her so much.

Perhaps one day he'd tell her about meeting his parents and uniting them at the Enchantment Under The Sea dance while onstage playing "Johnny B Goode" in

1955. Or maybe he'd tell her about glimpsing the future in 2015, or even about his adventures in the old west in 1885. But none of that mattered now.

He'd see the Doc again. He was sure of it. As for Jennifer….

He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her softly. He'd love her until the end of time
